An alternative to cling film are those green biodegrable bags that we use for foodwaste. They work just like clingfilm but of course are environmentally friendly.

Very cool bowl... music was loud (and unpleasant) and it's not just your channel. Unfortunately a lot of RUclips artists feel they need to add music and it's always too loud.
To “my dear mother, “there’s no accounting of tastes.” I actually found the music to be more pleasant than much of what I hear on RUclips! I can certainly agree that I love the bowl, enough that I may try doing my own version. Thank you.

Unfortunately, when folks are new at making RUclips videos, they are often not good at balancing the music volume and the speech volume. At least in this video she wasn't playing the music the whole time and making it hard to understand what she was saying.
I enjoyed watching the video, but when you would switch back and forth between you talking and the music , the music was so much louder that I would have to continually adjust the volume up and down which kind of drove me crazy after a while. Other than that I really did enjoy your video and subscribed.

Decorating slips generally stay very close to the colour they go on but it's worth checking. I have a brown slip that paints on a reddish colour. They will also alter slightly if you put a transparent glaze on top. They tend to darken slightly. Hope that helps ☺️
Hi. Yes 😊 It was bisque fired to 1000C as it's stoneware clay. I then glazed the inside with transparent gloss glaze to show the slip colours. The outside I glazed in a matt turquoise then it was fired again to 1200C to finish it.
Absolutely, reusing is always good ☺️ I've since started using the compostable bags used for food waste instead of the plastic wrap and it seems to work just as well and makes me feel a bit better 😁
No, it's coloured decorating slips which are basically clay watered down with a coloured stain in it. They don't vitrify like a glaze rather they act the same as the clay body.
The slip fires to the same temperature as the clay you're decorating. You do need to make sure that the slip you use is ok to fire at the clay firing temperature but they tend to have a very wide firing range. You only use slips on greenware before firing the clay generally thanks to the shrinkage that happens during firing. 😊
Thanks. I bought these decorating slips but you can make coloured slip by mixing clay with water and coloured mason stains. It's best made with a smooth clay as grog makes a sandy textured surface.

Hi. The liquid is decorative coloured slip which is watered down clay with clay stains as pigment to add colour. You can make your own from the clay you use for making (add water and ceramic stain to some dried out clay pieces, leave it to soak then mix) but I admit that I tend to buy them premixed for consistency.
So where are the pics of it fired and glazed. (Clear I assume/hope.) Ya can't just show us something so potentiality cool and not give us some after pics. Give us closure!😟

@@PaulaArmstrongCeramics ~ahhhh closure~ lol. That turned out great. It always amazes me how much things change in the kiln. Here's a share for you. I started doing Friday night kiln opening parties. Put out some snacks. A little wine. I show videos of the stuff in the kiln being made. Pictures of what it looked like when it went in. I have had 6 of them this winter. At 2 of them I sold everything in the kiln and then some. Plus, I got to socialize a little. I always want to finish the sales before my second glass of wine. Lol no use tempting the fates.

Hi. Yes 😊 It was bisque fired to 1000C as it's stoneware clay. I then glazed the inside with transparent gloss glaze to show the slip colours. The outside I glazed in a matt turquoise then it was fired again to 1200C to finish it.

Absolutely, reusing is always good ☺️ I've since started using the compostable bags used for food waste instead of the plastic wrap and it seems to work just as well and makes me feel a bit better 😁

Yes, normally you would fire, glaze it (with transparent glaze over the coloured slip decorated sections) then fire again to glaze. ☺️ temperature.
Music is really loud compared to your voice.... Use elastic band around bottle to hold top out of the way ...
