My heart continues to ache for Eric--but I think people forget that Conor's mother suffers as well. The focus is always on Eric's pain because of how public his mourning was with the wonderful song he wrote. Let's not forget that Conor had a mother, Lory Del Santo, who suffered as well.
To carry a child to term only to lose him, is a heavy, heavy burden to carry.

He still feels the loss but you get stronger over time. Pain doesn't go away but you learn to live with it.
I have seen tears roll down Eric’s face while singing this tears from heaven song.
I've just lost someone I was close to in the last 48 hours if i listened to that song now i wud be in pieces atm I'm trying to hold my emotions in control its hard the shock and disbelief atm numb feeln.Losing a loved one is the worst life is precious I cuddnt even imagine how Eric must of felt losing his beloved son at such a young age 😢

Clapton has said that he didn't think he was a good father. He said in an interview that his son only wanted him to be Daddy but he was to busy being Eric Clapton and that, it was his greatest regret that he failed Connor as a Father
That’s heartbreaking in itself but losing Connor and in such a horrific manner makes it SO unbelievably worse! Cuz he can’t even make it up to him :( heartbreaking
That’s true! Eric Clapton wanted his girlfriend then to have an abortion , he clearly didn’t want anything to do with the mother or child! He was indeed a horrible father to Connor! Before his son passed away, his ex girlfriend had a brief affair with George Harrison! Sorry but I just don’t care for Eric Clapton after what happened to his poor son 😢

I lost my youngest son Shawn on April 15,2017. He's 28 forever. Losing is a child is the most painful you can ever experience in life. It is beyond horrific.

I remember when this happened. I was 22 and it affected me so much just thinking of the entire situation. 53 stories and a little fella falling just is unimaginable tragedy. I think about that little boy every time i hear the song. My husband and I had lost newborn twins, Matthew and Zachary, in 1988 and it is something I would never wish on anyone. God bless the parents that have buried a part of their heart. There is no pain equal to it.

I remember this. It hits close to me. My son died the same year. He was 9 years old, and I will never forget hearing "Tears in Heaven" the first time. I lost it. You really never get over losing a child. This video is very heartfelt. Thank you for doing it. 😢
Conor was born two months after my twins. When he died, I was on my route as letter carrier for the US Post Office. I heard the announcement on the radio in my jeep, and looked at the tallest building near me just trying to imagine what he went through. The tallest building near me was 26 stories, and I still can’t imagine what that poor baby went through.

I lost my first born child my son only lived for 50 minutes he passed 32 years ago on May 19th and I’m telling you it still feels like it was just yesterday and for me it has never gotten easier and I still grieve for him.

Man, he was less than a year younger than me. He won the lottery being born to a wealthy rockstar and probably would have had a great life had this freakish accident not happened.

I just lost my grandson a few days ago. He had MD. He suffered for years. He was my sons only child. I was thinking of that song for his memorial.
This made me sob uncontrollably, the thought of losing your child is my greatest fear. I'm counting the hours before I pick him up from daycare today. Hold your children close every chance you get.
No windows above the 3rd floor should be able to be opened. Conor's death hit me really hard and still hurts and I didn't even know him or the family besides Eric's music Rest In Peace little Angel. 👼

This has to be one of the saddest songs for myself . Not only because of why Eric Clapton wrote it , but it applies to so many losses , for so many of us , including myself .
Here in Calgary, deaths such as this happened . The city brought in tough building codes because of it . And older apartments, high rises , office buildings had to comply , or they were heavily fined . Now, even seniors residences, for the most part don’t even have balconies .

I remember hearing that song was in dedication to his son, and then when I found out how this poor child died, it hurt so bad. No child should be taken, especially in that way. I remember hearing about this tragic occurrence on the news. Even as a young girl, I felt so sad and even teared up hearing the song. My wife and I lost a baby while in development. There is nothing more heart wrenching than to lose a child of any age. Nothing prepares you for such a difficult loss. It takes time to no longer feel fragmented and to simply feel normal once again.
Even as a clinician, I was ill prepared for the heartache and pain that I would encounter.

That fact was one of the most sad I knew in my life. I remember that, I was 17... And I get sad not for Eric Clapton, the great artist, but for the human being, the man, the father who lost his son. No father and no mother should cry the lost of a son or daughter. I think about Eric's pain that will last all his life.

It’s bizarre that this video came up. I’ve had Eric Clapton and the loss of his son on my mind lately. Eric Clapton did the soundtrack for a movie from 1991 called ‘Rush’ and his song ‘Tears In Heaven’ is in the film. Good movie if you haven’t seen it starring Jason Patric from ‘The Lost Boys’ and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Its so hard to see my daughter when shes sick because i cant do much to make her feel better. This is such a tragic thing to have happened. Remember when this happened it hit the music industry hard because Eric was so well liked ,the world felt so badly for his then girlfriend and for Eric who was devastated. Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful child I cannot imagine the pain , your videos are so well done and you truly show such empathy and sympathy in such a great loss, that of a child , thank you again for such a loving tribute.
