I keep getting flashbacks of how I felt first time playing FFX. When that came out I would play for hours and not notice the time. I usually only play an hour or two at a time with most games but Rebirth I cannot put it down

Also: Your Chocobo doesn't run away when you do stuff like fighting or using buttons, meaning you don't have to call for it again. It follows you a little bit, ready to carry you. You don't have to push buttons to mount up, just stand close to your chocobo and cloud will sit on it. Collectables in groups will be all collected together, you don't have to click more than once and you can interact with stuff without leaving your chocobo, you can do that by riding. It's just perfect, loved it.
There's also an option in the settings that you can toggle where you can collect things automatically as you approach them on foot even when not on a chocobo.
Fun fact... you can get pretty close to midgar before infantryman will stop you. And, it's worth backtracking later to do more stuff. Reached junon and went back to Kalm, and all the dialogue changed based on where I am storywise.
But it is far from masterpiece ,when some of the challenges are insanely difficult, designed to make you lose , unbalanced and unfair ,idk if Devs were going through divorce or something,but that ain't cool
I absolutely loved Remake. But my God does Rebirth feel massive. The world is as massive as XV but feels way more alive. And there are so many fun and goofy things to do. And so many mini games. I actually need to go back and do more Chocobo racing just to see what different Chocobos can do.
I hate how many minigames there are. Just be a game. It's like steam for minigames. The original had minigames too but not in such abundance. It's bloat.

I have no problem with them eing parts if each part is as amazing and as inspired as this one. I spent more time with this in my first play through than any single ff title play through ever. It has never taken me 110+ to go over any ff game without it feeling like a grind. This game is what an adventure should feel like, and I'm glad I spent my money in it.

Best advice I can give is when you’re tired of playing, STOP PLAYING. It can become exhausting, you have to take rest periods and/or rest days, especially if your doing all quest
I am having so much fun with it. It is fast becoming my favorite game. I really hope that with all the assets, they get part 3 out soon, but I will wait as long as it takes for something this great.
Man I’m 36 married and work about 70 hours a week. Just gotta get that 2-3 hours in when you can and tell your wife this is a special situation and take your day off to play all day. That’s what I did. Its going on about 8 weeks and still only just cleared gongaga fully lol 😂

I started playing the remake i saw videos and loved the whole design and just how good the graphics were and designs to the smallest details and when i started playing a couple days ago i was shocked seeing the deisgn around midgar and the plates i was left speechless so beautiful and so much detail i havent regret getting this game a single bit yes some of the little quests are confusing and i hage to go on youtube for help but its worth it 😂😂😂this game is my life i fell in love with all the characters even more
I finished the game and cried the whole day afterwards. It still hurts to go back and continue playing even though I still have So much to do. The game is legendary.
Feel ya, i just couldn't get back to playing the game after finnishing the main story. Had to take some time off before hopping back on and starting my hard difficulty playthrough.
First time playing it felt overwhelming with how much there is to do. 7 has always been my favorite game and all the added storyline and lore it's amazing
I do feel like a decent chunk of the content is busy work, and it misses the serendipity of finding random new dungeons or smaller maps from wandering an over world map, but let's hope they get really saucy with the Bronco, Highwind, and Submarine in part 3.
Final Fantasy 7 no matter og or remake everything with FF7 in the name is my favorite videogame of all time but i hate almost every mini game in Rebirth and i was glad when i was done with everything
Idk I feel like saying more content and bigger map = better game isn’t a fair comparison. I do like Rebirth, but unfortunately the massive amount of content I think hurts a story that’s so intricate and deep as FF7’s, especially with this new trilogy that they have added way more layers of storyline onto. I like Rebirth, but Remake felt more like a Final Fantasy game to me.
I wouldn’t exactly say Rebirth has good exploration. There is no incentive to go out of your way to explore, you’re just following a checklist of things to do to complete every regional intel. You won’t find anything beyond that in the overworld.
People acting like this game was god's gift to gamers is wild. I knocked out 70 hours, going almost everything and can make a laundry list of issues holding the game back from being 'great'. Sure, it was often enjoyable, but they made so many weird decisions, the biggest of which being splitting the game into three parts in the first place. From a story perspective rebirth basically didn't have one, until about 2 hours before it ended. It was far from a bad game, but it absolutely was not an excellent one.
I also love how much faster Cloud strikes. Even if the DPS is technically lower, he looks more skilled now in his swings. Also the exploration is FANTASTIC. Like maybe the ingredient collecting is tedious and annoying, but I like the idea of a crafting system. Should just maybe be more reliable on getting drops from enemies or at least show what regions I can try and look for rare items.
finished rebirth with close to 50 hours, going next for the 200 for platinum. 70% was doint the intels and chadley. as much as i love the game hearing chadley beginning his unskippable cutscene with "cloud" was getting so infuriating bc i heard it every 10 minutes. 200 times

