*Nice **Newest.Technology** cameras, superior to XT2 design, included Mount is much better.Note, these are slightly larger in size than the XT2, and don’t fit into enclosures designed fir the XT2. I tried them ...*
Thank you for showing actual sample videos. It's mind boggling how many 'reviews' out there don't show it.
No problem! 😄 👍
Justin, you NAILED this video...you always do. I'm floored by your ability to break down ALL the elements we need to know in order to make an informed buy. Thanks!
Really helpful, Justin! Thank you for the demo.
It is so good. Great review by the way (saw it twice). I have this webcam. I actually shoot all my vlogs with the logitech brio. Great lowlight performance.
I noticed using Quicktime, the difference between the 922 and the Brio were subtle. Using Ecamm live however, the Brio offers a much better resolution - really happy with the upgrade. I'm using a Mac by the way!
Thank you for the thorough review. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger and purchase the Brio now! :0)
I use the Logitech Brio 4K to record my RUclips videos. I don't use their software, though. I record it in OBS Studio. The quality is much better. Overall, it's a pretty good web cam. Even for recording RUclips videos. One thing that you need to know, though, is that if you don't have a lot of light then the exposure will be fidgity.
Awesome! Yep with webcams having lots of light is critical. In my experience though this is one of the best for low light recording too, just need to make sure you lock the exposure in the software so it doesn't change constantly by itself.
Does recording with obs fix the variable bit issue thus the audio sync issue?
Hi. Can you share where you set the 4k for the brio and your video settings for OBS please in order to record 4k. Thanks
My brio became hot when I start the tramission. Is it normal ? I gat a C920 and it doesnt became hot.
Yeah i suffer this problem too i have extremely low budget i was thinking to upgrade my webcam to something higher quality OBS is the best software to record from i agree. Downside is my room has bad lighting and I dont want to be blinded by lights in my room so generally i have 1 light source so my eyes dont hurt from intense light. I do think Lighting affects camera quality iv noticed in my videos sometimes my camera turns potato then normal as the light redirects in the room
We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.
Sounds great 😊 - Hazel, PV Team
Thank you Justin! I've seen other reviews regarding this camera posted, but I've been waiting on yours before I form an opinion. Looks like I don't have any need to upgrade at this time. I'll save that money for a decent set of lights. 👍👍
Thanks Michael! Yep, it's a good webcam but I'd say there's a lot of people out there that probably won't need to upgrade yet 😀 Especially if you're using a C922 and not needing the extra features.
It's really hard to go back to using webcams when you have a capture card dslr setup. Tradeoff is that we have to lug around lens and a tripods....
It can be hard to change but sometimes it can be for the better (depending what you are filming and what works best for you!) 👍
I think those set ups are the best for Quality the downside is not many people can afford set ups like that you gotta pay so much money for these accessories / gear and equipment this is why i prefer Webcams given its not really ideal but it still does a decent job to record and its affordable and easy to set up you dont need so many plugs/cables/extra equipment like tripod stands and extra lighting which i think affects Camera Quality if you have poor lighting the webcam looks potato
@@chrissy93x This is exactly what I was thinking 5mins ago. DSLR set up ofcourse has better quality over any webcams (so far I know) set up but not a lot of people can afford the cost of the whole set up and time.
trade off is also the $1000 minimum price tag
Thank you. Very Helpful.
Can you record in a constant frame rate and not a variable frame rate? I want a 1080p camera at 60 fps, but I do not want to come across audio sync issues. I don't want to have to put it in handbrake to get a constant frame rate.
Thank you for the video!
Thank you for sharing!
hi Chris! thanks for the great content! Any suggestions regarding a cam that moves? Would be great for presentations in bigger spaces
These are great videos, thanks. I bought a Brio a few weeks ago and have downloaded settings, and I see where to change the brightness, variable degree settings, etc. HOWEVER, I have not see anywhere where you select 4 Km 30/FPS, 1080, 60 FPS or 780 with 90 frames per second. I have watched several reviews for the BRIO and have not see on any of them how to select 4k/1080/780 or FPS. Also, I would like to hear which is really the best?? 4 Km 30/FPS, 1080, 60 FPS or 780 with 90 frames per second. I have heard that FPS is more important than 4k/1080/780...
