I just wanted to let you know how much I loved your video and your website that outlined everything. This was my first big woodworking project and I am so happy with how it came out. My wife has been working from home and really needed a computer desk. I was able to get this done in 4 days while she was out of town to surprise her when she got back. I look forward to the next thing that I will build using your guidance. Thank you so much!!
You know what else I like about your videos? You actually use your PPE which I hardly see anyone else do. Earplugs are a NECESSITY! And so is eye pro. Thank you for all the great projects that keep me busy! I usually make something close to how you described and then give it away to friends and family. Making your projects is a "decompressor" for me. Thank you again!
Just want to say a big thanks to you for posting these videos and plans for free. It is a real kindness to provide these valuable resources at no cost 🧡🤸♀️
THANK YOU ANA, for sharing with us your time, ideas, videos & diy plans. You honestly do not have to but we much appreciate it! Hope you have a great weekend & let's see that birdhouse :)
Wife asked me to build desks for the kids for them to do schoolwork. I picked your plan. It is my first woodworking project. Gonna try it out. Hope I keep my fingers.
MUY buena calidad, el texto imagenes. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO Un manuel muy completo y trabajado. Resulta muy práctico. Para principiantes y profesionales. Lo recomiendo
When making an X brace, if you mark the centers just as you did but then dado the centers by 1/2 The thickness of the material, you can install them as two pieces instead of 3. And all you would need is one screw to secure the center of your X. Also Kreg Jig makes a pocket hole plug cutter so you can plug all your pocket holes. I have one and if you cut them from the same scrap material they're almost invisible after sanding.
Built this with your plans, but modified a bit and made a few mistakes. But.....that's ok because I used COMPLETELY reclaimed wood and this is by far the most sturdy and stable thing I've ever built. Thanks for the the video! Will be attempting your loft bed plans soon, but first I'm putting in a pantry (framing the wall and all!!) using your pantry shelf video as well as laying plywood flooring! Appreciate all that you give the community for free!!
Your an inspiration 💕 today I built a work bench and a potato and onion box .. tomorrow I may build this 😊💕👍🏽 Thank you for giving me the confidence to get out in the shed and get creative 💕💕
I’m planning to do two desks like this for my small home music studio. I’ve seen lots of plans on RUclips, but yours is the best looking and appears to be the easiest to put together. Thanks for this video, I hope mine turns out as well as yours.
Really lovely desk and a great beginner project. You make it look so easy and that's the charm in your videos. My woodworking adventures started by watching your videos and built many stuff from you. I'd probably build it now with mortise and tenon joinery with halflaps for X braces but that requires equipment and knowledge not every person has. That's why your techniques are great for DIYers. I also like that you lowered the music when speaking. Makes for much better video quality. Best regards from Croatia
Your 'Rustic X' furniture is awesome. It all looks like it could be from Restoration Hardware (for thousands of dollars more!) I look forward to your videos every week :)
Gorgeous, sturdy, simple and you always generously offer free plans! Thanks Ana! I guess your next video will be a bird house? Mommy's boy being so patient.
I’m doing this desk in my advanced woodworking class at school. Doing a cedar top and pine logs for the legs. Wanted to do all cedar but that pricey. Very nice job!!
Ultimate work area? She has basic tools (except nice miter saw) and that's what I like about her builds. They are not the best excecuted or correctly built by fine woodworking but the her pieces will bring you into the craft for small amount of money and space. I got the pocket hole jig K4 because of her videos. I find I use it less now since I starve for better quality work today. But if someone wants something quick and cheap, nothing beats them.
i would like to take a moment to say thank you for your videos ,,,its refreshing to see someone who actually cares,,i watch alot of the steve ramsey videos wwmm and needless to say he never answers any questions,,plus is out there begging people to take his course and never responds to a simple question,,,,,honestly,,,,i think he is another ted mcgrath not going into detail about ted mcgrath ,,, and just for the record,,,,,you dont take a backseat to him on your videos,,,,i enjoy yours ,,,you are a good teacher
I love your videos. Your projects are so beautiful. Thank you, this looks so doable for a non professional builder. Your sound is fine on an I-pad, you live in a big state, big sound!! LOL
Nice looking desk. Any time I use dimensional lumber as 2x4’s I will square them up on the table saw and run them through the planer. IMO that makes the final look more finished.
Ana White! I love your videos! I wish the video quality was better! (Though it seems better in this video) Would you ever invest in more equipment? Like lighting, a steady cam? They have desk tripods and also the regular. That combined with the camera work (you can actually get programs that steady the shot later on) Your videos and your website have such great resources and I really want you to see that success here!!
Great job...thank you for making everything simple and with tools most DIY weekend warriors have. Good work on the editing to keep the content easy to follow as well.
I just love the Rusty X collection. Exspecily that golden oak color. My favorite color is golden pecan. I just love that natural wood look. Little man is getting so big & strong. Did you see how he helped Mommy Ana lift that table up on that work bench. Wow what are you feeding that Alaska boy... lol... Just good ole natural grass feed wild game, I hope I'm right? Whatever your doing. Keep it up, he's getting strong. :~) Thank you for sharing another great video of the fabulous collection Ana. You are the best. Now help little man build a birdhouse.... only if you've got scrape wood for him to learn on. Then tell him when he gets better, you'll get better quality for the grandest birdhouse of all time... lol... Good luck, Chris from Missouri
I love seeing you son working on his project. What an amazing family. You have an amazing selection of tools.. Can you give a names of the tools for this project. Thank you.
Those x’s prevent the outside legs from racking. Imagine what would happen if you pushed the top of the desk with the legs on the ground. Instead of a square, you’d have a parallelogram.
Ana, thank you for the plans for Rustic X farm house desk. This is the 2nd desk I made. The first was is for my wife. I wish I had found this RUclips video. Your instructions for the "X" feature is great. I'm not very experienced making decorative features. Do you offer a similar style shelf unit? Kind regards, Dave & Suzanne Chambers Lancaster Ca.
@@AnaWhiteDIY yes that is great! I would like a wood furnishings to add warmth to our office. Now we have metal shelves that maintains a cold environment. Kind regards, Dave & Suzanne Chambers
I love how for most of the video the center piece didn’t have the X and then when you started staining it did 😂 I was so confused because I could have sworn the finished desk at the beginning had three X’s and there were only two for most of the build
Spent about $80 for everything, and had to buy another 2 x 4. It calls for 3 but you need 4. Assuming you only have to buy wood, not stain or screws or nails, might come in around $50.

