When I used to have a microwave, I would take a dishrag, wet it profusely and put vinaigre on it and put that in the microwave for 30 seconds. You evidently need to wait until you can handle the dishrag and then use it to clean out the microwave. This way I had no extra bowls to handle or making sure I don't spill boiling water on myself, but if the dishrag had any microbes on it, they had been microwaved out of existence prior to cleaning the microwave. :-) Love your channel !! Soo relaxing.

Zero complaints at all because I just adore her and this channel. I just thought it was funny how often that happens to me when I'm watching her content.

I was struck by how often you said, “if everything has a home, it only takes a minute”. The core issue for many cluttered homes is the overwhelming task of creating infrastructure, an organized place for everything. I’m constantly stunned at how poorly homes are designed. Fixing this is one weekend at a time, and only then do one minute at a time tasks become meaningful. 🤓 Love the video. Thank you!!
It makes me smile that my grandparents (born at the end of the 19th century in France) and my parents already implemented these principles, without the help of youtube :) I learned from them, and am so grateful to them! Also, my mum always advised us not to leave a room empty-handed, if anything in it needed to be taken to another room. And what needed to leave our home was always placed by the main door. Now I'm a grandmother, and my children and grandchildren are continuing the tradition. It doesn't mean our homes are perfect, but it is true that helps so much in keeping a home (or workplace) tidy, relaxing and pleasant!
My father-in-law used to say 'take something with you when you go' (from room to room that is). I think its something he learned from his mother. I often think of that saying 🙂
Thank you Benita. I have been on a decluttering mission for several years. I have found a less cluttered house is easy to keep clean and organized. I am retired so I enjoy using the first two months of the new year to deep clean and declutter a room at a time. This was the perfect video for January.

Hi Benita! Hello from Tennessee. I just had some huge dental surgery today ( had worse 7 months ago.) Your videos have helped me tremendously. I have finally gotten my house in good order and feel like I have some control over my life. My Nana was very much a minimalist and kept her home simple and in order. As kids, we 3 granddaughters made fun about it but that stopped years ago as we saw the value in how and what she did. Your habits are so similar that your videos just warm my heart. Plus they are very calming and your voice runs my anxiety out of me. I just wanted to say thank you. I'm sure you have heard similar before but it was important tonight to tell you here. Your videos brighten my days. Thanks again!!

I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve gone to sort washing and I’ve already done it earlier. Same with the dishwasher.😅. It’s a great way to keep on top of the house.😊 I also empty the dishwasher before bed. That way as the day goes on the next day I can just put dishes in as they accumulate. You have the best advice, I literally binge watch while preparing my home. I hope I can get there this year with my home being so easy and relaxing to live in.
My mother used to say, if you’re leaving a room, glance around and see if anything needs taking elsewhere on your way out. Like a coffee cup or an envelope from a document. Put the cup in the sink, or dishwasher, put the envelope in the recycling if appropriate and the contents somewhere secure if appropriate and deal with it with the priority it is due. Never go empty handed. When I came in from school, my uniform had to be taken off and play clothes put on, folding the uniform for next day. We didn’t use washing machine every day.
I have to clean up and reset my home before I go to bed. I love waking up to a tidy home. It really starts the day out on a positive note. I also keep my home company ready. I am a widowed Mom of 2 and there is no excuse not to keep your communal areas clean and neat. When I know someone is coming over, I just make sure the hallway bathroom is ready, which takes about a minute. A quick wipe down, and fresh towels is all it takes. Airing out our home every day is a must. I have a question for you Benita.... with the separation of your floor boards, are you concerned that, eventually, dust and dirt will fill them up? Another lovely, calming, helpful video as always, thank you Benita ! Have a lovely day ! 😀❄☃💗
I organized a basket that holds office supplies while I watched the video, and was able to recycle and throw away several things. I love taking a few minutes here and there to do small tasks.
I was watching a youtuber, and they mentioned it only took 3-4 minutes to empty a dishwasher. I was curious and timed myself and they were totally right. I try to make it a game while my kids are eating breakfast before school to see if I can get it emptied before they are ready to put their dishes away. Then like you said, my kitchen looks nice and tidy after morning drop off.

