Well i have had a few boards for the kids but in my opinion the Burton chopper/chicklet with convex base is the best for learning. Bataleon mini shred with tbt is my second best, for me the boards that is catch free has given the kids the most fun and confidence learning. What kids are going to foot stear a board when they a learning, i used many days to just get them to master a toe turn. Just my humble opinion.
This review based on graphics. . . understandable given the channel's reviewer pool. . . but there's so little info on kid's stuff. Mine both learned on old hand-me-down stiff camber Burtons in 90, 100, 110. Is it terrible to throw them on camber and say, "you're young. . . edges. . . deal with it." That's what happened to me when I started out :P They seem to be progressing ok with my totally inadequate teaching attempts. We're too poor to afford lessons at the current rates. Oldest one just sized out of the hand-me-downs and went on a Bataleon minishred this season. She is asking for camber again because she claims to be slipping on icy stuff. Signal seems to have some good options that were not mentioned here.

Also my son has the nitro volcom board and he loves it.

Picked up a 2nd quality Burton Stylus for my daughter last summer for $100…. She progressed so quick on it and loves the graphics to boot

Had to look this up. Now I need one, for purposes. Not for kids, I don't have any.
Got my daughter on the Capita Jess Kimura Mini last year, great board.
Started my kids on the Bataleon 110, them they went to the LowRide 120.
Now they both ski :(