The side missions are actually goated. The character ones that is. The protorelics are also really good. the moogle ones are amusing and the live springs and moogle descovery isn’t very stimulating but it’s quick and it allows you to do cool boss battles. The content is so much that you don’t realize what it’s worth. but they are actually individually good if you know what you’re looking for
Right, I just did this. I have a HUGE change you can implement. Put Swiftcast-Fire on Aerith. You do NOT need it on Barret, as Haste will ALWAYS proc - the exception is Odin. Tank the hit, then Haste. It meant I could put Sephy in the stunlock when Barret was shadowy chained THE FIRST TIME, without manawall, and Sephiroth MELTED. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. Thank you so so much you beautiful man.
what you mean? just put in a couple hours here and there. you don't have to complete the game in a week. take months if you want. the longer it takes you the better in fact. get your money worth.

battle, cutscenes, music are incredible.i had small dissatisfaction with some changes like the end of dyne and how they heavily censored cids character and personality... i also didnt appreciate that the game held my hand on the exploration and showed me where everything is on the map. would loved to have more big bosses in the open world. overall positive experience.
To me this is the inverse of what was done to Mass Effect 1-2. As ME1 went from very open exploring and heavy on RPG mechanics. Then ME2 stream lined the RPG for a more direct focus game. Remake had the ME2 design were it had very tight story with very limited things to do outside it, and not to very much rewards for the player not just tunneling the main story. This is like ME 1 where it’s far more open while still having a strong story, but letting the player do a lot more things if they want to take in the game world. I am loving this, and hope it’s a trend for JRPG’s more so than what they have been going far. (Though tails games are like a lower budget version of this)
80 hours in just hit chapter 12, I have done all side content, mini games, and simulator battles as I go. Despite this, I am somehow not bored and do not feel the need to stop and play something else. I just can’t get enough, 10/10.
I am actually happy they managed to keep the original fans happy and entertained while bring out an entire knew Final Fantasy (FFXVI) within the last two years. Great job SquareEnix
So just knowing the story, it's crazy they got 2 games made from just 1 disc of the original. I know there's hardly any story in disc 2 and disc 3 was basically the final area, but this is crazy. But I also saw somewhere that the final game for the remake is supposed to be even bigger
I think my one genuine complaint is that it really doesn't feel like square gives you a second to breathe. With this whole emphasis of an world interlaced community and the fact the game actually has a ff8 esc adaptive difficultly, the sidequests would just straight up get dull; No matter how good your quests are, hell you can surpass xenoblade 3 and neo twewy's quest quality but both of those games recognized there was a point where it was too much, and would stop on the sidequest hill to let you breath. This game follows a lot of trappings botw 's sidequests had where the point wasn't the reward but the satisfaction of helping someone and it would literally be repayed you back a debt they will almost always answer. This worked in botw because there also wasn't an overly demanding and downright overpowered story to actively fight the side content. This game does and I'm pretty sure everyone i knew once they finally got to cosmo Canyon, was physically _drained_ and just wanted to finish the game
This game is a masterpiece. I’m still trying to beat the gilgamesh fight 100+ hours in. Like there is still content and I didn’t even do a completionist route or anything. Very rarely does it feel forced or padded, the game truly is a masterclass on what a good, fun modern RPG can be.
This might be a hot take....But... like did we need 30 world intels per region... felt kind of like an easy way to pad out the game... did we need 47 mini games that arent fun... the story was amazing and the combat was great... but this game is far from perfect. There is no genuine exploration, no missable areas... this game is on rails. The same 30 POIs on every map isnt exploration... its busy work.
