Both, though with the remakes being a way to get new content out of a game I've already beaten like 7+ times, they will be getting most of my ff7 attention for quite some time. Also there is a "Death Claw" enemy in FF7 Rebirth and Dark Claw is basically just a Death Claw reskin that can use Falcon Punch.
Extra tips: - The three hit ranged attack synergy skill Cloud gets with Red and Barret has a secret fourth and slightly more powerful shot if you press the stance button (triangle) at the end of the three hit synergy skill combo, plus it lets you quickly activate punisher mode. - You can swap characters in combat by pressing up or down on the dpad, everyone knows that, but if you press up or down on the dpad WHILE holding the block button R1, the character you control will teleport (I think the game calls it Tag Team attack) to the enemy and immediately start hitting him, so you can go crazy chaining attacks. Really useful. - You can manually trigger Cait Sith’s Moogle Kaboom ability (the one that makes his moogle swallow a bomb and explode when the moogle HP is depleted) by using the dodge dive ability, which destroys the moogle. No more waiting for enemies to destroy it, Cait Sith becomes an AOE damage beast with this! - Some of you might not have noticed this, there are different attack animations depending on when you press the stance button with Cloud to activate Punisher mode. You can counter AND perfect counter by simply pressing triangle the moment the enemy attacks, instead of R1. You can do a Helm Splitter to quickly drop flying enemies or go back to the ground with a heavy attack if you press triangle mid air during an air combo. You can quickly move behind the enemy and avoid a front hit with a fast slash by pressing triangle during the repeating slashes of the punisher mode combo. Super useful too. - Yuffie’s Foxflame synergy skill changes elements according to her current ninjutsu element, really useful to pressure enemies weak to an elemental type and break enemy parts. ✌️✌️✌️✌️
@@vr6volkspower The tag team attack is awesome to keep the pressure on an enemy, I like to launch enemies with the first hit of the punisher mode combo as Cloud, then quickly tag team with Tifa or Yuffie, because they come out already attacking the enemy mid air if you do it against a launched opponent
On number 1, after pressing triangle, you can input the synergy ability command again to perform another stronger attack, which you can then follow up with another triangle and repeat the cycle from the starting 3 attacks.

OG 7 player here. I obsessed with 7 as a teen and beat it multiple times and owned several strategy guide books. I went back and beat Remake for a 2nd time and Intergrade for the first. I just finished that yesterday (2/28) and I am so excited for this!
Bought a ps5 to play this. I went through crisis core, got the Ff7 remake platinum, watched Advent children complete in anticipation. Game is amazing. Was not ready for the opening.
The expand command shortcut is a game changer, I felt the other option where L2 and R2 was useless if I wanted to pause I’ll press X then L2 or R2 to choose the character
OG! Not going to lie, when the original game came out, like 27 years ago now, I used to imagine that I was Cloud and absolutely fell in love with the OG game! This new game though, blows away even my own imagination from back then! They did such an amazing job!
Genuinely ridiculously useful video. Got the game yesterday, gotta go work for 8 hours and then i can squeeze in another gaming session. With GENUINELY VERY USEFUL TIPS. Wtf im shocked.

I absolutely love your vid even tho I’ve played through the game and have like 120 hours I learned something new from this! You make really informative vids that are really well made! Bravo! Og player here who got really into the game right around the time advent children came out, then crisis core, that was my adolescence and that world and story means so much to me! Seeing places I’ve only ever imagined in hyper triple A graphics! Recognizing the characters dialogue spoken out loud rather than me and my friends individually voicing out the text! I cry!
Both - this was some great info. I am on Chapter 8 now - currently going after the protorelic in Corel. Cactaurs are as annoying as they have ever been! My tips: 1) Equip the "Auto Wepon Ability" Materia on everyone so whoever is not being controlled pops off an ability; 2) Barett's Iron Shield (default: R1+X or R1+O) is extremely useful for damage reduction and he gets lots of ATB using it.
Most of the options things listed I never knew as I never go in there. Other's are nice to know so video was overall very helpful. As for liking the game, I am loving it. It brings back Nostalgic moments while introducing new ones. Also everytime I see Tifa on the screen it's like seeing a Celebrity I really like lol.
OG here. BTW super helpful video. Doing everything I can to avoid comments though and all because I want to experience the surprises here on my own. Just in the beginning when you get to control you-know-who, I lost it.
I love the Grandhorn card, but I think it's being overpraised here. There are quite a few cards that are played as replacements, with many others allowing you to "move" the power of the card you're discarding to another one in play. Also, your opponent can play these cards too, so just because it _looks_ like you took your opponent's last spot, they could drop a replacement and claim one or more of those remaining slots back for themselves. Not to mention the main downside of replacement cards, which is that they cannot be played any other way. Having too many in your deck can back you into a corner where you can't play cards on open slots and advance your board control. It's just one of many tools in a well-rounded QB deck.