Look at little man helping the lady out. He's already starting out in the right direction. Building up them calluses.

Why didn’t I think of that! Thank you great tip!
@@AnaWhiteDIY I had the same thoughts, over here in England we'd call it a half lap joint.
@@MrKenhaigh has Lap Joint been trademarked by England? 🙄🙄🙄
Cannot say enough about how much I love the rustic X collection! I’ve made at least 10 of the pieces so far, keep up the great work!!

I like your projects and how you build them

Nice desk Ana! Thanks for sharing it with us! 💖👌👍😎JP
My goodness, Hayes is growing up so fast!! Excellent video. Thanks..
Hi ana, liked and subscribed this was such a great build now to watch some of your past builds
I love your miter saw set up. Mine is on a stand so I don't have stop blocks. A permanent bench is on my list in the near future.
It makes building so much more efficient! Thanks for watching:)
that was really helpful because i got people asking me for small desk mostly for kids so i can show them this design
I love your videos. Your projects are so beautiful. Thank you, this looks so doable for a non professional builder. Your sound is fine on an I-pad, you live in a big state, big sound!! LOL
makes me wanna buy that kreg jig right now
Doing this without one so the screws are visible, which is fine. But it's hard to hold in place with one person

I saw that!!! I saw that lil guy pick up the other end of the table, he's pretty strong 🏋️💪
The world needs more women like you! Women love this rustic crap but wont build it but are quick to buy it. Ive seen your other work Ana. Well done!
Way to generalize
I'm mid build right now and this is so cool. I'm relatively new to wood working and it seems to be going great so far!

Great work Ana 👍🏻🙌🏻
Nice job. I see you can put the support cross bar across the bottom back can be flip to the other side making a printer area on the left side.
Sure can!

Hello there and welcome!
Did your little helper get to build hid bird house? 🥰
I love seeing you son working on his project. What an amazing family. You have an amazing selection of tools.. Can you give a names of the tools for this project. Thank you.

Love your work!

looks great, nice job!!!
Good job Ana
Awesome table ❤
Thanks for the visit!
This desk is stunning! I will be making one this weekend. Unfortunately due to high prices the wood would now cost $90 instead of $50!
Have fun, hoping they come down soon!
Did you run the lumber through a planer? The corners look really tight for out-the-door lumber
I don't have the precision for this project ...........BUT HERE GOES !!!!
Love the design!!
I love how for most of the video the center piece didn’t have the X and then when you started staining it did 😂 I was so confused because I could have sworn the finished desk at the beginning had three X’s and there were only two for most of the build
Do you have plans for your cabinets? I really like the one that your saw sits on and has support for long lumber.
Love it will be making it in the afternoon. I was looking for a desk and it’s perfect. Would you also consider making a living room set??. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Very nice work.
Thank you very much!
Ana white eu te admiro muito um forte abraço desde Brasil
Where do you get your lumber? I’ve never seen 2x4s and especially 2x2s that straight from Lowe’s or Home Depot
We generally use a local mill or local builders supply here in Alaska. Finding straight boards can take some time.
Would be great to build a wardrobe in this style somehow?
What type of wood did you use, Did you use a planner to get your boards flat ? Where did you get the wood?
Spent about $80 for everything, and had to buy another 2 x 4. It calls for 3 but you need 4. Assuming you only have to buy wood, not stain or screws or nails, might come in around $50.