would be a 10/10 if not for the mini games with crappy rewards for extreme skill required to get the highest score, cait smith's chapter, being forced to use what is easily the worst character in the game, the crappy mini games like the one with the robots and CHADLEY. he alone drops the rating down. he's annoying, he won't stfu when I'm just trying to access materia or combat sim, he doesn't fit in with characters in terms of his clothing, he's weird, the fact that they took away the joy of finding good materia lying around in secret places and just put it here as a reward for Intel and the fact that so much of the game is more about doing Intel for him. it's great that there's so much to do, but I would've preferred more story. they easily could've done the whole rest of the game, but all these side quests are what take up so much space and a lot of them aren't even worth doing or are ridiculously difficult for no reason. the whole fiend assessment thing feels out of place too, like the game is taking us on a wildlife tour with these annoying characters narrating everything. honestly if chadley wasn't a thing and good materia was really hidden in the game, this would be 10/10.
Actually while everything looks great and it is nice to have an open world, so far I'd rate the game a 7/10. The battle system is still annoying but then again you barely ever get to fight since there's minigame after minigame after minigame. At chapter 9 currently and I get the feeling that the majority of fights that I did came from one battlle simulator or another. In that regard it doesn't feel like the original where I got to fight way more. Sometimes the huge maps outside of towns feel so empty cause there are barely any enemies. The side quests could be better scripted as well, most of them so far were rather boring. What I liked were the small task like finding treasures in the area, the way they implemented chocobos and the minigame to get them, Queens Blood is fun, the story is nicely told and engaging (when you're not constantly interrupted by minigames) and I really like how every character has their own fighting style. Imo the game would have been better had it been balanced some more, e.g. after Costa del Minigames we pretty quickly go to Gold Saucer which is also full of minigames. Reduce the minigames, give me a few more side quests and more battle options in the open world areas and it would be a lot better. Additionally please just let me use my summons when I want to like in the original.
I’m So Glad They Made The World As Huge As We Thought It Was, Back On PS1. Man, They’ve Killed It With This Installment of Final Fantasy, Even It Is A Remake, It Puts Final Fantasy X To Shame.
Honestly I was overwhelmed by this. Wish if they'd lessen the exploration abit. Like we didn't need crystals, relics, alot of mini games. Just crystals and the fights plus abit of mini games would be enough. This isn't Tears of The Kingdom but that's just my opinion
Cosmo Canyon is actually surprisingly small. It looks huge on the world map, but only after you eliminate all of the surrounding canyons do you realize it’s not that big. The town is dope though.
Love Queens Blood. Learn the game. Build your decks, it's like chess meets Pokémon. I'm having a cakewalk squashing my opponents because I mastered it. It's part strategy, part luck and pure fun.
I have 3 major issues with exploration. #1. Remna towers do not reveal the map >_> this is stupid. #2. Sometimes the Chocobo's and Cloud bug out on terrain. #3. We're stuck with Cloud most of the time. =/ It would have been way fun if I could run around as the others, and include other ways to get around. Maybe they wouldn't be MANDATORY, but maybe some shortcuts where you run up some walls with Red. Or Yuffie/Tifa can just hop up higher than Cloud can. And Barret/Yuffie/Aerith could hit boxes and such far away xD AND LET ME GET THAT GRAPPLING HOOK BACK :
spoiler, it is the entire map. and its massive :3 i am 80 hours in and only reached the Niebelheim region. but i need to pause ff7 rebirth and play Stellar Blade for a week before it gets completely canceld lol