Super helpful, thank you so much! Great video. :)
You're welcome - happy to help! 😀
Excellent video. Thanks for the information!
Thanks James! 😀
Thanks! This was very helpful.
No problem - happy to help 👍
thx, Justin! great review and great video! you're very articulate
You're welcome 🙏
Hi Justin, thanks for the great video. I'm very curious to know what kind of camera you used for creating this video? The quality is exceptional!
Fantastic review as usaul, Justin. Thanks very much for your expertise in helping me choose a 4K Webcam.
Glad you liked it, John 😊 - Hazel, PVA Team
When comparing against the C922, even though the C922 looked darker, it also seemed to have a lot more detail in the image. The Brio image seemed really lacking in detail to me.
Yeah, the C922 looks sharper, just look at his shirt, his face stubble and the surfer in that poster in the background. I don't know if its a matter of bad calibration though.
@@IbizanHound2 I almost think he got the devices wrong by looking at the quality.. Like.. Why is the higher end doing worse?
@@CraftKid
At 4:35 he claims the BRIO has better color yet looks more washed out and grey while the C922 looks much richer (look at the BLUE not grey shirt). You can also see MUCH finer detail in the C922 and the lighting is much more defined.
It's called: proof is in the pudding, Puddin'
it's because he uses the default brio config which sets the HDR and Wideview ON. I believe 4K cams works best without using HDR and Wideview.
Exacty what my eyes caught. so i am looking for a webcam for twich stream, want to future proof, which one should i look for?
Hi Jason - thanks for this review. Wonder if you have suggestions for taking a direct audio feed from a radio studio and recording/streaming a broadcast (with audio and visuals in sync). Is this possible with this camera?
Great video, Justin! Question, what software are you for this camera on your Mac? Your link doesn't seem to locate the software. Thanks!
Useful video thanks
Awesome, awesome, awesome review! I really enjoy this channel, thanks Justin. Be well, stay encouraged, and keep Encouraging!
Thanks Jacob! 👍😀

Great vid.. I subbed bruv!
Thanks - glad to have you here! 👍
So awesome, thanks so much for this. What camera do you record to get the video of you talking? And are there any lights? It looks fantastic!
No problem Ross, it's actually not a webcam... I use the Panasonic GH5 and my full set up is here: ruclips.net/video/a1TF5qvAVeI/видео.html
Best review. Thank you!
Thanks Taria! 😀
Great idea! Great video Justin as always. I am not sure I need a 4K webcam, I have been pretty happy with my C920 and 1080 is really all I need for what I do. What do you think?
Professor Nez The FPS makes the biggest difference. It's a big upgrade
Yes, I have the brio and is awesome compared to other webcams just for that :)
Thank you. You answered the one question I have. What software do I use with the Brio.
I've filmed all my videos (except my first two) on the C920 and it's served me very well. It is annoying that it will go out of focus, while in MANUAL focus mode, and before I had access to a proper microphone, the on board microphone is horrible. It picks up the sound of the shutter, or it pics up some sort of electrical noise constantly, and whenever the lens goes out of focus in manual mode, you can HEAR the lens refocusing (watch some of my early videos and you can hear it)
The software was pretty average too. Good for quick adjusting of picture, but the preview when recording was too tiny. I'll have to see how the new software goes.
What's the focus range like? Does it do good macro/close up? The way it mounts to a tripod now actually looks a little "meh". I like the ability to finely tweak the pivot of the camera without having to move the whole tripod or other mounting system.
If I can convince Logitech to hook me up with one, I'm thing of doing an illustrator's review of it. the C920 has worked out well for me despite it's pitfalls.
Hey Beanie Draws!
