To be honest I feel like all guys go through this frequently. They just kinda reach a point where they aren't sure if they're really themselves anymore or just some facade they play for the world to believe they're still strong
Remember the shows trying to get us to buy into the fact that George is trying to resist having an affair with Brenda and no one but me has seemed to notice the fact he got his buddy to go out and have beers with them at the bowling alley Where Brenda works. In what universe is that the way to avoid the person you're attracted to?
Landlines that did not have lights and amplifiers did work when the power was out. The phone company maintained a bank of batteries that provided low voltage power to transmit phone calls. Not like voip phones of today. Excellent safety feature not available today to most homes because even landlines have features requiring AC power.
When I was still a kid, this always confused me during black outs - why the phone was still working. I guess its because it rings, has cables attached, and not a mechanical device made me think it required electricity to work same as other appliances. (Now I know it still requires snall electricity but coming directly from the phone line)
@Christopher Bingham The writers are running out of ideas. And just to keep continuity with TBBT. If they were clever, they would have come out with something that was beyond our imagination.
@Christopher Bingham The hook was the cuteness of Young Sheldon, they got the casting right for everyone but Sheldon isn't that cute anymore, the family comedy is slowly disappearing with the cuteness of Sheldon and even young Missy too. Teenagers and knowing George and Mary is heading downhill makes the comedy part difficult to write and watch. Georgie and Mee Maw might have more mileage though. If they know how to salvage this. Then again, shows these days are mostly going "bad", rare to see wholesome shows like the first 3 seasons of the show at the same time having some values of the nostalgia of the 90s and late 80s.
You should still be able to use a traditional plug-in landline phone during a power cut as long as nothing has happened to bring the phone network down, too. This is because your telephone line takes its power from the local telephone exchange, which has back-up power available. 🙂
The man has a whole family and still alone. Makes you womder why people marry!! Harems not just for multiple wives but people to talk or complain about others.
“I have some candles and I’m going to get some takeout. I’m good.” Now my new favorite quote
I haven’t really watched this but…is that mee maw?
@@Khaleel85 yeah...
I feel sorry for George. The poor man is having an existential crisis and he has no support.

I think Mimo's last slap was personal😂😂😂
Meemaw?!
telephone works without electricty. Those were the days ....
The power went out at my job a few months ago, the landline was the only thing that still worked that wasn't an exit sign
How does that work?
The playing of Crystal Gayle's "Don't it make my brown eyes blue" was a great subtle addition to this scene.
Got to love the writing on this show.
Actually seems like they are running out of ideas.
George reminding me of old days when people needed others company
Damn corona
But his mother-in-law? no man should want to hang out with their mother-in-law...
People still need company of others today, no?
Sheldon ain't no fun, he allways wanna tell on somebody SMH

He said aren't you usually at the other place, implying that he was trying to avoid running into her
A laundromat? Shouldn't it be THE laundromat? She was there, that was how they met...
Georgie said, "The."
Practically can watch the whole episode on RUclips....
1:37 can say the same thing about my mother
Ah yes, no power but a working phone
They didn’t need power to work. A cordless one yes but the older ones no.

Landlines work without power.
1:07 haha Principal Petersen is eating fried chicken from KFC
What year was this? It may have still been Kentucky Fried Chicken. It changed in '91.
Yeah. This was couple years prior, he should've given it to Meemaw to save her ordering some takeout.
Guys I think Season 4 was 2020 then season 5 was 2021
@@youmustcreateachanne KFC is the nutritional equivalent to smoking crack.
Connie asked a stupid question first. She can look across the street & see their lights on.
How does the land line that takes power from a wall outlet still work if the power is out?????
A lot of land lines don't necessarily a lot of power. They just need a connection.
@@rushalias8511 Thats good to know XD
The phone company provides the power thru the phone line. They have banks of batteries.
if her power is out how is she using the phone?
Ha Ha.😄 Landline. No electricity needed.
Christ, I hope you're joking😆
You're clearly not old like the rest of us, lol!
Some people still have landlines, unless their provider was able to leave them behind.

Objection, your honor. Asked & answered.
Haha so funny
Billy is the best!
She can call but the powers off
Ok big question how does your landline work when your power is out? Thats not possible because your landline is part of the house's electricity.
Its connected to the phone lines, only need electricity to charge portable phones.
Like wired headphones vs airpods.
Landline phones can run without electricity, but only the phone aspect will work. Not the caller ID, the phone won’t light up, or anything like that.
The phone company has banks of batteries to provide dail tone. No electricity needed.
How her phone working without power?
Now you got me trying to remember how landlines work
No power the phone ☎️ works 🤔
Landlines work when the power goes out.
How Did the phone work if the power was out
Landlines work when the power is out.
If Meemaw's power was out....... how did she used the phone to call George?
Old school phone ran off telephone line, entirely separate from electric.
@@kristn6513 how many people that don't know this fact shocks me. Even today landlines run off the phone lines.
The phone company has banks of batteries, that power landlines.
Her power is out but she can still use the phone?
Old time phones were analogue and also operated on their own power system. I think it was down to 12v by the time it got down to the handset
Phone company had banks of batteries that provided the dial tone.
Wait if the powers out how can she use the Phone
Because landlines work when the power is out.

on old rotary phones you didn't need power

Oof the older the actor for young Sheldon get the less charm he exudes. Its getting weird.
I really reaaaaally dont like this episode
Because? I didn't like how they are playing with Mary possibly having an affair....and also the way they are writing George.