Im over 60 hours in and havent completed the game in fact im only on chapter 9 of 13 or 14 plus many of the mini games are bot avle to be completed till endgame and then theres all of hard mode im in it for im guessing 200 hours and im absolutely loving it i never could have dreamed theyd do this to my favorite game.
Yea, you get some summons for Remake save data but like Helio said the game would be horribly unbalanced if we kept our gear. Plus, it also works with the ludo-narrative in that the characters completely change the universe of FFVII at the end of Remake so losing the gear makes sense narratively. Like, maybe after killing Fate itself the force exuded by that fight just completely wrecked their equipment. And given that it’s their first time out of Midgar fighting wild fiends the level drop to 15 from 50 also makes sense mechanically and narratively.
Only way thatd work for me is level capping everything i.e. lv 33 for remake, lv 66 for rebirth, lv 99 for whatever part 3 is going to be called probably “reunion”
Waiting for all those geniuses reviewing the game to disregard the "devil may cry" insults they threw out at FF16 that could easily be applied to this game style. Reason why they won't make that reference? This pulls on their childhood/teenaged heartstrings.
I can’t really play the game since it is Playstation exclusive (and my pc would have a meltdown if I play a massive game on it.), but I have been watching a playthrough of it. It is indefinitely a game I would have played. I got into squareenix when the first kingdom hearts was released and slowly opened to FF games. I just have to listen to friends who have the game complain about the open world and mini games and side missions and… you get it.
This game is awesome and I still havent finished it yet even with 50h so far. It's not just for the content but the cinematics and story is so well done. Even if I played the OG more than once and I know most of what is gonna happen storywise, I'm in a roller coaster of emotion with laughing my head off and being left speechless and shocked by some scene I witnessed so far.
I mean both have 2 different directors overseeing the game development . And i doubt they atep on eachother toes trying to push there ideas on other vision. Beaids 16 story wise wasnt bad i even dare to say was better than 15 boyband fantasy . Problem was simply was as close to hallway simulator as it can get what isnt apealing to modern gamers.
Honestly you can throw a dart at any of the original Squaresoft FF and youll have a good adventure. For classic pixel style FF6 is typically considered the community favorite (some say even the best FF), I really like FF5 for it's rendition of the job system. Ps1 era you can't go wrong with OG FF7/9 (FF9 is my personal fav as well as the creator of the series, lotta people love 8 but its also kinda the black sheep among fans i feel like) Lotta people love FFX as well.

The problem is that 1) in other games, side quest may be interesting or at least fun to play (here, except the card game....) 2 ) it's not just for trophies, it's for usefull obejct actually.
Most of the mini games are rage inducing. Like the soccer game, the mini boxing game, the sit ups, cactus picture hunt. It's a beautiful game, tho. Ps, you can't play Vincent valentines 😓

Bruh, it's SIDE content. You don't have to play it. You're complaining for the sake of complaining, and Remake definitely had way more fluff that was baked into the actual progression of the story.
I’m enjoying rebirth quite a bit but please dont act like it’s full of content. Going the Ubisoft route of climbing towers, syncing to crystals, and so on is not quality content. It’s filler at best to increase the time on the clock.
Yeah, they could fool me. The locations look good, I have to give that to them. But the content? Not that much. And the quests are pretty boring, they're basically the same thing you had in the first part. I'm also getting real tired of characters making pauses after a sentence. I literally want a 1.5x speed button on some cut-scenes
Uhhg I guess. I sure was having fun walking up to a crystal and pushing triangle three times over and over. And we all know finding a tower to climb to unlock some of the map is a really fresh new idea. They could have cut half of that shit and just given us more battles to win and it would have been better. I like the side quests and the different protonrelic mini games, but some of the other stuff was just busy work.
I don't know why I was getting genshin vibes when the map appeared. Though anything is better than the back tracking the first ff7 remake did with the sewers.

The Fort Condor game using the original models was an awesome touch.
Fort Condor game was introduced in intermission with yuffie dlc on remake. Not unique to rebirth. Queens blood is though.

I took what was meant be a few days off from playing Rebirth and realised I wasn't missing it. I never bothered going back to finish it.
@RebornRockerVids felt that way after playing spider man 2 for a hour, the last star wars game, the last call of duty, any an every persona game.

A lot of story and content comes from side stuff. Kinda like BG3 origin stories having a lot of story most don't see. Definitely worth 100%ing

I started playing the remake i saw videos and loved the whole design and just how good the graphics were and designs to the smallest details and when i started playing a couple days ago i was shocked seeing the deisgn around midgar and the plates i was left speechless so beautiful and so much detail i havent regret getting this game a single bit yes some of the little quests are confusing and i hage to go on youtube for help but its worth it 😂😂😂this game is my life i fell in love with all the characters even more
I finished the game and cried the whole day afterwards. It still hurts to go back and continue playing even though I still have So much to do. The game is legendary.