The C922 camera has fixed pretty much all the issues you've had with your c920. That alone is definitely worth the update 😀 The tripod mounting is much better in my opinion.. as you said you may not get the micro movements without older style mount but it's also nowhere near as solid if you're going to be using a tripod, and you would make the adjustments on the tripod anyway👍 I'm not sure exactly what the focus range is for macro shots, I'm sure that's something you could find on their website but for close ups having the wide angle and zoom ability will give you much more creative control for close or wide shots.
Thanks for the information
No problem Antonio!
Hi great video, what is the best and EASIEST camera to use for livestreaming yoga/pilates classes. I need wide angle. Is there any webcameras that would work for that?
Hi Justin, thanks for the video. Entirely a newbie in terms of equipment. Can you tell me what you shot your commentary with?
Really useful, thanks. I am an artist and need to use this for zoom lessons. Consequently I need to be able to do occasional close ups of my work and also need to avoid light flickering. the c920 does not work for me. Can you recommend the Brio????
Great review!
Thanks!
Hey Justin, If you have some time to check can you please check and confirm that in your Windows Camera App are you able to see Ultra HD resolution mode 4096 one in your video settings. Thanks
still undecided; on a mac I wonder if 4k will help for youtube videos
I am about to buy my first ever webcam, yes welcome to 2018, but I see 922 best option for me app and qualitywise.
*Primal video, Which camera do you use now?*
Fantastic video, so informative
So awesome to hear it! 😀
Hey Justin, great video as always. I'm currently using the C922, and wondering if I should upgrade to the Brio or not. Just wondering if you're still using the Brio two years later, or have you found a better webcam? Thanks much!
I use a mix of the Brio and C922. Brio is my go-to though, better colors and better in low light :)
Hi Justin, another great vid. I dont care much for the 4k feature on the Brio and will stick to 1080p do you think it's not worth getting the brio therefore? Thanks!
Just bought this cam. It has a HORRIBLE issue with the image being grainy in 4k and 1080p. Turned off Auto-exposure, fixed that issue, but then drops the FPS down to like, 8. Might be great if you have a full blown lighting set up. (Firmware was updated, tried in OBS, Logitechs own software.)
Great video, What program do you use to add signs letter or cartels letters?
Hello Justin, thanks for your great video's. What video-editing program would you advice for a "beginner"?
Hi Don, no problem! We have videos on editing software as well, here are two that could help:
PC - ruclips.net/video/Pnbi6gOMfDU/видео.html
Mac - ruclips.net/video/298qZZzMKBc/видео.html
Is there any better webcam option you'd recommend? I'm looking for a budget camera for streaming church services (about 10m distance). I only need a decent image quality and integrated zoom, the sound is coming directly from the soundboard. Thanks for the video!
Awesome video bro!!!
Thank you Shawn! 🙏
What camera and microphone systems do you currently use to record your published videos? They look awesome.
We currently use the Panasonic GH5 for our youtube videos 👍
Quick note for those interested in purchasing this camera. Logitech provides software to upgrade the camera firmware for Apple macOS. It was probably added after this video was published.
@ Anil Natha, could you share with me where the software is at based on your post? Thanks!😀
Wich program you recommend for recording in MacOS. By the way I love your channel!!
Hopping my i7-8700k/gtx 1080 Ti system will fair well with the 4k recording feature. I think System Ram and Hard Drive speed makes a big difference as well.
Did you get it in the end ? And how stable was it?
Hi I’ve been watching your videos and as an expert in video wanted to ask you a quick question: I’ve got a canon EOS R with the RF 1.2 50mm and the Rf 24-105 lenses. I’ve been using them mostly for photography but since I started a new RUclips channel stated also using them for video. I’m still not sure which one is best. The 1.2 captures loads of light but forces me to have the camera far away from me which causes issues with positioning my lighting. The other one has only 1.4 aperture which means I need more light. Also the 4K video is cropped which is a big downside from the EOS R. Should I keep insisting with this system for video or maybe use one of these 4K webcams instead?
super useful. Any update for 2019 for Mac? Any suggestion for side microphone? I am planning to use these in a room for a small team conference. Thanks
blue yeti
very descriptive, but how many "other tests" did you do and what were they?
