I love Marillion since Fish era. They started very early breaking barriers using the internet to communicate directly with their audience. For me they used to be the best band in the world, but now they are simply the greatest chaps in the world who make the best music there is.
This 6 episodes of "Meet the Band" tells me once again, why I love them sooooo much and why being a fan for the last 36 years. Marillion is really something special in the world of music business. They are my favorite band for now and forever.
A few months ago a friend's 20 yr old daughter asked if I knew any decent 80s bands. I went to the car and got Misplaced Childhood and told her "From Pseudo Silk Kimono onwards it is the best life story committed to music in the history of music and in the top 3 of the best albums ever written". Yesterday she messaged me saying "You're wrong. It's in the top one of best albums ever written". She's now listening to The Waterboys and The Alarm.
No idea why I got so emotional watching a video about a band I’ve never seen but care so much about!!! It must be all those kind words they say about each other (they feel like a real family) and just maybe the thought; I’ll never get to see them in my lifetime but in the few years I’ve known them what a lifetime they’ve given me!😀 (they don’t come to Nashville much)
Most of the comments by the band mirror what I expected. I think it is wonderful that they are like a family, and I feel that energy when I listen, which is one of the reasons that when my life is a mess, Marillion is my go-to for a pick-me-up. It’s no surprise that the relationship they have with their fans and their fans have with each other is so strong. They come across as genuine human beings, whether it’s on videos like this or meeting them in person at a gig. That unassuming quality is worth it’s weight in gold.
A dear friend turned me onto Marillion back in 198somthing while we were taking a hike through the foot hills in Maryland.. It Was A "TRIP" I'll never forget ! Thank you my dear , have loved this band since....
Very thoughtful and insightful video of the fab 5. My own brief opinion on each member.... Steve R...total legend, as good as any of rock's great guitarists. Mark...brilliant, creative, thoughtful keyboardist. Pete...total workaholic. Brilliant musician. Up there with Chris Squire and Geddy Lee. H...Great and unique vocalist. But criminally underrated lyricist. Over 3 decades of brilliantly thoughtful, accessible lyrics. Ian...Still think he should be President...!!

There's so much in my mind and heart about these guys and I don't think I can bring it all out in writing, in a meaningful way. So I'll just say this: I love them all as if I know each personally for long long years, I love what they do, I love their bond between and I admire the respect they have for their fans. They are my number one and I wish them long healthy years, enjoying each other's company. Even if they stop writing new music today, I'd be grateful for all the joy they already brought into my life with their art since 1985, when I was just 17. ❤

Listening about what they think of each other, we can see that they are like a family, good friends. And for this reason they do the excellent music that they play. They're like Rush, with an understanding between each other that is difficult to find. Long live!
You guys are the perfect blend of talent, passion, humility, integrity, chemistry, sense and sensibility which materializes itself into such an inspiring music. I can only name few bands which epitomize all this greatness... RUSH is one of them (I think you encountered them while touring around 1986 ☺️). Marillion provide an excellent example how we can all learn to get along and create wonderful things together, in spite of our differences. The world needs to follow their example more often.
I actually feel very blessed and extremely fortunate to have discovered Marillion many years ago. They are not only my favorite band but really, the only music I listen too. They can soothe you on so many different levels and bring your emotions to soaring highs and sometimes bring a tear to your eye. If you are a fan of beautiful, creative, emotional music and have not discovered Marillion....you really missed out on something special.
Hogarth has the only voice that has made me cry. If u like a bands music don't dwell on before and after. Live in the moment. A song is only as good as it is in your own head.
A very honest and candid interview. I like the fact they are frank enough to not hide their emotions. Amazing they've stayed together this long. I first saw them in '89 and Steve H just joined, nearly 32 yrs later I'm hoping to see them again incredibly at the same venue (Covid willing). We'll done gents and thank you for the uploads.
I’m a relatively new fan and I love this band. Can’t wait to see them live. I have a few friends who’ve followed this band for years and I’m now just like them. I hope to either go to the CTTE or preferably to one of the weekends in PZ or Montreal.