OG 7. I actually did a 100% (all achievements, sidequests, etc) run of ffvii before playing Rebirth. I had already platinumed ffvii Remake before. But man, this entry in the series is just unforgettable. This might be a take, but Rebirth is just about everything I wanted out of ffxvi but didn’t get.

Thanks for the useful tips! I’m a Remake only guy. I’ve always known about the popular ff7 characters and the amazing soundtrack, but I’ve never played the original. Maybe I’ll play it after rebirth:)
I can finally watch videos after beating the story in 72 hours. Grandhorn really elevated my Queen's Blood decks once I started using them. I like using decks where you destroy your own cards to power up cards like Tonberry. So much fun.
OG - I'm a 71 year old Grandma who has been playing Final Fantasy since it first came out on Nintendo. I played every version to 13 and then switched to Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Skyrim, then Horizen Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. I was really looking forward to the remake for FFVII and am playing it now. So far, I liked the original much better but I'm getting used to the new version. I'm only on Chapter 4 so still early in the game. It doesn't seem as open world as the original and I'm not crazy about the mini games or the card game but liking the battle system.
I'm 43 years old, so both. I bought the first FF7 before I even had a Playstation to play it on, because I've been such a huge for so long. I played the original on the NES when it was new. I was 7 at the time, and loved it.
OG fan here! Fancy seeing another Boomstick around! You showed up on my recommended when I've been trying to keep myself from getting spoiled from Rebirth~ Great tips!
OG player here, I started the game at 4am on Thursday, and finished it at 4:30am Saturday. I did it mostly to avoid reading any spoilers online, and to form my own opinion. I liked Rebirth a lot. The added stuff definitely changes things in a few ways, and I am here for it. Sure, the finale leaves a lot of questions, but that is what excites me. If it ends the same, so be it, but I think they are going to change things up for the ending in a few ways. I just have to decide now if I am going to go back and play through all the stuff I skipped, or wait for the better graphics, and higher frame rates when it comes to pc.
OG - Rebirth is an awesome game, a dream come true. So often they say not to replay games you loved as a kid cause they aged poorly. FF7 is giving me the opportunity to re-live a Teen hype with today's graphics while keeping the content new and exciting! I loved the complexity of this installment and can't wait for the conclusion in act 3!
OG player; FF7 and FF8 were the first Final Fantasy games I ever played on the PS1 at 12 years old. Now I'm 32 playing the remake. I can't believe I'm getting the privilege of playing one of my all time favorite childhood games as an adult in such a way that makes it feel like I'm playing/experiencing the story for the FIRST TIME again while simultaneously enjoying nostalgia for a story I am realizing I both know extremely well and not at all I hope this marks an era of Final Fantasy Remakes. I would LOVE to see 8, 9, 10/10-2, 12 and the 13 saga get this treatment
Just a heads-up, you can always access your active party members' command shortcuts by holding L1 and the pressing L2/R2. Ig it's an extra button to hold or an extra thing to have to think about during combat, but it's always available without needing to tweak the options.
I'd never played the original game before playing the remake/rebirth games, but I played the demo for Rebirth and the scene with the cameraman happened taking the picture of Tifa/Cloud/Sephiroth, and I said to myself "This is such a weirdly specific moment that it feels ripped entirely from the original game, and yet I've never heard of it." It was sort of a moment of realizing that my pop culture and general Final Fantasy fan knowledge might be enough to get me through the games, but not enough to know everything that was going on. So I bought the original game and played it and found myself having a surprisingly good time with a game that for all of its deconstruction elements is a lot deeper and wackier than pop culture or Square themselves would acknowledge. Looking at you, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus. Anyway, I've played Remake at this point and am taking a break before getting to Rebirth.
OG. Ff7 was my first game and the ps1 was my first console I bought with my own money from teaching karate and cleaning the dojo. Haha. Loved that game. Played through I think 5-6 times. I’m 135 hours in and finishing up all the dark matter missions so I can have the Genji armor. Of the 11 tips, 3 were new to me so this video is super helpful for ANYONE just starting the game. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.
Great tips! Especially the dodge, shortcuts and battlecam will come in handy. Also I've completely missed the potential of Grandhorn in QB, so frustrating when the AI blocks your route when you're about to unveil your masterplan! Time to put Grandhorn in my strategy
OG, 7 was actually my first ever RPG back when I was a kid. I’m glad that I haven’t missed any of these mechanics, though I definitely need to use the synergy skills more now that I’m in Ch. 11 of hard mode. Either way I’ve gotta wait for that G-Bike patch so I can continue the hunt for platinum. Not looking forward to the final boss on hard lol
Any game that has shortcuts I love. It was the biggest thing that held back forspoken for me. I didn’t want my abilities to auto rotate, I couldn’t turn it off, and I had no shortcuts!!