I do feel like a decent chunk of the content is busy work, and it misses the serendipity of finding random new dungeons or smaller maps from wandering an over world map, but let's hope they get really saucy with the Bronco, Highwind, and Submarine in part 3.

Final Fantasy 7 no matter og or remake everything with FF7 in the name is my favorite videogame of all time but i hate almost every mini game in Rebirth and i was glad when i was done with everything
Idk I feel like saying more content and bigger map = better game isn’t a fair comparison. I do like Rebirth, but unfortunately the massive amount of content I think hurts a story that’s so intricate and deep as FF7’s, especially with this new trilogy that they have added way more layers of storyline onto.
I like Rebirth, but Remake felt more like a Final Fantasy game to me.
I wouldn’t exactly say Rebirth has good exploration. There is no incentive to go out of your way to explore, you’re just following a checklist of things to do to complete every regional intel. You won’t find anything beyond that in the overworld.

People acting like this game was god's gift to gamers is wild. I knocked out 70 hours, going almost everything and can make a laundry list of issues holding the game back from being 'great'. Sure, it was often enjoyable, but they made so many weird decisions, the biggest of which being splitting the game into three parts in the first place. From a story perspective rebirth basically didn't have one, until about 2 hours before it ended. It was far from a bad game, but it absolutely was not an excellent one.

I also love how much faster Cloud strikes. Even if the DPS is technically lower, he looks more skilled now in his swings.
Also the exploration is FANTASTIC. Like maybe the ingredient collecting is tedious and annoying, but I like the idea of a crafting system. Should just maybe be more reliable on getting drops from enemies or at least show what regions I can try and look for rare items.

finished rebirth with close to 50 hours, going next for the 200 for platinum. 70% was doint the intels and chadley. as much as i love the game hearing chadley beginning his unskippable cutscene with "cloud" was getting so infuriating bc i heard it every 10 minutes. 200 times
I’m absolutely blown away by the quality of this game. In every respect they just seemed to have nailed it so hard. Easily GOTY for me it’s not even in doubt

The side missions are actually goated. The character ones that is. The protorelics are also really good. the moogle ones are amusing and the live springs and moogle descovery isn’t very stimulating but it’s quick and it allows you to do cool boss battles. The content is so much that you don’t realize what it’s worth. but they are actually individually good if you know what you’re looking for

Put Swiftcast-Fire on Aerith. You do NOT need it on Barret, as Haste will ALWAYS proc - the exception is Odin. Tank the hit, then Haste. It meant I could put Sephy in the stunlock when Barret was shadowy chained THE FIRST TIME, without manawall, and Sephiroth MELTED. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.

battle, cutscenes, music are incredible.i had small dissatisfaction with some changes like the end of dyne and how they heavily censored cids character and personality... i also didnt appreciate that the game held my hand on the exploration and showed me where everything is on the map. would loved to have more big bosses in the open world. overall positive experience.

To me this is the inverse of what was done to Mass Effect 1-2. As ME1 went from very open exploring and heavy on RPG mechanics. Then ME2 stream lined the RPG for a more direct focus game.
Remake had the ME2 design were it had very tight story with very limited things to do outside it, and not to very much rewards for the player not just tunneling the main story.
This is like ME 1 where it’s far more open while still having a strong story, but letting the player do a lot more things if they want to take in the game world.
I am loving this, and hope it’s a trend for JRPG’s more so than what they have been going far. (Though tails games are like a lower budget version of this)
80 hours in just hit chapter 12, I have done all side content, mini games, and simulator battles as I go. Despite this, I am somehow not bored and do not feel the need to stop and play something else. I just can’t get enough, 10/10.

