I like that they crossover to tbbt and the others at times. Like the episode where they show young Leonard young Penny etc. Hope they do it more often, especaially showing what the others were up to when young
When I was getting my master in mechanical engineering I had a professor kind of like that it didn’t matter if you would have got an A on the assignment if you turned it in early it was incomplete. His philosophy behind this was if you can’t follow my exact instructions then you have no right to pass turn it in when it’s due not before and not after kind of weird but I respected him for this. Nothing wrong with hustling and getting stuff done early but it’s a simple rule of due as your told! Execute to the exact precise specifications.
"The nail which sticks out is the one that gets hammered first ". I guess that's what Sheldon's prof wanted him to know I guess

Physicist are like this too. They love to give me homework with no study material and then tell you the answer the day it is due. They could just give you homework following a taught subject but they love to waste peoples time.

I was always expecting the professor to pick up a piece of chalk and say “armour piercing”.
I had a damn lecturer once who was a little like that. Wouldn't give any answers or help at all. I don't have time to attempt dozens of questions and make hours of appointments with you to go over them. Just upload a damn answer and method sheet. I'm not an idiot, i Wouldn't just skip to the answer and think, 'yeah i can do that'. OBVIOUSLY id analyse the steps and method to understand the proper way of working out that type of question and answer. The student must walk through the door themselves to truly prosper yes, BUT THE TEACHER MUST HELP SHOW AND OPEN THE DOOR OTHERWISE THEY ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO BE A TEACHER! 😤
I know school teachers who arent any better. saw a math teacher ones tormenting a poor girl in my class at the beginning of a new school year. she stood befor the whiteboard and was supposed to solve a complex problem which clearly she had no idea how to deal with in any way and she told the teacher so and all she got was an annoyed "You know how to solve it, just do it" she answered that she couldnt , that continued for a few minutes until she was almost about to cry cause she felt humiliated in front of the class.
luckily class ended then. to this day i am pretty sure he was just stalling for time cause he was not in the mood to actually teach. That was the only time in school were i had the urge to smack a teacher in the head.

Given that it's Sheldon, I'd imagine he made that bridge design using some rare and/or exotic material not normally used in bridge construction to make it more "aesthetically pleasing" ergo sci-fi looking.

He is a terrible teacher. As a mathematican it's easy to get lost in theoretical correctness. But the entire reason for mechanics is learning how to apply real world factors to the math.

I realize this was all written that way Because Plot/Because Drama/etc, but if I were that professor, I would have asked Sheldon if that was really the paper he wanted to turn in. And if he said yes, I'd accept it, and give him an F.
Very little actual learning is had from an instructor of the caliber presented.....

I need to pass the tests so they keep their average class grades up, I need to pass so I dont waste my tuition investments. We both have way too much shit to get done to play guessing games for a week

The BBT Sheldon as a “adult” always escaped the butt kickings that he richly deserved, however, I’m do happy that I never had a insufferable, self centered “young Sheldon” as a classmate. This is a biography tv series of a fictional character who hated engineering. Engineering may not be this way IRL and how you perceive it
