Great job! If you are concerned about where the photo will start and stop you can design a vertical bar where you use a coordinating solid color and use that bar to place text (on the vertical) for example name, or place or date. I did this for a Valentines tumbler that I used a photo of roses and then added a color bar and placed Happy Valentines Day text. Just a thought.
You're amazing the best video ever for all DIY project videos you gave us all steps with full info and links for everything what an amazing video that is 🤩
Oh my goodness!!! It has been so so cold in Kansas over the last 10 days but not much precipitation for snow. We did get some and it kept the students out of school for a couple of days, but it was only a few inches. Thank you for watching!
I have been following your directions on the taping of the tumbler and I have not had a fail yet. I use a convection oven and I really love it. I have not been brave enough to try making coffee mugs in it yet. I may have to buy a tumbler press just for coffee mugs.
Thank you so much for letting me know the taping works for you too! I appreciate that! About coffee mugs, some of the coffee mugs are too large in circumference for some of the tumbler presses so you might try it in your oven before spending any money on one. Whatever way you decide to go, happy crafting!!!
Very nice Marilyn. Thanks for this video. I have this press but only used a couple of times. because it was scorching my tumblers. I will give it a second try now.
Oh no! Hopefully you are able to find settings that work well for you. I also learned when I started doing tumblers that I was adding too much pressure. It was really causing marks where the tape was. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. To add the black strip, I used the rectangle tool and filled it with black. I'm not sure what you mean by "or even have space to but in a name ??" but I'd be happy to try to help if you have more details about your question.
Thanks, Zelda! Some brands of the yellow tape do that. I actually had a video where I talked about that and to test your tapes b/c I actually ruined a pillow with the tape staining it once. So frustrating. The brand I use has never done that. Some people just use the white or blue b/c of it, too.
The tumbler brands vary slightly. The size of my image was 9.4 x 8.2 and I had to cut down the height. 8 inches in height would have been tall enough for this one. For other brands, I would need it taller than 8.0 inches. You definitely need to measure the tumbler that you are using b/c it could be different dimensions than mine.
I have to try the tape wrap twice. Easy the first round, tight the second. I don’t always get that white but occasionally I do. I need to make an adjustment and that just might be what I need. Thanks for the great video and that picture is awesome
Thanks Shay Shay! I took the picture into Inkscape and then added a really thin and tall rectangle up against one side of the photo. Then I chose black as the fill color. After that, I grouped the image and the tall black rectangle together.
Gosh, your tumbler turned out perfect, glad I found you channel will be checking in a lot. thanks for explaining step by step, I have a question, how did you put the black line on the one side?
I used Inkscape, but any design software will work. I just made a tall skinny rectangle and added it over the side of the picture. Do you use any design software and, if so, which one?
I have played around with canva and also I have inkscape. I am still in the process of setting everything up as of yet so I have not printed anything yet. I am watching so many YT videos to learn when I actually do a print. thanks for asking. Love your precise videos. Thank you for answering my question.@@MakingwithMarilyn
I started with Inkscape, which is a free design software. I have seen a lot of people who started with Word, but I don't know how to manipulate images in Word. Another software that I use to make designs and print them is Silhouette Studio.
I never used to use one, but the instructions say to have one in there to increase the life of the press. I really don't understand why, especially if you leave the press wide open while it is heating up, but I decided to follow the instructions that came with the press:)
I never used to use one but people called me out for not following directions. Supposedly the heating element lasts longer if you use one, but if the press is wide open while it heats up, I really don't understand why it's necessary either.

I really like the black line technique!
Thank you! I like the little definition between the ends of the picture too.

Congratulations Mike! Here in Wisconsin at our home we got 16” of snow with one little storm (3”) and 13.5 with the big storm.

AWESOME!!!!!
Hi Stacey!!!
Hi Marilyn, you videos are so helpful. Quick question, what am I doing wrong if my tumbler has tape marks? Thank you in advance
Is it that you can see an impression of the tape in the tumbler? If so, your pressure is probably too tight.
@@MakingwithMarilyn thank you . Yes I can see the impression. I will reduce pressure🙌
@@jesslabeba267 let me know if that fixes the issue.

is a glow in the dark sublimation possible?
What type of blank are you considering using? I know there are glow in the dark sublimation tumblers available.
You could also set your document properties to landscape :)
Thank you for the input and thanks for watching!

Thanks Uni!!!
Im new to this i have trouble trying to figure out where yo pront my upload pics from etsy. What app do you recommend im a total beginerr

Why do u need to have a blank tumbler when you heat up the press?
I never used to use one, but the instructions say to have one in there to increase the life of the press. I really don't understand why, especially if you leave the press wide open while it is heating up, but I decided to follow the instructions that came with the press:)

I didn’t know anything about a heater tumbler, why is this necessary?
I never used to use one but people called me out for not following directions. Supposedly the heating element lasts longer if you use one, but if the press is wide open while it heats up, I really don't understand why it's necessary either.
