I see the animal crossing for actually less than the regular switch. It's only a couple bucks difference but a difference nonetheless.

Considering my PS5 is literally one of the coolest to the touch systems I own out of around 15 systems... I don't get the joke. Even the back left where most of the heat comes out is still far cooler than the PS4, 360, OG xbox, Wii, etc. Ya got a faulty system dudebro

i wish they'd stop being cowards and make multiple colored switches and more joycon colors already. Sure you can get custom shells, that's what I did, but not everyone wants to do that.

I changed 1 joy con shell leaving my other 1 alone I'm not opening another fucking joycon in my life again I refuse to unless it's a battery swap its too fiddly and took ages don't think I'd be faster 2nd time either

Too much Variation like the DS isn't needed. I have an OG, 3 lites, 1 DSi, a 2DS, a 3DS, the SSB4 LE 3DS xl and I'm gonna buy the 'new' also. I have the Switch and the Switch lite. I like my money, won't give Nintendo even more. There should just be more Joy-Con-modells. Like a 3DS version, a GameCube one, an N64 one,... But good thinks not like the CG ones we have. And matching right Joy-Cons to the left D-Pad versions are also needed.
A joycon upgrade would be cool as well

This is my first Nintendo switch I picked up Friday it’s amazing and love the color

Quick concept if they want to go all out on it, make it look like a hylian shield.
I tend to not like limited edition systems, and this is certainly no exception. The red seems harsher to look at than the neon red for some reason.
Literally any shade of red other than the one they decided to use would have been better.
A blue dock would have been nice

Yeah I can't tell why, but those colors look damn awfull. If they took the red and blue from the standard Joycons, those were a perfect fit. But those here look like they were from a Baby Toy from the 1$ Crap Pile.

I got this switch and the bright red color of the switch and the dock is nice, I love it and have no regrets getting it.

The first youtuber to actually call the yellow to represent Mario's buttons, I don't know if they've never played a Mario game before but most of them say they think it's to represent coins for some reason

This is the harshest/ugliest "special edition" I have ever seen. It desperately needs an accent color to break up the mind-numbing red color. Maybe it doesn't look so bad with blue joycons on it but damn is this system ugly.
The only good red system was the "fire red" gba sp system that was a metallic red color.

I agree, while I'm a nintendo fan, i have to say that this looks like one of those cheap red skins you can find online. Looking at the front, the big black bezel just makes everything look even weirder. Also, their choice of red is not the best. The only redeeming qualities for me are the red dock and the blue joycon grip. This is not a hate comment btw, just nitpicking. I'm still getting this console
Note to Nintendo: More colors please! If you are not releasing a pro version any time in the next 6 months, that is :)

I just got a new switch last week and this one came out , but didn’t want to download everything thing again so I try to ignored , so I went back to bestbuy and this red switch is awesome ! Hopefully they do make a Zelda switch 👍🏼

Honestly it’s the first Nintendo switch so that’s made with a completely different color mold. And it comes with a case with a really cool design with no extra charge. They made a system that’s actually the exact Nintendo red color they’ve been using for their logo for quite some time and it matches perfectly. The accessories have yellow accents for the buttons. They put some really good effort into this one. It’s just an understated design.

Nintendo knows they don’t have to think to hard on customizing consoles because people will buy them regardless. The dock should’ve been blue with the white font and logo.
They probably think fairly hard. It’s not harder to say it should be blur with white front and logo. This is the first Switch sold that’s a new solid color mold, and comes with that case with a really nice design. And the yellow accents to boot. The color of the system is perfect classic Nintendo red and they managed to match it 100%. Not to mention the system has no Mario on it so it appeals to even people who don’t care for Mario.
I am getting a switch soon, should I get this one first (because on amazon the switch and mario switch are same price but the mario one comes with a case.)
It's no wonder some people dont mind paying real money for a costume in a video game, because we have been paying real money for real item costumes forever. It is amazing how many items can charge so much for a new layer of paint. Also, they should have added a Dpad

It looks a bit Fisher Price. Little to no effort applied to this special edition.
Actually I think a lot of effort was put in. The entire system is one color now. That’s a whole new color of mold rather than just a different paint job like other ones have been. And this comes with a $25 case with a really nice design on it at no cost.
I agree with the Fisher Price though haha. Gotta get that young demographic!

I was expecting a lighter joycon color for the animal crossing switch
To each their own but man, this does not look good to me at all. Way too much 'red' and the dock is just an eye sore. I use quotes on red because that is 100% a shade of orange. I have checked the color code on multiple screens and they all look orange to me lol.

Thats such a missed opportunity for Nintendo to get more 3D world games out there. The console could've just costed $30 more and it comes with 3D World and Bowsees fury. Like that's an easy way to get more of these games to the public smh Nintendo

Does the switch recognize the console as red? (not the joycons) Similar to the way the switch detects the pro controller grips

You know, when a special Nintendo release like this is SO easy to get compared to a PS5 or Xbox, you really have to question Sony and Microsoft’s logistics... It can’t possibly mean that Nintendo products are (GASP) not in demand anymore, right?
I happened to be in a Target early Friday morning (9AM) and saw 3 in the case - I passed, and kind of regretted it later - so on Saturday. while they had sold out at that Target, I was able to order for curbside pickup at Best Buy in the afternoon, which I picked up today. Like I said, for.a Nintendo product?! WAAY too easy.
Here's a compromise on pronouncing Mario that I'd like to offer to Bob:

I got the all-black version as my first switch last month. The others looked a little too much like fisher price toys. Guess I have a case of early onset boomer hitting me.
You know, when I first got my switch, back on day one in 2017, I thought I was being all grown up and getting the switch with the dark gray joycon. After a few months, I ended up getting the neon blue and red ones, and they became my favorite! Now I just use the Hori Split Pad

Hey Bob, I know I'm probably far too late for you to actually see this but, were you involved in writing the script for the recent episode of The Escapist Show (The Mass Effect...Butt Controversy?). I'm pretty sure we have seen you working on sections of the last five minutes of that video. ;)
I had a day 1 switch i bought off some kid one month from release that was only gonna get $70 for it because the left joycon was broken so i offered him $100 and he agreed. I kept holding off for some potential Switch Pro even when they did the update for better battery life i was like “Why spend the money to upgrade? Then recently I saw this one and I had to have it. Sold the old switch for $150 and got $120 off at Best Buy and it was totally worth it. Red is my favorite color so I love it so much. Still wish the Joycons were Blue or the top and bottom of the console to actually make it a Red AND Blue edition but I digress, I love it. Also I had the misfortune of not knowing that ACNH doesn’t backup data like normal games and lost my island i spent about 400 hours on sooooooooo i guess I have more ACNH to play huh?
Honestly, not a big fan of this one. The colors don’t really work on a premium electronic, and give the whole thing a kiddy Mega Blocks vibe. That’s especially true with the blue joycon grip. The OG red and blue joycon switch was the perfect balance between whimsical and premium, and I LOVE the red and blue they created with that one. This is just too much of a toy look for my tastes.
