I should say Yes, the easiest way is to go talk to the drivers at any beach near the ticket stands for a price, all the money goes directly into the pocket of the driver. You can tell which island you want to see instead of a complete tour package bought from a ticket stand.

As always, the forecasts is like lottery here in Thailand anyways, do not trust longterm forecasts and just watch out of the window on the same day to check if it is "go to the beach weather" 😊
