No one in my area wants these kinds of cakes.
All my orders are simple, or fun, whimsical! Playful.
Don't get me wrong, I love doing them. A Basket of Sunflowers, butterfly's fluttering around, a cute little white Fluffy Puppy in the center! A Cowboy, sitting on an old wooden crate, fishing, under an edible Tree, with his horses, grazing, with Hay Bails in the back ground, everything that cowboy loved (not so sure of the Jell-O I used for the water lol).

They were all fun to do. Came out great! I loved them all....
But the sophisticated cakes I don't get to do very many.
I am hoping that when I get moved and set back up to make cakes again, I can maybe get to make some for fun and donate them, maybe I will get more orders like that.
We get all of those orders too. We are in a small town. Next to a bigger area. That is part of the reason I do these tutorials, just so I can do them!
@@sophisticakesbymary I am like 45 mins from Ft Worth. I wish I could get customers from there as well. Right now my Tiny Town of Mayberry, I normally get cake orders from family and friends, or their friends. I have a few that need wedding cakes next yr! I can't wait to do those lol

I'll try to do this same design..black and white for a Friend of mine who ask me a birthday cake.
I have a question, when you finish this cake did you put it back in the fridge? if yes does the glowy effect of the black cake stays?. Spraying hot water on it does it not weakens the sugar paste?
Beautiful! My daughter wants a ganache wedding cake covered in gold…..can I paint using the same technique on white chocolate ganache that has royal icing stencilling…..or should I spray completed cake….. like you did with the leaves? Thanks
