- In this Cake Decorating tutorial, I will show you how to make this Abstract Modern Asymmetric Chocolate Wrap Cake with Edible Gossamer and Gold decorations. The Gossamer is a take on the Edible Crinoline, just made a little differently. Less lacey and more shiny! I hope you enjoy!

Wow, Beautiful. For the lace, have you tried using cornstarch? It also comes out shiny and I have used it to make homemade luster dust before. Maybe with a tad of sugar added as well

Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m kinda pleased to hear even sugar experts of your calibre struggle with tempering like the rest of us mere mortals. Feeling slightly less guilty about all the couverture chocolate I’ve massacred (truly, you should’ve seen my kitchen after trying the hair dryer method😂), and definitely trying out butter ganache - never heard of it before. And the cake - so, so beautiful - like a ballet in chocolate.

Please, is the dark chocolate that you used at the beginning of the video to make the decorative shapes? Is it chocolate ganache or dark chocolate melted in the normal way?
Stunning! Mabe some shortning or something on the foil you used for texture? For easier removal.

Can you please share a link to your butter ganache recipe and also how you melt the compound chocolate to use for the wrap. I am never lucky when using compound chocolate. It always separates and doesn’t set.
There should be a link in the video description for the recipe;) I ise the frost form recipe. I think the best way to melt the chocolate is to do it slowly. I do 30 second intervals in the microwave and mix after each one. I hope this helps!

So happy to hear that!! I used dark chocolate this time. But you can use milk, White or semi sweet too. The link in the video description will give you the ratios for all of them.

My birthday is 3 days before Christmas. There's no pretending Christmas is not a part of my birthday. I had my cousin order me a Pink, winter wonderland Christmas birthday cake. So who knows what that will look like. What would be your take on it? You asked for ideas....I'm just so curious how amazing you would make that!

Oh sure;) I would just keep it chilled up until the last minute.