Hello Justin, would this Logitech Brio be any good for a teaching job with it about 15ft back from teacher? Or is there a better one now?
Hi, Justin. What camera do you use to record your RUclips videos, please?
Great review Justin, thanks. What camera are you using for this video? It seems that is much better than the Logitech you talked about.
Hey Alexando, you can check out the gears that we are using here primalvideo.com/gear. Hope that helps 👍
Mate it's like you're reading my mind. My old 920 seems to be giving me soft images when I load my vids to YT and I was wondering if there was an upgrade and lo and behold your video appears. I'm trying to update my screenflow export settings, lighting etc but I still cant seem to get Justin Brown levels of output and quality :) Will check this camera out. Cheers Ed
Hi Justin. Have you guys tested the Cisco Webex Desk Camera?
Thanks Justin, AMAZING content as always! :)
The video is from 2017. Right now (2019) the webcam finally use your nVidia card to do all the 4K encoding without "killing" your CPU. (you'll need GTX 1070 or above for that)
Yo! Am actually looking to buy a good high quality Webcam!! Do you think you can recommend one!! I have a Dell G3 gaming laptop!! And the camera sucks!! So need a Webcam hahah
Would you recommend this or another for creating quality RUclips videos?
Hi. First. I love your stuff! Looking forward to learning from you.
I have a question. I have purchased a BRIO, ran into issues with it. Purchased a second, same issues. I do not see any options with my camera for anything more than 60 FPS. I see options for various resolutions, however no havd 60 FPS. I have tried it with 3 computers. I had the geek squad at Best Buy try on a PC and MAC and same thing. We have tried it with windows 10 camera (have updated windows and the latest USB and camera drivers. Any ideas? The reason I bought the camera, was it does 1080P with 60 FPS. WHICH I suspect is much better than 1080P with 30??? HELP
David, is the Brio native USB 3.0, and is that faster and better quality than other USB 2.0 webcams? I've been trying to use ManyCam as a virtual camera in Skype, but video & audio latency is terrible, so I'm wondering if Brio and its faster throughput is a possible solution. Thanks for any insights you can offer.
Hi Justin. I just wanna ask, what do you mean of using BRIO webcam can be CPU Intensive? I hope you'll answer me.
I want to video my scale model builds, would this be a good cam to use?
Thank you for the review. Anyway, what camera did you use to film this whole clip?
No problem! This one was the Panasonic GH4 but we now use the GH5 for our videos 👍
Such a premium review this really helped alot.
Great - thanks!
Thank you Justin. I just bought one. Would you please update the link to the camera app? Right now it leads to a generic web page and I am not sure which app to select in the download page as none are called camera app (is it the Control app maybe?). Also, there is a firmware update tool in the downloads section but it does not seem to apply to webcams. Would you please tell us how you upgrade the firmware with this camera?
The video from the brio looks kind of washed out compared to the c922
Its because he has HDR checked.
@Sataniel Gaming He said that you get much brighter and much better colours coming through he is referring to the 4k webcam. Also the room he is in doesn't look the most lit. The quality on the right side looks like the contrast is just higher and darker with slightly less quality. I'm sure on a 720p or 1080p screen the darker looks more eye catching but this is not the actual case. Sorry not sorry.
Also he never set the white balance in the video on the webcam on the left. If you don't do that it gets wonky and can look weird, I have both cameras and the 4k is way better.
Hi Justin, thank you for sharing your experience using the Brio. Could you please let me know where you download the "logitech brio control" software? Since I cannot find it anywhere. Many thanks again
It's called Camera Settings, it's under the download page on their website under support
OMG! A reviewer that actually did their review for a 4k camera..... IN 4K! Thank you!
