India should definitely promote more of seaweed cultivation and invest more to tailor it for different coastal conditions. This would also help the fishing community mitigate any loss they incur if they want to selectively catch fish avoiding their individual breeding season.

Japan and Korea have a special culture of eating sea weed in almost every thing And every time from the ancient times because they seriously lacked enough land to grow other vegetables instead of rice.
But in India due to holy blessings of humongous river systems and vast fertile plains we are used to eat land based vegetables, pulses, cereals, fruits even dry fruits, etc.
But we need to include this sea weed vastly in our cuisines all over.

Great documentary and glad to see coastal communities progressing. A little more research is required though - if I'm not mistaken it is not carbon sequestration if the carbon absorbed continues to be part of the carbon cycle. Carbon sequestration by definition means that CO2 or methane or other carbons are absorbed from the atmosphere and never used again in the cycle.