Cool stuff. Will definitely update some settings once i get to play again. The battles seem a bit too convoluted so far especially compared to remake. There's just so much to do. Not entirely a bad thing though, the game's definitely lots enjoyable
Both - awesome video, great tips. The team mate dodge sounds like it would take some practice to pull off consistently but would really benefit, especially on hard mode
I only ever got to the temple of the ancients in the the original (I think that’s the name of the place that Aerith… you know). So I’m pleasantly surprised at just how accurate remake and rebirth have been and I’m enjoying all the new little additions to expand the story. My favourite new addition are the black robes. They give an actual reasonable explanation to why the party goes to certain locations, rather than just stumbling into the next plot point coincidentally
I got a pro controller and love the button mapping, so I can customise it in a more convenient configuration, example is that I swapped l1 and r1 to the back panel button, which frees up my fingers for r2 and l2.
OG. But I forgot most of the story, so I'm scratching my head playing rebirth. I'm like, what the hell happened in the original game!? I remember the major parts but totally forgot the small details.

If it ends the same, so be it, but I think they are going to change things up for the ending in a few ways. I just have to decide now if I am going to go back and play through all the stuff I skipped, or wait for the better graphics, and higher frame rates when it comes to pc.
always so quick and detailed, thanks Alex
OG - Rebirth is an awesome game, a dream come true. So often they say not to replay games you loved as a kid cause they aged poorly. FF7 is giving me the opportunity to re-live a Teen hype with today's graphics while keeping the content new and exciting! I loved the complexity of this installment and can't wait for the conclusion in act 3!
OG player; FF7 and FF8 were the first Final Fantasy games I ever played on the PS1 at 12 years old.
Now I'm 32 playing the remake. I can't believe I'm getting the privilege of playing one of my all time favorite childhood games as an adult in such a way that makes it feel like I'm playing/experiencing the story for the FIRST TIME again while simultaneously enjoying nostalgia for a story I am realizing I both know extremely well and not at all
I hope this marks an era of Final Fantasy Remakes. I would LOVE to see 8, 9, 10/10-2, 12 and the 13 saga get this treatment
Great tips I wasnt aware of. Thanks!
OG! I’m chapter 9 and having a great time. That alt character dodge mechanic blew my mind.
OG here. Thanks for the tips. These were great!
These are actually awesome tips, wish I knew about most of these at the start, just hit chapter 13 😂 Good work mate!
Man this is good! I knew the combat was deep but didn't know there was this much flexibility.
Love both the OG and the Remake project
OG over here. I was 16 in 1997 when i first play FF7. Its been my favorite game since. I still play it once a year.
Just got out off the first open zone with everything done (rn entered chapter 3) and love everything so far! Going for the platinum as well
This is the best tips and tricks video for this game on RUclips. Thank you. OG here I guess.
Both - awesome video, great tips. The team mate dodge sounds like it would take some practice to pull off consistently but would really benefit, especially on hard mode
I was playing this over the weekend and was like I need some Boomstick tips on this game. Sure enough video. Thanks
Oh man that mini map option is a game changer for me because I definitely prefer that over the standard tracker!
Love the tips! And Love the game. Played the original years ago, and now playing it again, switching between the og and Rebirth.
Dude. This is actual useful information. I didn't know a lot of this stuff! Thanks for this! (OG FF7 here!)
This helps a lot. I bought it a while ago but just started playing it this week. I’ve played the both OG and remake 😎 love them both
Thanks man! I have terrible drift and the lock on tip is game changer for me! Now I don't have to use the damn sticks to switch targets😂
The goat with the quick tip video
OG, still have my jewel case copy. Have also played it on switch. I have 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 on my switch. Love that thing.
OG and loving the remakes. I’m a little over 80hrs in and just started ch12 im loving every bit of it.
OG back in 1997 and throughout the years…and now remake and Rebirth both are awesome!
I got a pro controller and love the button mapping, so I can customise it in a more convenient configuration, example is that I swapped l1 and r1 to the back panel button, which frees up my fingers for r2 and l2.
OG. Also, thank you so much for this list! I'm configuring my menu settings for the battle camera especially.
OG for sure, but loving the new stuff! Thanks for the tips!
OG and Both when i comes out. Seems like they change most of what i feel was lacking in the first remake :D So this 100% a play for me.
OG. But I forgot most of the story, so I'm scratching my head playing rebirth. I'm like, what the hell happened in the original game!? I remember the major parts but totally forgot the small details.
102 hours in and you still told me stuff I didn’t know, very well done.
OG I played this for hours yesterday and I love it. Thanks for the video
This is the exact video I was looking for. The other videos just tells you what the game already tells you if you just read the tutorial
Just wanted to add to the Queen's Blood tips: combine destroying your own cards with a Tonberry King that gets stronger with every destroyed ally card
This is incredibly useful. Best video of this kind easily