No problem! 😀
Thanks Justin this really helps. Which is the best software you recommend. Does Logitech software need to be purchased? or it comes complimentary
No problem! The Logitech software is free to download for it. As for Live Stream software, we have a bunch of videos on our channel that could help your out!
Nice & Thanks :)
What camera you used at the beginning of the video? Canon?
I wish you'd have given more actual viewable examples. Like what the background replacement actually looks like. What it looked like using bright lights not just low lights. What the microphone sounds like.
Got this for under 12,8 dollars on a norwegian web shop. Going to use my 720p something as my second webcam. Cant wait to get this in the mail.
I have a 3900x and i guess the cpu wount be a problem?
Hey Justin, I do record training videos with my Canon M50. I don't record it on my SD card, but I use it as a webcam to record the final video on OBS. I kinda skip the post-production here. BUT the problem is the crappy M50 resolution that causes low-quality results. I was wondering if you recommend that I use this BRIO instead of M50 to record4K on OBS?
You must be kidding right? Did you try one
What is the camera you are using for this video? I like the quality.
Hi I’ve just bought a 2019 Mac Pro 16 Core with 48GB RAM and the highest Graphics Card, the Mac arrives in 3-4 weeks. I know absolutely bugger all when it comes to webcams but all I know is I want to record in 4K in low light and I’m disabled so I can’t touch the actual webcam once it’s set up. I’ll change settings through the computer though. I won’t know until I get my new Mac Pro but the idea is to cam me playing games, I’d like some sort of fiery hell background but no idea yet as I’ve never owned a webcam. I also play guitar in a rock band so I often record guitar jams at home on my iPhone but I’m also thinking of recording on my iPhone but use the webcam as a different view shot then edit both shots in Final Cut Pro X, I’m completely guessing that is possible? ... Also I’m in a wheelchair so I’m assuming if I had a Green Screen or a Blue Screen behind me then would I keep crashing into it every time I moved? I’m a complete webcam noob but I know what I want etc. Can you help please. Oh I will also be using webcam to video chat with my niece and nephew if that factors into it? This video kinda put me off so is there any better 4K cams for me or is this it?
My logitech brio makes a loud beeping sound for the listener when i use it. Like something is causing an interference. Do you know how i can fix this? Awesome video!
Silly question here, but I can shut off the mic function on the Logitech Brio and use a mic with audio interface, right?
can you (remotely) adjust the camera via a joystick or the like?
I would be using this with a Chromebook so no access to the Logi software. Do you know what the default field of view is? as well as the default frame rate for 720p?
2:45 what background replacement software can we use please you didn't mention.
Which web cam or cam was used to create this video? For that subtle DSLR-type bokeh background?
I like the camera you filmed with❤
Thanks, Ivan - Hazel, PV Team
Hi I’m new to streaming and I wanted to know which do u recommend to start wit the c922 or the brio please let me know I know it’s been 5 years since you made this but would like to know what you think now.
Brio is definitely a better camera than the c922, but also more expensive now
What camera did you use to make this video? Wich Canon?
I just wants to know which one you were using to record this video. 😅 Sorry for asking something out of the box but your webcam quality is insanely good
This video looks amazing. Love the quality. Would love to know what camera you used to record it.
Could I connect the Brio or C922 to a tascam audio recorder, then run it to my mixer/audio interface? I like the logic video quality better then My Canon T6i. Besides my DSLR camera only allows me to record 29 min in 720p before it resets.
Is the sound good enough for using it for conference calls, zoom and voice to text?
Hi Justin,
Iam Sidra Iqbal, I work in Pakistan as a TV journalist. I am reaching out as I am scrambling to upgrade my work from home workstation for my Live TV show.
I came across this review of the Logitech Brio 4K, its almost 2 years old but its tge most comprehensive one I found online. Just needed ur advice if that's my best bet in the price range.
Most of my TV work is connecting as a journalist / correspondent via Skype or Zoom. No editing or recording, live tv or online streaming. I want to keep the daily setup and broadcasting routine as simple as possible (lighting, etc)
