    I added the mega mercy to my quiver last season. I am a huge fan of this board. Can take it in any condition and it rips. I love it all over the mountain. The edge hold and snap are perfect for my ridding style, while also allowing it to be playful. I have worked my quiver up to a respectable fleet. It is one of the boards are look forward to ripping around on.

    One of the boards I am thinking of is this mercury/mega merc or maybe the TRS. I saw your older videos on the TRS and might have been a bit since you been on one and saw the TRS is now c3 but wondering if you have any thoughts on that?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 месяцев назад +1

      I rode the TRS C3 and the new C3 one with the built in risers. Haven't done a reivew yet. Sorry! Yeah not a bad board. Much more stable/fun to turn but really poor float.

    I'm looking for a recommendation on a board. I've been riding for 36+ years and consider myself to be expert, though I've taken the last ~8 years off (kind of out of touch with the current snowboard lines). I'm still riding my old 2003 Burton Custom but it's def time for a new board. I'm too old for the park so all mountain/free ride is all I do now and I love finding those untouched bowls with the pow. I almost pulled the trigger on the new Burton custom but heard some people talking about this brand. Would you recommend one of these over the Burton?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 месяцев назад

      That old Custom 2003 was great for the time. The New Custom isn't as well rounded as it used to be but still a fun board. Capita makes great boards but based on what you wrote I wouldn't suggest any of these boards. I would suggest something with better float that's more fun off piste/in bowls. I'd need to know a lot more info to properly help. Hit me up here if you want to get into it more. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

    Hi guys! bought a 2023 Mercury a few days ago since it was on offer and last size available. I came from a Ride Manic '19 and got the Mercury specifically because I wanted to take my carving to the next level, using it in the park and generally improving my riding level (4/5 seasons behind). I just saw the review but didn't expect it to be so slow edge-to-edge...do you recommend I return it for 30 bucks or will I still feel a big difference from my current board? thanks

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Год назад +1

      Check the in depth review we rate it a 3 out of 5 for turn initiation. That isn't a bad thing because it allows the board to track well into jumps. Check the in depth review on the site because we talk about how it turns when you get it on edge. I also don't know enough about you to know if this is right for you. I don't even know your specs and if you sized this correctly. Hit me up here if you want to do this correctly. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

      @kylesoliman2412 11 месяцев назад +2

      Hey man, I have the 21' Mercury. The turn initiation is on the slower part. Going slow is not this boards cup of tea. It wants to go fast all the time, it can go to park and you can throw everything at it and it will do the job regardless. Once I got used to it I loved every bits of this board. I would ride it and keep it, one persons review doesn't justify how a board is. In the end of the day it is an opinion. So take everybody's experience with a grain of salt. I'd say keep it, it's a well known board for a reason and holds a reputation in the industry.

    Hello
    I need help! :) I would need a recommendation about new board :)
    I do not know which one is more suitable for me: Capita Mercury / Mega Merc / BSOD / Super DOA.
    I'm intermediate/advanced rider; 171 cm, 72kg. Most of the time I ride on pistes. I like fast sharp turns and also carves but I also like to ride slower and play around a little and take small jumps. Sometimes I go off piste. Rarely I go freeriding in powder. I do not go into parks at all.
    I had a chance to ride the 22/23 Super DOA 152 for 5 days. I'm a little over-weighted for it (72kg), but it felt great. I really like that board a lot. I appreciate the fast base, responsiveness, and stability. The only thing is, I do not ride switch at all, nor do I use rails or attempt big jumps. Is there anything similar in a directional, setback version (with all the benefits of the Super DOA)? I assume it could offer some advantages over a twin if I don't ride switch. Or not?
    Should I just go ahead and buy SDOA?

    Really insightful information! I am looking to buy the 2024 Mercury (was going to get DOA but I wanted something more stable at speed and choppy conditions). I am a similar size as yourself, 5'10, 180lbs, and size 10.5 boots. Would you suggest going the 155 or 157? I wanted a 156 but it is a wide and I don't think my 10.5 boot size quite justifies the wide board, although I will say the wide models look much better overall.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  9 месяцев назад

      Many thanks. 157 would be the better call of the two sizes. Maybe even the 159 for your 10.5 boots and will handle your weight a little better. These don't ride as well for higher weights in the suggested weight range and neither model does that well in choppy uneven snow. They both buck and bounce around a lot.

    How does the mega merc compare to the yes basic decade. You have to be the very few that have ridden both boards. I am currently riding a 155 yes basic decade and I am eyeing on 23 155 mega merc.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  4 месяца назад +1

      The Mercury is a little more poppy, lighter and has a faster base but initiates turns a lot slower and does not have anywhere near the directional float of the Decade with those set back inserts. I personally would prefer the Basic Decade just because of those set back inserts. They make it a much more versatile board. • @thegoodridesnow

      Yes. Way too narrow for 11-11.5's. It's not really a 25.7 waist it's more like a 25.4 after you factor out the death grip on each side. • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  11 месяцев назад +1

      It used to be but was changed to a set back directional twin. Much more All Mountain now. So it is very comparable to the Mercury, Mega Merc. We actually liked how it turned the best out of all of these. As Mr. Lahey might say its got a little more of the white liquor in it than you would think for all mtn riding.
