Hi Arsen, yet another video worth watching, however people are creative these days so I'm sure they will come up with new scams.. please keep us updated. Can you find out about some hotel scams? I'm sure tourists must be getting scammed specially in budget hotels.. Ex- loosing valuable items

Scammers come up with new scams daily and the public has to beware and exercise caution at all times. Basically, don't easily trust anyone from unknown sources especially when visiting new places/cities. At the same time, stay alert to pickpockets etc. Try not to show off your wealth and wear simple.
the texting scams has gotten in the US as well. They appear to be from known companies but when you click on the site they as you for a bunch of stuff or if you reply to it they can get your data

Be firm. Tell them that you will pay exactly what is on the meter. No tip and not 1Baht extra. It's amazing how quick the meter recovers. If all else fails stop and get out. There are hundreds of taxis around and remember that the cheapest kilometers are included in the 40 Baht start price.

Nice work Arsen. Re sms scams, do the mobile providers 'protect' your data or "on sell". Spent 3 months in Thailand last year. Would pay monthly mobile bill at 7-Eleven. Didn't have any faith 7-Elven would protect personal details (also paid in cash). Simply didn't answer any calls or sms.🙏
I didn’t get my sim at the airport in January because I wanted the eSim from AIS. Got my eSim at the AIS at the Villa Market. No unwanted calls or messages from scammers thankfully. I’ve heard about getting the scams from sims bought at the airport for some reason.
@@Buttercup553 I haven’t dealt with 7/11 sims because my phone cannot use physical sims. Strictly eSIM for my phone. I’ve heard 7/11 is a good place to get a SIM card at good prices.
Question, i was walking in Bangkok and a friendly girl stepped up to me and explained to me about child abuse and that the government is not doing much about it. Sadly i forgot the organization she worked for, but ok, child abuse is a sad well known problem and so I was thinking, because she also made selfies with other foreign people, ok, let`s donate 500 baht. Well, to my surprise you can only donate if you start with 2000 baht. So my reaction is, ok, listen, every small donation will help you, but that was not possible, only from 2000 baht or higher. For me it looks if she working for a real agency who really cares about child abuse, but i have still my doubt of this was a scam or not. Maybe worth to also check this out, because i did see more girls on different places exactly do the same things, targeting foreigners to listen to the same story. I don`t say that it is a scam, but just the, you can only help me when you donate 2000 baht was for me a no go.
obvious scam, buddy. holy crap. ive never heard any charity organization making a minimum donation of 2000 baht. i bet that money is going straight into her pocket. LOL!
The last time I was in Bangkok I decided to revisit the Grand Palace. I came across this scam. The guy tried to tell me the Palace was closed that day because of a special ceremony that was taking place. Ignored him walked up to the entrance payed the entrance fee and entered.
These internet scams are very common in India. Recently in Pattaya I asked by an Indian that he want to make a call to his mother and if I can give him Hotspot and I refused. After 5 minutes I see him with 5 more Indian friends chatting and enjoying. I wonder why didn't he asked his friends for Hotspot or why he just doesn't go to a coffee shop, massage etc where they provide free wifi
This is also happening at the airport..they don't want to turn on the meter and charge a flat rate of 500 Baht to hotel in Chit Lom area. And from hotel to airport is the same, the taxi will say they cannot get a customer after they drop you at the airport, so is 500 baht too. These is spoiling the image of Thailand and the Government should do something about this.
Thank you for this update Arsen. Some of these taxi drivers must think people are brain dead to fall for that old chestnut of 'ohh the meter has just broken down! :-). On the other hand is it possible to doctor a meter so that is shows inflated charges?

I got a call on my new SIM within an hour of purchasing it. They were asking funding for some charity. I immediately figured it out and cut the call.

Probably they are working with the place where you buy the sim card else how would they know that you have a new sim card.
Which sim company is the best deal and without connected scams ???
I use dtac and never had any problem. Just remember to refill to avoid disconnection. I refill 20 baht a month

with the scam when they put the meter on and after a little while say it is broken can you just leave the taxi abd pay what is on the meter
Just before you jump in say meter krap and he will know you are insisting that ... and all is fine
If grab fare is above 100 bahts they will come and pick you up otherwise they will decline your ride...I faced this issue as right now I am in Bangkok
Is there any taxi online like uber or grab which we can use instead of reguler taxi?
Use "Bolt"
Grab and Bolt in Thailand
I've used grab in Thailand.
So what happens when the taxi say the meter is broken in the middle of the ride? What do you do? Just get out?
good to know then again I never get a phone or a new sim because my carrier have 100 GB in Thiland so there is no need.
