I enjoyed that you even were making jokes to help lighten the mood. However, most importantly, you recognized that you needed to get out the emotions and move on from the experience (including mourning in all black) before making any drastic life decisions.
Don't apologize for your behavior on this vlog. It's understandable. What a downer and my heart goes out to you for all that loss. I hope that you're doing better and recovered and that you will continue to travel and share with us.

Randomly starting watching your vlog of Mountain Hua, initially I wondered why you're in such hurry to finish one place after another. I jumped back to the start of the journey seeing the trip plan there, which covers almost all major attraction of China, then I realize why the plan is so compact. Those places took me 10 years to visit them all in several separated trips. Each time we got one week or so. Yup, I have had my share of mishaps in China. I learned to take my time and start up all my gear at my hotel, before going to my destination. I missed lots of drone footage because I didn’t register, didn’t update, broken SD card and dead battery. Glad you could laugh and cry about it.
Hi Claire, to launch DJI drones in China, you've to use a local Sim... OR... use VPN on your phone to deceive the app that you're in another location! You can fly, but can't see the map terrain on the DJI Go. I intended to get a local sim card for flying my drone in China, but had a hard time buying one as you'll need a local person's ID to register the SIM. Figured using VPN was easier...
Please forgive me, I couldn't help myself but back here and watching this vlog for the second time. I still couldn't stop laughing, even though I felt all your pain and feeling sorry for your $2000 lost. Love all your videos.
The reason why DJI requires a local number is to ensure that you've got the permission to fly a drone in certain areas. Anyways I'm sorry for your loss