Im over 100 hours into the game on my first play through. I havent beaten it yet but Im also completing everything before moving on
So just knowing the story, it's crazy they got 2 games made from just 1 disc of the original. I know there's hardly any story in disc 2 and disc 3 was basically the final area, but this is crazy.
But I also saw somewhere that the final game for the remake is supposed to be even bigger

I think my one genuine complaint is that it really doesn't feel like square gives you a second to breathe.
With this whole emphasis of an world interlaced community and the fact the game actually has a ff8 esc adaptive difficultly, the sidequests would just straight up get dull; No matter how good your quests are, hell you can surpass xenoblade 3 and neo twewy's quest quality but both of those games recognized there was a point where it was too much, and would stop on the sidequest hill to let you breath.
This game follows a lot of trappings botw 's sidequests had where the point wasn't the reward but the satisfaction of helping someone and it would literally be repayed you back a debt they will almost always answer.
This worked in botw because there also wasn't an overly demanding and downright overpowered story to actively fight the side content.
This game does and I'm pretty sure everyone i knew once they finally got to cosmo Canyon, was physically _drained_ and just wanted to finish the game

This game is a masterpiece. I’m still trying to beat the gilgamesh fight 100+ hours in. Like there is still content and I didn’t even do a completionist route or anything. Very rarely does it feel forced or padded, the game truly is a masterclass on what a good, fun modern RPG can be.
This might be a hot take....But... like did we need 30 world intels per region... felt kind of like an easy way to pad out the game... did we need 47 mini games that arent fun... the story was amazing and the combat was great... but this game is far from perfect. There is no genuine exploration, no missable areas... this game is on rails. The same 30 POIs on every map isnt exploration... its busy work.

would be a 10/10 if not for the mini games with crappy rewards for extreme skill required to get the highest score, cait smith's chapter, being forced to use what is easily the worst character in the game, the crappy mini games like the one with the robots and CHADLEY. he alone drops the rating down. he's annoying, he won't stfu when I'm just trying to access materia or combat sim, he doesn't fit in with characters in terms of his clothing, he's weird, the fact that they took away the joy of finding good materia lying around in secret places and just put it here as a reward for Intel and the fact that so much of the game is more about doing Intel for him. it's great that there's so much to do, but I would've preferred more story. they easily could've done the whole rest of the game, but all these side quests are what take up so much space and a lot of them aren't even worth doing or are ridiculously difficult for no reason. the whole fiend assessment thing feels out of place too, like the game is taking us on a wildlife tour with these annoying characters narrating everything. honestly if chadley wasn't a thing and good materia was really hidden in the game, this would be 10/10.

Actually while everything looks great and it is nice to have an open world, so far I'd rate the game a 7/10. The battle system is still annoying but then again you barely ever get to fight since there's minigame after minigame after minigame. At chapter 9 currently and I get the feeling that the majority of fights that I did came from one battlle simulator or another. In that regard it doesn't feel like the original where I got to fight way more. Sometimes the huge maps outside of towns feel so empty cause there are barely any enemies. The side quests could be better scripted as well, most of them so far were rather boring.
What I liked were the small task like finding treasures in the area, the way they implemented chocobos and the minigame to get them, Queens Blood is fun, the story is nicely told and engaging (when you're not constantly interrupted by minigames) and I really like how every character has their own fighting style.
Imo the game would have been better had it been balanced some more, e.g. after Costa del Minigames we pretty quickly go to Gold Saucer which is also full of minigames. Reduce the minigames, give me a few more side quests and more battle options in the open world areas and it would be a lot better. Additionally please just let me use my summons when I want to like in the original.

Honestly I was overwhelmed by this. Wish if they'd lessen the exploration abit. Like we didn't need crystals, relics, alot of mini games. Just crystals and the fights plus abit of mini games would be enough. This isn't Tears of The Kingdom but that's just my opinion

Cosmo Canyon is actually surprisingly small. It looks huge on the world map, but only after you eliminate all of the surrounding canyons do you realize it’s not that big. The town is dope though.
Og is still too good. Rebirth was a major step back imo, even with the tech advancements.

Love Queens Blood. Learn the game. Build your decks, it's like chess meets Pokémon. I'm having a cakewalk squashing my opponents because I mastered it. It's part strategy, part luck and pure fun.

