:O She does more than just sing words, she really uses her voice like an instrument, she actually creates the song as she sings and draws you in, pulling you around hypnotically. What she does is more real than those awful static mainstream singers who just go with a beat, do a few flourishes and sing loud words. Completely different, practically of a different world. -hits replay-
My thoughts exactly! I went to her concert in Denmark recently - she spoke Danish to the audience, sang in English and Faroese and after the concert I even heard her speak Swedish. She really is quite extraordinary!! :O
"One time when i was,,,,how old was i? about sixteen, maybe seventeen years old. it was right before i came to Iceland to live. at that time,,,what's called in icelandic? At that time I had some rather grave love problems, that lasted right about,,,two days. (laugh) And in this two days i wrote a song, that is called "Nú brennur tú í mær", now you are burning inside of me."
It seems impossible that Eivør could be better live than on record. But she is! Many people can perform, but few can - or dares to - create art live on stage.