Yay, so happy if you find them useful!
I like your denture cleaning tablet tip. I never would have thought of it!
hello from Canada.Very recently discovered Benita. And I have become a great fan.
Two thumbs up for this vid!
Aww, thank you so much!
Excellent video! I especially liked the kitty hug and those Harry Potter books 😄 Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Thankyou for helping me declutter more. Brilliant video as always xxxxxxxxxx
This video deserves more views!
Two of the boxes on my 2024 habit tracker are declutter something and deep clean something daily. Some days that will just be one of each, but as time permits it can be bigger or more. It will be interesting to see the shape my house is in come December.
Great idea! I am going to copy you😊
Those are great habits!
What kind of thing do you deep clean daily. That sounds overwhelming to me, so maybe I have a different definition of Deep Clean. 😅
Thanks Benita!! Greetings from the Basque Country :)
Thanks so much fort watching!
Your place is so beautiful. Keep up the great work.😊
My Granny and Mother used to say “a place for everything and everything in its place”!
My dad used to say that too!
Hang up I love your videos so much thank you thank you I wondered if you’d be willing to do a video on minimalism in relationships and in a community? Showing us a little bit more of your immediate surroundings, and how you interact, minimally socially and don’t feel overwhelmed.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Excellent...I pretty much do most of these ..x 👍
Glad to hear that!
I've always told my kids ( now adults ) never waste a wet cloth. I do the same as you with my facecloth and any microfiber wash cloths that are going into the laundry I'll be sure to find something to wipe down en route. 😂
Something to wipe down en route!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😆👌🏻
Benita, Nice one.
Having a place for everything is very helpful. It makes cleaning as you go along almost effortless.
I also try to implement the "one touch" rule. If it's in my hand it immediately gets put away.
Cheers
The one touch rule is👌🏻
Loved this. When watching I do most of ideas anyway. Felt very proud
Glad you enjoyed it! And👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!
39 tips I needed to hear - thank you again Benita!!!
I do three walkthroughs a day since live with others!
My routine is the same as yours, cleaning on the go! Little stuff at the time. Thanks Benita, it helps a lot.
Makes such a big difference in the long run!
I always love the tone of your videos. Great helpful ideas as always. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Benlta: I do mini-clean-ups like you do, alfhough you gave me some more tips on how to clean and air out bed linen and PJs. While watching your blog, I got inspired and did some quick cleans in the kitchen. Thanks! Jenny
Happy if you found some new ideas to implement in your home!
Excellent tips Benita, thank you for the inspiration
Your videos are not only helpful & inspiring, but also calming. Our home has five occupants with one being a five year old, but I still manage to pick up some of your suggestions like always having a donation box or bag handy in coat closet. Thank you, Benita.
Thank you❤
Thanks so much for watching!
Me and my 3rd times on this video 😊 Ohh thanks so much Benita! Your topics and calming voice are my favorites ❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow, thanks for watching!
Great tips Benita. I have found the rubber gloves pick up even more cat fur, if I wet them first.
Ooh, that’s a great tip!
As it coming into spring cleaning time, could you possibly do a “how I clean my Dyson vacuum “ video! No doubt you’ll have the best hints and tips for keeping it tip-top and smelling fresh. 😊
I will be sharing some cleaning tips soon but how to clean my Dyson isn’t included😅 I pretty much use their instructions s it’s not anything I made up😅
I never tire of watching your videos Benita, so relaxing and full of useful tips.
I adore all your videos, but this, when I've seen Harry Potter's book...😍😍😍, perfection 🤍
This is lovely and it's only takes a minute will help me alot. 😀
And when it becomes a habit you won’t even realize that you’re doing house work!
Gracias por tu tiempo al hacer estos vídeos, me dan muchísima paz y felicidad ❤
Thanks so much for watching!
Great tips, Benita, thanks you. And thank you Bonus for making an appearance.
He was gracious and participated 😅
This was a terrific video for me. Very motivational. All extremely useful tips to Create, productive habits
Happy New Year! Great tips as always Benita! When boiling the kettle each morning, I make it a mission to empty the dishwasher before the kettle has boiled! Gets the job done very quickly! Thank you for the denture tablet in the toilet tip.. added to my shopping list! 😊
That’s a great idea!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Anytime I put something in the microwave,I wash whatever dishes are soaking in the sink. Because I don’t have to scrub anything,I’m always done under four minutes.
Hi Benita, beautiful video as always, can I suggest you use a mug or jug in the microwave instead, does the same job but has a handle for grabbing, making it easier and safer when the water is hot 🔥. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
That a good idea, I just feel that the bowl gives off more steam around it. But maybe that’s not so.
Thank you. Beautiful.
I’ve got chronic fatigue so I can only do cleaning in short spurts. I get an outside cleaner to do the big things but I do the little ones every day.
Getting outside help is a great move!
Thanks for the video 😊
Thanks so much for watching it!
Always the Best ! ❤
Aww, thank you so much!
Wonderful! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!

As always, I'm inspired. And those Flowers! Such a beautiful way to begin and end. Thank you for the inspiration!
So happy if the video left you inspired!
Such truth here…..tidying/cleaning as you go makes such an impact. Thanks for sharing!
Huge impact and when it’s become a habit you don’t even realize you’re doing so much.
Yes the denture tablets - great idea!!
Works so well too!
Great helpful video.
