    A quite incredible car, if you want a spacious load carrying family car, this has it all. We regularly travel to south west France to tour and go fishing. Loaded up with all our fishing tackle and baggage.lots of room, 6'6" rod bags fit in easy. Adaptive cruise control on the lovely French motorways. I was so impressed with our first Superb estate in 2016 we got another one 22 plate slightly higher spec. It is an incredible car. Upper 40s to the gallon, totally reliable and a pleasure to drive, from east anglia to south west france on just over one tank of diesel, in spacious comfort, fully loaded. Everything we could want in a car.thank you skoda.

      @@-DC- great to have the choice. I believe many buyers don’t make a rational decision based on their requirements but go for the popular choice.If the sales turn out to be abysmal it doesn’t matter a jot to those who have decided to purchase a large estate. Maybe SUV sales in the UK are higher due to clever marketing.😉

    I have a 2016 Superb 280 Estate L&K with DSG, Dynamic Chassis Control & 4 x 4. Best car I've ever had. Acres of space & pace & it can carry a wardrobe inside or on the roof! What's not to like. Best bought at 2-3 years old for half the price when new.

    • @iliesrazvan828
      @iliesrazvan828 5 месяцев назад +3

      Totally agree. it is one of the most under rated sleepers on the market. I have a 2021 one. For the price I got it ( 2 years old) I could have got a stelar milage 520 d or similar. Yes, BMW or Mercedes has better materials inside but the difference in comfort, overall, is not that big and Skoda offers better running costs ( except the mpg) and lots of space inside.

    • @colingoode3702
      @colingoode3702 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@iliesrazvan828 Even more of a sleeper when you add a stage 1 ECU remap & get 360bhp without any other mods! In sport mode it can easily achieve sub 5 secs 0-60s but even more impressive is the increase in torque from 349 to 488nm which makes for effortless pulling power in any gear.

    I have a 2017 L&K version from new. It now has 405,000km on it. The best car I have ever owned! I am awaiting my new L&K version DIESEL, in 2 weeks. It's a good, solid, very dependable car. It's all a car should be! My new one will have all the tech, HUD etc, etc.

  • @iliesrazvan828

    One of the most under rated cruiser in the market. Forget the sensitive 1.5 or the electrical nonsense. Just get the powerful petrol paired with dcc and will make it a sleeper. However the previous interior looks nicer, to me, if you get it with the traditional dials ( not the electronic one dash) and in light beige color. Looks sort of a classy car, easily mistaken for an expensive brand.

    Good review, thanks.
    As a commercial/industrial photographer and dog owner, I've driven estates for over 30 years. I leased a Tiguan cheap, just as VW were shutting down their diesel production lines for the glorious electrification revolution, which seems to have short-circuited somewhat.
    Living in the country I have grown to appreciate the ride height visibility, and they are definitely easier to get in and out of as you become an old codger.
    As my lease comes around for renewal I have watched several reviews of both the Octavia and the Superb estates and am sorely tempted away from growing SUVs fraternity.
    These latest estates do phenomenal fuel consumption, with more carrying capacity and softer ride. I'd still be keen to buy the lovely 2L diesel though - if I could trust our government and/or the EU to apply themselves to clear, intelligent decisions for their voting public.
    BTW: It was rather telling at launch, that Skoda announced the new Superb as being available with 2 Diesels, 3 Petrol... and a PHEV. It would seem that the VAG group - along with other manufacturers - are not singing from the prescribed song sheet.
    JM

    Nice car but the basic trim estate with a few option packs including heated steering wheel, rear airbags and matrix headlamps takes it over £40k and into luxury car tax, UK tax rules it out for many as a sensible purchase.

    I have the previous superb - Lauren and klement. I test drove the new version and have to say I did think the interior was worse than the old one. Much cheaper feeling. I don’t know why those 3 intelligent dials are that wobbly but at least Skoda did this and it does work well. Also unsure why the Lauren & Klement now only comes with the 4x4 engine. Odd decision that one. Still the new one was very comfortable- was a base spec - so didnt have the adaptive suspension. For me, just a shame the interior didn’t feel as luxurious as previous model.

    Today I was at a dealership that sells both Skoda and VW. It occurred to me that it has finally happened: the Superb is a better looking car inside and outside, than it's sibling Passat. There's something very very odd with the Passat, its...a bit incoherent from the outside, not as majestic as the previous version, and it's interior is just average. Whilst the Superb is....well..superb. As is the Kodiaq interior. VW has missed the bus. Or did they miss it deliberately???🤔 Think about that.....

    Ive been driving Superb Estates since 2011.I'm on my fourth. Love them.
    However, I really dislike the dashboard. Was so disappointed, with the overall shelf like design and the really cheap feel. Like formica worktop. Far too much going on with the large screen and the digital display and the vertical slat design on the facia, which has no practical purpose is just a dust catcher.
    My current car is barely two years old and Ill be hanging unto it. Probably my last Superb.

More realistic are the Passat, the A6 Avant and all the awful SUV's car buyers in general have been fooled into thinking is normal now.

      Unless you only buy rare Ferraris and Porsches or the odd Bugatti, depreciation will destroy the value of every car you buy. Cars are a financial millstone regardless of brand, and Skoda depreciation, especially if you get a well specced estate, isn't anything like as bad as plenty of other cars, because the second hand market for reliable, roomy estate cars is pretty stable, certainly better than average for cars in general, not to mind anything electric.
