Beth! So glad to see your face! I miss you! Hello from Ottawa! Necessity is indeed the mother of invention. I am not at all surprised you're finding ways to continue to share your pottery passion with others. -Meg
Hi Suzy, I see your concern, i certainly do not allow dust production in my studio either! The clay here is leatherhard, so it's not dusty or dangerous.
Hi. I use a slip recipe. So the answer is no, my decorating slip is not just my clay body watered down. It's still important to do tests to make sure the recipe is suitable for your clay body, but it doesn't have to be the same clay. Thanks for asking!
I am a potter sculptor and now people can't draw or being creative. They cant just draw a simple bird silhouette...same in painting drawing, they trace. Real Art doesn't exist anymor

Thank you for sharing these styles, such good information. What do you use to make the slip colored? Would love to see the finished products.
Nice video Beth! Always great watching you work!
I would love to see the pieces after firing!!!
Love this, my one concern is that you keep blowing fine particles of clay into the air, I don’t allow that in my studio

How many days do you let the slip dry before firing. Thank you
Please show the final product.
Great video. I wish you’d shown the finished product though!
Would love to see what they looked like when fired.
Please explain how you prepare the colored slip...
Does the slip base need to match the clay body of the piece?

Ulujmf, note that I drew the bird onto the newsprint first, as needed for the paper resist technique demonstrated.
Arrhhh...disappointment reigns...no final firing reveal......boohoo.....🥺
I agree! Bad me! One day I'll stick it on the end. So sorry!
