You don't need vitimins if you eat healthy, fresh food. But you've helped make billionaires and savvy marketing, telling you you need their products. There are Vit C rich fruits in Thailand.

    • @Takumawakanda
      @Takumawakanda 5 месяцев назад

I’m an aspiring herbalist and a certified nutrition coach lol you need a lot more than vitamin C I’ll tell
You that much .. with all the pollution over there and illnesses I’ve heard I’m ready with the Chinese medicine I’ve studied to combat all that stuff but on the micro nutrient side vitamins C is definitely not the only
Vitamin you need in your body there is much more to really function at an optimal level being deficient in a lot of them will be a huge regret when you reach 40s when problems start and then upwards to 60s and 70s and beyond …im 31 now and making sure I cover all my bases before i reach 40 ..
9 years from now like in MMA fighting they say stay ready so you don’t have to get ready ….but I will say there are levels to health and there’s a lot you have to do if you want to function at your best in older age so much is needed … but im a health freak tho so these are my concerns for myself I want to be fit when I’m 70 or older so I’m preparing now …but for the average person definitely make sure to
Get adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals daily it will do you some good in the long run

I only found out about the eCigarette rule after I'd entered Thailand, had left Thailand for Laos, and was heading back to Thailand again with my eCigarette in my hand luggage. It was spotted going through the security check at Luang Prabang Airport, and I was told that I wasn't allowed to have it in either Laos or Thailand, and that they were going to confiscate it! I protested, saying that it was expensive and that I needed to keep it, and in the end they agreed to let me keep it, but they had to wrap it in bubble wrap and plenty of parcel tape first. I'd been happily using it in full view of everyone in both Bangkok and Luang Prabang, totally oblivious to the fact that what I was doing was illegal!

I would recommend registering it with the CAAT online before you come to save time and have something to show if any issue at the airport. I have brought drones into Thailand on several occasions though without any issue.

    Curious about the cigarettes.
In Australia which has about the same limits, they give you the option to keep the excess cigarettes/tobacco but you need to pay the tax on them.
Do they not do that in Thailand.
Also are you talking about declared or undeclared.
Again in Australia if you declare items and they are found to be in excess or not allowed you won't get a fine, but if you don't declare them you might get fined.

Power banks are an issue when boarding to take off, not when landing and exiting the airport. It is a new rule in almost any airport because pilots are instructed not to let passengers board airplanes with big batteries. Airport security will check the size and call the airplane pilot, but you will not get approval as pilots do not care about your problems. They want 100% security and all batteries out of their planes.
I had 4 huge batteries (2 for laptops (bigger than 32k ) and 2 for phones around 30k). They were retained in the airport in Bucharest, and I got them back in one month when I returned (but the laws are very new, and the batteries may be destroyed as the detention period is not specified)
So I transport large batteries by truck and/or buy large batteries at the destination and keep them in friends' houses or rented boxes (where you should check about similar rules)
These super large batteries are perfect for laptops, cameras, and phones (even if shops have recently started adding power outlets similar to Starbucks)
The reason for this is numerous smoke and fire incidents in planes because a lot of people have no-name batteries with them - or even brand-name phones and tablets caught fire inside planes.
So keep only 20k batteries for planes and check the size allowed, as this may dynamically decrease in time.

That is valid to a lot of countries! In fact, always check the list to whichever country you're going if you are not familiar. Some places are super strict and will not only confiscate but also fine you if you have it with you (fruits/veggies into Australia, just to name one example).

Nothing wrong with bringing Advil (Ibuprofen) to Thailand. I do it all the time and I've read the rules and it says it's OK. Strangely they don't seem to sell Advil in Thailand. Although you can often buy antibiotics and even Xanax over the counter there.

I am considering utilizing my TEFL certification for teaching in Thailand and other countries as well with 1 year commitments.
I’m from the USA and take prescription medication that I am told I won’t be able to get in other the countries of my interest .
My doctor here will write the prescription for a year and my current pharmacy will fill the prescriptions for a year .
One is a benzodiazepines for chronic anxiety called Ativan and the other is a compound hormone therapy to treat severe symptoms of menopause .
Would I be allowed to bring a year supply for these medications?
And what would the process be to bring these to Thailand? Thank you so much for such valuable information 🙏

Another advice: It's not like never bring these, but no need to fill up your luggauge if it is not necessary. Basically you can buy everything in the 7-eleven stores, or another shop like Mother Marche, BigC, 24 Super Cheap or Tesco Lotus. Such as beauty products(sunlotions, facecream, deodorants, etc), or medicine, toothbrush, toohpaste or anything you need. And in every area(even in the deep countryside) you find many within 10 minutes walk. And it is so cheap and everything is good quality. But it is the same with clothes, shoes, slippers. These are not sold in the 7-eleven though, but you can get them any other shops for peanuts. The whole country is so cheap. So when you go home you will have a lot of good new things.

Bringing medications to Thailand is absolutely fine, mate. Just ensure you have a certificate or prescription from your doctor that matches the amount you're carrying. For context, I need to travel with strong narcotic medications that would otherwise have serious consequences if I didn’t take them. I’ve brought these with me on every trip, and honestly, customs officials never even ask to see the certificate. That said, having it is crucial, as it’s all they’d require if they did check.
To be frank, you're making a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to traveling with medications. If you’re bringing over-the-counter meds or vitamins, no one will bat an eye. For prescription medications, including stronger ones, as long as you have the proper documentation and only carry what you reasonably need for your trip, there’s no issue.
Of course, it should go without saying that bringing more than the prescribed or necessary amount-especially for strong medications-could raise eyebrows, as it’s unnecessary and goes against the purpose of the certificate. But as long as you're sensible and stick to the rules, it’s a non-issue.

I saw them retained at the airport if the total value is over the maximum allowed (please get the updated total value information) - retained means that you can take them when you fly back out of Thailand
So bring the invoices with you to prove the value - and be prepared to pay the import taxes if you insist and declare that the products will remain in Thailand.

I have personal, used construction tools that easily fit in checked baggage and lithium batteries for power tools that I bring over when I come once a year. It is my understanding that as long as the value isn’t more than 20,000 baht, I don’t have to declare them. Is that correct?

The advice was about quantity - if you have a visa for 10 days and take a maximum of 2 per day = 20. If a small box has 50 you are ok - if you take 2 boxes with 10 you are OK, if you bring 10 boxes of 100 they will suspect that you sell them. You will stay at the airport for at least 2 hours to explain the quantity plus other ... fines, confiscate ...
