The problem using the T6B out of my 5.7 is when I tested a failure to fire situation. I simulated a light primer strike. When performing a manual ejection on an unfired round the point hangs up. I had to clear the round by ejecting the magazine and letting the round fall though the bottom of the magazine well. This an absolute no go to consider the T6B as a defensive round. Since the T6B (plus the cut) is the same as this round the same ejection issue would occur. I use my 5.7 primarily as a learning tool for new shooters. I will train gun handling and basic shooting skills on a 22. I then use the 5.7 to work on trigger technique. The low recoil and extra loud fire of the 5.7 allows me to see a shooters trigger weaknesses and flinch response. Once we establish good habits versus bad habits we move on to a 9mm to finish the day. This video shows clearly to me this round is not a great choice for a defensive round. Hello from Michigan. I don’t own a 5.7x28 handgun but I’m really interested would you say it’s a good self defense carry gun compared to other full size handguns in 9mm or 45acp
That's usually a very hot topic. IMO with good ammo (SS190, SS198, EA loadings), I think it's just as good as any common pistol caliber loading, with the slight advantage to it for barrier penetration. The issue becomes that it costs 2-3x more for the FSN than a 9/45 gun, so it's hard to justify it from that aspect.
Buffman - R.A.N.G.E. Yea entry price for the gun is a big negative I keep eyeballing the FN . But looking at the ballistics a bit and the cost of ammo isn’t to bad either I think the accuracy and ease of shooting plus it’s round count per mag would make for a good carry gun. It’s a really big toss up for me looking for my first handgun
Do they offer 5.7 loads with good penetration and terminal ballistics? Now that the American Eagle 5.7 plinking loads are becoming so cheap I am thinking of getting a PS90 and SBR'ing it.

Ohh I did. I had to wait a bit for that to come through :(
Good review, but I was surprised by th relatively low velocity. 2200 fps our of the PS90 especially. Any idea why this is, when heavier (~40g) projectiles can routinely get pushed to 2400-2500 in a regular P90?
I'm not aware of any 40gr that can hit 2500fps even in the 16". SS197SR will hit 2200 in the 16" 2400 is what I've hit with the EA's TMJ. I did hit 2300 fps in this with the 16'". I do agree we should see more velocity out of it..
You're right, I looked back at my source, and they were 31g projectiles (my mistake), but they were still almost 200fps faster than this loading.
It is an SBR PS90, taking off 6 + inches of barrel will drop velocities.
+Elite Ammunition, Jay Wolf
But the other rounds with the higher velocities were getting those out of a standard *P90* , which has the same barrel length as this SBR
Please source same weight rounds going faster from same weapon.
Hey man you do any 10mm reviews?
Only some basic 10mm velocity tests. I know The Chopping Block and AR15.com do them.
Buffman - R.A.N.G.E. Thanks man
Interesting. Looks a lot like a 5.45 with the long neck, followed by two side-by-side connected 'bubbles' of TSC.
Yep. Super long.
Instagram link not working for me.
Sorry i forgot the URL changed instagram.com/buffmanrange/
How would you compare the t6b, vanguard black fang and the devastator? I have the black fang and it runs good thru my 5.7
I think the t6B and BF design are better than the Dev.
The Vanguard is a rip off of EA's design.
Elite Ammunition, Jay Wolf only BF is faster.
made of soft copper and does not penetrate anywhere near as much.
joe jones Did ass. Patent attorneys won't touch a interstate lawsuit without a 100 grand up front. Since patent infringement settlememt has to be paid out of pocket the company who has to pay just declares bankruptcy. That is why the attorneys want all their fees up front. Rip off fuck fang can't touch the T6B on performance. Body armor that stops FF cold the T6B rips through.
Im in genesee county where are you at?
St Joe/Kzoo County :D
Not far at all I have 40 acres and a half mile horse track shoot from the truck, its a blast if you ever want to shoot, love your videos man 5 stars

Is rugged 5.7 and fn 5.7 the same
Rugged 5.7?
Any bolt action rifles in this caliber
Not unless custom one off.
I’d take the 5.7 anyway over the ps90, having the ability to draw a bead faster is more important than a few extra FPS from the worlds deadliest air soft gun. Such a ridiculous looking and impractically designed contraption.
Have you shot a PS90?
Yes, that’s why I have no interest in them.
very speed bullet big velocity 2,000 feet for seg
1900FPS in a handgun!
Why is there a cover on the magazine
Which mag?
@@BuffRANGE I thought it was a magazine on the bottom of the SPR. Lol
Thats not where the mag goes on a ps90 and it is a bag that is used to catch brass for reloading.
Who wheres soft armor though.
Quite a bit of people still do.
Confused as to who will come and take them huh>
You need to stop using the rifle one . Your not gonna use it for self defense carry
Who's to say someone isn't using that on their bed side?
i dont really feel comfortable watching left handed people shoot
Why is that.
@@BuffRANGE it feels like they're gonna get hit by the ejecting cases or something
@@sasori21153 I get hit a lot with cases no matter what hand. Although with a sub2000 from Keltec that one will plow you right in the nose with spent cases :(
😳
1800fps....? No thanks. I'll stick to BLACK dragon fang and RR 37 F/X. 2200fps or GTFO Jay. Yeah you. Im talking to you and your slow LEO offers. Everyone is now shopping elsewhere. You have a slow 55 gr round called the Penatrator? Please. Id rather use American eagle against armour. Time to close your shop and walk away in defeat. You loose again.
The Penetrator was never meant to be a velocity king. This was created back in the day for people wanting a supersonic 55gr FMJ. As far as the velocities of these, Perhaps Jay will increase the velocity of them.
Buffman - R.A.N.G.E. Thats all good, but why name it Penetrator then? That nist sounds like bad R&D or like someone was trying to make a quick buck. Im sticking with R&R and Vangaurd BF
Probably because in bare gel and non armor barriers it will "penetrate" a lot. I personally don't see a need for it in this platform unless it's subsonic, but they created it for a specific request back in the day, so it's there if someone wants it.
What is loose?? You mean lose??
Be a good varmint gun ...
Troll
5.7 is the most overrated cartridge created
Why do you say that?
The 357SIG will smoke the 5.7 65gr@2350fps😎👍
But size and shape of 357 will impede armor penetration :/
@@BuffRANGE cant sharpen the tip?
SLOW TRASH unpredictable elite ammo. Poor quality control. I got rid of all my elite garbage. And bought the good stuff. JAY at elite is is a chump.
what's the good stuff you bought...
Wow
Please quit with the awful music I have to turn up the audio to hear you and you cut to the loud music thanks
sorry. I dropped the music gain to -15db so it's quieter, but I put it on slow mo so you know the video is progressing :D
Load that one again and shoot it.
Very ugly weapon ps90
He has feelings too :(
@@BuffRANGE well go get a face lift lol
