- In this Video Lecture, Professor Fink describes how O2 [Oxygen] is transported in the bloodstream. Reference is made to the normal Partial Pressure of O2 in the Alveoli & dissolved in the Blood Plasma of 100 mm Hg [Torr], the "uploading" of O2 by the Hemoglobin in the RBCs [Red Blood Cells], the normal Hemoglobin Content of the blood of 15 gm Hb/100 ml of blood, the normal % O2 Saturation of Hemoglobin of 98%, and the normal volume % O2 carried in every 100 ml of oxygenated blood of 20 ml O2 %. Professor Fink also describes how changes in [CO2] , [H+] , & temperature affect the "affinity" of Hemoglobin for O2 and how this promotes "unloading" of O2 out in the active tissues.

wow this is awesome and very relevant to me as I am a personal trainer please upload more often
Thank you
OMG, thank you professor. I learnt a lot
What type of bonding takes place between oxygen and haemoglobin...... chemical or physical ?
Brilliant and funny thank you alot ..
professor fink you forgot to mention 2,3-biphosphoglyceric acid and how it allosterically promotes the release of the remaining oxygen molecules bound to hemoglobin
which book page 307
