I purchased one of these about 6 weeks ago. It now has 9.5k klm . I have the diesel L&K version with all the extras available. In Ireland it's €67,500 . The Canton sound is great! I getting on average 1300km per tank.
My previous Superb L&K MK3 I drove it for 408,000km.. no major issues!

I agree about the armrest, love having an adjustable one in my Octavia. Only other gripe I have of the Superb is it's too long for me, I don't need all that space. Skoda are making good cars.

    Cheers!
I have been using the Skoda Superb diesel 4x4 selection version for half a year. This is my company car.
The car is roomy, there is enought power, the steering is neutral.
The seats are massaged. In short, nothing special.
However, there are more problematic things than normal ones, and these abnormalities make driving a car very stressful.
First of all, the car is full of all kinds of "driving aids", which is probably normal in countries where the infrastructure supports these aids, but in our country there is no corresponding infrastructure and driver aids are completely pointless. Unfortunately, the dealer says they can't be turned off completely and that means you have to do pointless things at the start of every ride. European Union laws. Complete Brussels sprouts.
The car screams at everything: the car engine is running, I am out of the car with the key, the car keeps screaming that the key is not in the car! So what! There is no driver! I understand that the car would warn if the driver is in the car but there is no key.
Exit warning!? Who needs it? Only an idiot doesn't check when exiting to see if anyone else is driving somewhere or not. Is this car made for idiots?
I often drive a trailer. In this case, when stopped, there is a warning that exit assist does not work, trailer detected?!? Who needs that kind of shit?
When reversing with a trailer, it is often necessary to maneuver extremely precisely, centimeter by centimeter. The mirrors are spherical, the image is deceiving, I would like to open the door and take a closer look, but what does the car do - it turns off the gear and applies the brakes!
The car's sensors are so poor that they react to all kinds of meaningless shadows and the car brakes on all kinds of things and in very illogical places. The cruise control is especially bad. Often brakes in completely illogical places, why, I don't know? Autumn has a lot of problems with the camera because the glass is foggy on the inside and the early morning flurry of yellow lights on the dashboard is common. I don't know what will happen in the winter. Is it even possible to drive this car in winter?
Management ergonomics. The buttons on the steering wheel would be like 20 years ago: radio volume, radio stations, steering wheel heating, some pointless menus on the screen. Everything. There is nothing more, even for the cruise control there is a lever behind to the steering wheel, like on cheap French cars two or thirty years ago.
The "gear stick" turns on "drive" or "sport" as it likes...
The screen behind the steering wheel does not belong to this car at all, the car is not cheap, but the screen is as if taken from the cheapest car. Neither phone list nor navigation can be displayed there. Also, the screen is small, the active area is very small and it is also full of nonsense. I need to use the phone quite often, it's still very inconvenient, everything is on the central screen, but you should keep your eyes on the road!
High beams are powerful, all treetops are illuminated. I don't know why it is necessary to illuminate the tree tops, maybe it has something to do with protecting nature? Automatic low beams are cheap, with large matrices, as if they were produced several decades ago.
Half a liter of oil had to be added to the engine when the car had a mileage of 7500 km! On a new car! Yes, the fuel consumption is relatively low for such a car, but it seems that engine oil is also burned to move forward...
When the drive gets really stressful, I turn on the massage…

Good stuff again. Lovely big car; a true family workhorse. The blue option you mention is the colour you get when you inherit your (upgraded) company car from a colleague who has left the company and you're stuck with it for the remainder of the lease. The test car colour, however, is better (but only just).

Great review Tim - totally agree about how ridiculous VW are not to offer any diesels in the new Passat. I have a 2019 Passat AllTrack with the 193bhp diesel engine and four wheel drive and it’s a brilliant car for long journeys and fully loaded with passengers and luggage. So why are VW UK not offering it in the UK as compared to the Continent? If I change cars it will definitely be the Skoda equivalent .

As good as it undoubtedly is, the Superb is a large car. My neighbour - who bought his new Superb 4 years ago - has very recently chopped it in for a new Skoda Scala. In fact he bought 2 Scalas, as his wife chose one too. He was increasingly finding that parking spaces large enough to accommodate the Superb seemed to be decreasing in size....

Why doesn't the digital instrument cluster fit inside the cowling. Looks like it was nailed on as an after thought. I love my Skoda Superb but that dash and lack of adjustable centre armrest would make me think carefully about buying this new model.

I would not touch a new diesel , up until 2012 Skoda diesel engines where superb, brought a band new 2016 superb, what a nightmare, water pumps 3 of them drinking oil, my car was fully serviced by Skoda it did 133000 miles and it was done, my older superb elegance, 2009 is still on the road 245000 miles and still going strong, just brought a brand new Skoda Octavia sport line 1.5 tsi e- tec 65 to the gallon , fantastic engine, do not go down the diesel root too many , emissions malarkey on them, engine running way to hot to burn off tail pipe , particulates the engines are eating themselves, not good to put it back through the engine on regeneration cycle.

please stop nagging the non-adjustable armrest in the middle... you will have problem with me if this will be back to SKODA again... I had almost all generations of superb since 2003 and I am glad that finally they put a fix armrest, which by the way for me is a perfect match, much like in a 3 series BMW, okay there they still have a shifting knob which is ergonomically designed... so it was a long waited feature by me who drives around 35.000 miles per annum... not mentioning that adjustable version in the 1st generation was always getting broken after 10 years of use...

It's a shame there's no manual option. Auto only whether you like it or not 🤬🤬🤬
It's sad that manual options are dwindling - limited choice is one of the many problems of today's car models. In general, they are crap - too expensive, too complicated, technology that looks good on paper but will drive you up the wall, spoiled by excessive driving aids and emissions regulations, often overstyled, declining build quality, etc etc.
This new Superb is one of the better options for a new car, though. Looks nice, doesn't have everything buried into a touchscreen, and it's not a bloody crossover. Still, it's expensive for a Skoda, and you have to put up with an auto even if you don't want to.
