I'm sitting around waiting for my knee to get well. I wanted to let you know how much your videos have helped. I do admire your willingness to share with all of us crazy rock hunters. And your good at it too. Thanks so much.
I love that first piece, roundish with the sand on the back to hold it together. Nice red and blue flash. reminds me of a ring my grandfather made me. Not great opal but precious to me.
Really cool that you're learning all about opal. You have quite a number of pieces with beautiful flash and color. Interesting and informative video too. Thanks for sharing!✌️🤠
Kaye, have you considered a dop stick for the small ones? It might give you a little control over the little ones. Such pretty stones, and you're brave to work on such delicate stones.
Starting with low grade is a great idea! My poppy gave me a whole bunch of opal and I started working with some pretty decent stones. Sad to say I ruined quite a few of them, but learnt pretty quickly what not to do 😂 love the opal videos Kate! Looks like you’re catching opal fever 😉

Greg, I am so glad. I hope you heal quickly.
I just love opal. Personally I think they are the most beautiful gemstone. Love the video. Really loved the one the other day about the boulder opal.

So pretty. How fun to watch you search for gems
:) Thanks!
I love the way you are using the host rock to make unique beautiful stones I think it’s fascinating to see them together X
I agree! I think a lot of gemstone buyers are kinda snobby about matrix, but I am happy to include it.
I’d love if you did a video of working with the opal that you found yourself because you found some nice chunks.
Yep, they are in the works - I just am trying to space out the opal stuff, since it's not really my channel focus.
Great stuff kate. I saw it in your etsy store and as soon as i get paid, im getting me some!! awesome! Thanks for sharing!
You will LOVE it!

I actually dug out my dop station - the sticks definitely help. :)
just ordered a bag, looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for the video.
Thank you, Steve! I hope you enjoy. :D

Oh, I gotta admit, that is exactly what's happening!
Nice, thank you
Thank you too!
Low grade opal has worked out great for me although most are average gems, I do have a few that are great. Great video!!👍😁
They are still ... PRETTY! :D
Hi Kate
Hey, Grace!
Is there any opalescent flash in other rocks? I have a crystal with miniscule flash?
what inspired you to try working with the opals?
Jeanette, I got to look for opals in Idaho, and then I got hooked! :D
What equipment do you use to clean these up? Anything to recommend for a new comer?
I am using a CabKing 6". I am a newcomer to opals too, so I don't have a lot of recommendations - just dive in and enjoy!
It would break my heart and wallet to work on a $400 rock.
It definitely would be stressful! Better to practice with cheap ones. :D
This is hiw I became a friend of nate.. looking for opal
Cool!
They are so pretty with flaws and all.
I agree!
Also not as much color play