I have 3 major issues with exploration.
#1. Remna towers do not reveal the map >_> this is stupid.
#2. Sometimes the Chocobo's and Cloud bug out on terrain.
#3. We're stuck with Cloud most of the time. =/ It would have been way fun if I could run around as the others, and include other ways to get around. Maybe they wouldn't be MANDATORY, but maybe some shortcuts where you run up some walls with Red. Or Yuffie/Tifa can just hop up higher than Cloud can. And Barret/Yuffie/Aerith could hit boxes and such far away xD AND LET ME GET THAT GRAPPLING HOOK BACK :
spoiler, it is the entire map. and its massive :3 i am 80 hours in and only reached the Niebelheim region. but i need to pause ff7 rebirth and play Stellar Blade for a week before it gets completely canceld lol

Im over 60 hours in and havent completed the game in fact im only on chapter 9 of 13 or 14 plus many of the mini games are bot avle to be completed till endgame and then theres all of hard mode im in it for im guessing 200 hours and im absolutely loving it i never could have dreamed theyd do this to my favorite game.

It does. If you have remake it gives you leviathan. But accepting your lvled up material would make the game boring and unbalanced.
Yea, you get some summons for Remake save data but like Helio said the game would be horribly unbalanced if we kept our gear. Plus, it also works with the ludo-narrative in that the characters completely change the universe of FFVII at the end of Remake so losing the gear makes sense narratively. Like, maybe after killing Fate itself the force exuded by that fight just completely wrecked their equipment. And given that it’s their first time out of Midgar fighting wild fiends the level drop to 15 from 50 also makes sense mechanically and narratively.
Only way thatd work for me is level capping everything i.e. lv 33 for remake, lv 66 for rebirth, lv 99 for whatever part 3 is going to be called probably “reunion”

I can’t really play the game since it is Playstation exclusive (and my pc would have a meltdown if I play a massive game on it.), but I have been watching a playthrough of it. It is indefinitely a game I would have played. I got into squareenix when the first kingdom hearts was released and slowly opened to FF games. I just have to listen to friends who have the game complain about the open world and mini games and side missions and… you get it.
This game is awesome and I still havent finished it yet even with 50h so far. It's not just for the content but the cinematics and story is so well done. Even if I played the OG more than once and I know most of what is gonna happen storywise, I'm in a roller coaster of emotion with laughing my head off and being left speechless and shocked by some scene I witnessed so far.
So many people worrying about spoilers is kind of funny. Just stop following coverage until the game is released?

I mean both have 2 different directors overseeing the game development . And i doubt they atep on eachother toes trying to push there ideas on other vision. Beaids 16 story wise wasnt bad i even dare to say was better than 15 boyband fantasy . Problem was simply was as close to hallway simulator as it can get what isnt apealing to modern gamers.

Honestly you can throw a dart at any of the original Squaresoft FF and youll have a good adventure. For classic pixel style FF6 is typically considered the community favorite (some say even the best FF), I really like FF5 for it's rendition of the job system.
Ps1 era you can't go wrong with OG FF7/9 (FF9 is my personal fav as well as the creator of the series, lotta people love 8 but its also kinda the black sheep among fans i feel like) Lotta people love FFX as well.

The problem is that 1) in other games, side quest may be interesting or at least fun to play (here, except the card game....) 2 ) it's not just for trophies, it's for usefull obejct actually.
Most of the mini games are rage inducing. Like the soccer game, the mini boxing game, the sit ups, cactus picture hunt. It's a beautiful game, tho. Ps, you can't play Vincent valentines 😓

I’m enjoying rebirth quite a bit but please dont act like it’s full of content. Going the Ubisoft route of climbing towers, syncing to crystals, and so on is not quality content. It’s filler at best to increase the time on the clock.
Yeah, they could fool me. The locations look good, I have to give that to them. But the content? Not that much. And the quests are pretty boring, they're basically the same thing you had in the first part.
I'm also getting real tired of characters making pauses after a sentence. I literally want a 1.5x speed button on some cut-scenes

Uhhg I guess. I sure was having fun walking up to a crystal and pushing triangle three times over and over. And we all know finding a tower to climb to unlock some of the map is a really fresh new idea. They could have cut half of that shit and just given us more battles to win and it would have been better. I like the side quests and the different protonrelic mini games, but some of the other stuff was just busy work.
I don't know why I was getting genshin vibes when the map appeared.
Though anything is better than the back tracking the first ff7 remake did with the sewers.
