I love Alan Wake! Such an amazing game. I couldn't put it down unless i HAD too. I completed it today and cant wait for the sequel. Great tribute/montage by the way :-)
The climax in the song coinciding with the climax of episode three, when Alan plummets into Cauldron Lake is nothing short of fantastic! Gave me shivers. Very well done. Both audio tracks really compliment each other there.
For what it's worth, this is the best tribute video I've ever seen. None of those constantly flashing screens that ruin videos and give seizures.. The song you chose fits even better than the other songs available ingame, and your editing is perfect, the game footage you picked fits the music at certain points beautifully (
Technicaly no. He wrote the whole story forward, so even tho it would normaly have killed him, the fact that he survives in 'Departure' makes him survive.
Great video man. My only (minor) complaint is the pink writing at the start... doesn't really go with the atmosphere of the game or song. Otherwise very good work!
So what? A lot of movies, books, games learning from each others, but its doesn't make them rip-offs, even Silent Hill. Learning from other success make every product better than before. If you say learning is stealing, then every artist in the world is thieve. The important point is this is a good and rare story, we should enjoy it. By the way "The birds" thing you say, it's a reference, it have nothing to do with the plot. And remember Alan Wake was directly inspired by Stephen King book.
@NovemberTerra You mean the new "Silent Hill" games are trying to be mindless rip-offs of almost every piece of successful horror media in the last 25 years, because "Alan Wake" certainly is. It's not the worst horror game I played this generation, but it shamelessly tried to mimic movies (I had to laugh when I saw that scene at the lodge, taken right from Hitchcock's "The Birds"), novels (Stephen King, anyone?) and games (hell, it even borrowed heavily off "Silent Hill"!) better than itself...
Did anyone else liked the main game but hated the expansions? To me the first game was pretty awesome, it was tense, had humor, and kept you asking what the hell was going on. The signal was just stupid creepy with the tf's all the time. It really freaked me out but not in the nice way the original game did. There was no mystery, it was just plain crap and eveyrthing was fucked up. Same with The Writer. Anyway else felt like that too?
Wow. For you, and everyone else ripping Alan Wake for apparently "ripping off" other source's materials and therefore not being original; There is such a thing called a reference, which is what most of these are, they're a tribute or nod to the original source itself. Maybe you guys should check your facts first, and just enjoy the game for a what it is; a fresh take on the thriller genre with a killer soundtrack to boot.
I don't think "Alan Wake" is a bad game, but I couldn't really enjoy it because I know most of the sources Remedy obviously drew from. It doesn't improve on those sources, but is inferior in almost every way. Alan Wake tried to be everything, include pieces of some popular horror stories, but ended up with no personality of its own whatsoever. That's why I only finished it once and never tried the DLC - I just can't be bothered. Oh, and "American Nightmare" was absolutely dreadful.
Welcome to the real world where pretty much nothing is original anymore.. The game was supposed to be a horror game in the first place so it drawing on horror elements from some books kind of makes sense. I can't even count all the games, books, movies that include this sort of atmosphere so, just stop trying to condemn it for being seemingly unoriginal. It's more than likely better than anything you could ever hope to make so..Just sayin.
best alan wake tribute
this is absolutely perfect! It sums up a lot of the games plot and Alan Wake himself and his quest to save Alice.
@RangerSlew
if i remember correctly it is in the chapter ''truth'' when he remembers what happened and that he wrote the story,
Next to the Legacy of Kain series, and a few others, Alan Wake is one of THE best games I've ever played, if not the exact best.
I have been a fan of this video since it came out' been on my phone a while now, thanks!!!!
I love Alan Wake! Such an amazing game. I couldn't put it down unless i HAD too. I completed it today and cant wait for the sequel. Great tribute/montage by the way :-)

@557011 Thanks alot, and I agree I'm a Muse fan also ;)
No wonder he wakes up with a blurry vision from breaking the water head first :p
@VeryFastKid And technically all those flares and flashbangs he used should leave him blind and deaf, but no one ever says anything about that.
the darkness disliked this video
