Same, when I wake up each Sunday morning, I make breakfast, coffee, then sit down with my 5yr old son and together we watch Tyler Thompson & Ronny Dahl’s new videos back to back. Great way to start the day. Something I look forward to.
Nic is a HOOT -- great sense of humour and he mixes well with you guys. Keep him on where possible -- I really enjoy the casual style you guys have yet you also show a professional level of responsibility when it comes to the serious and safety critical side of the game -- most entertaining and fun to watch ! !
@@TylerThompson90 trans fluid better penetrene..plus, mix 500ml with g/box oil..unless modern, then will allredy have trans fluid in box..like ZF boxes.. if p/s leaking, will only be bottom 2 seals,,$30..
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time, I don’t even own an 80 series but I think this was my fav episode yet. I enjoy doing mechanical work these days & have learned a lot. I like Toyotas and it never gets old listening to Nissan owners knocking Toyotas. One time around 15yrs ago my Prado had a loose starter motor plug & wouldnt re-start while on the Glass House Mtns tracks that was beyond my capability at the time to diagnose and a mechanic in a GQ Patrol arrived to help, and boy wasn’t he laying into & whinging about Toyotas while he was fixing my car. He got a piece of wood, hopped under the car and pushed the plug back in with it. I was going to give him $50 for his help but by the end of it I decided not to give it to him haha. I told him if I had any cash in my wallet I would’ve given him $50 for his trouble.
I've done all of this on my 1hz 80 series while covid was happening and you are lucky due to having 2 vehicles and the finances of 2 incomes I did it all with just my one wage and saving up for months to do this... the benefit of having 2 vehicles is when you need parts and can get to the spare parts shop ...... I had to organise couriers all the time and the expense grrrrr..... and you had a friend who was a mechanic come over to help.... but... I've done it and I did it all myself... 1 thing I did notice, your professional mechanic mate Nick didn't put the Brake Disc Dust Cover Backing Plates back on...you will find several other issues as you go along.. I prefer the 1hz to the petrol version you have... I am loving how Demi is doing most of it herself while you just hold the camera.. typical nisson owner.. lol....... you will need a workshop manual which you can get online and also RUclips videos are a great help.. I have made some for my 80 series. I Love allfourx4, I have been dealing with them for many years now and I'm in Melbourne and I usually have the stuff the next day or the day after... Great service and prompt delivery..
Good to see you both learning how to and taking us all along fir the ride. Awesome yiu got your lil mechanic mate talking you through it as you go. Very handy having a knowledgeable person to help you.
I like your videos Tyler but when you get the misses involved it becomes a video that I can't help but love. Demi is hilarious and then going and adding old mate Nick in as well couldn't stop laughing. Great video and thanks all 4x4 spares for the sponsored video lol.
Great work getting things done yourselves. And you're extremely lucky to have access to knowledgeable people when stuck. Nick is such a legend. Though if you plan to continue to do DIY work on the 80, I'd recommend investing on an 80 Series LandCruiser workshop manual, like the Haynes Land Cruiser 1980 - 1998 Repair Manual, for when you cannot access your experts. I find mine invaluable.
It's marvelous to have sponsors to provide great quality parts, and a network of knowledgeable people eager to lend a hand when needed. To have these types of backing and network is due to your great work being recogised/noticed. Well done.
Demi on the hammer was gold and I nearly broke My laptop when she quoted her mechanic prices as I nearly spat My beer, this was a cool episode, love your work.,
Good work Demi, it's quite a job doing your doing !. It's great to have a bit of help from Nick.... when I did mine I packed the cv joint with moly grease but didn't fill the swivel hub with grease, so I gotta figure out how to fill the swivel hub with grease without pulling it all apart again...
Man your misses is the absolute bloody best. If you ever going to leave her plz pass her my details. Hahahah also need to book her mechanical skills in.
When you change the steering box make sure you upgrade to the 105 series sector shaft its bigger and you will also have to change the pitman arm. No dramas then.
Well you don't this situation often! Tyler your Mrs is a real trooper, just got into what needed to be done! This will be a fantastic project jokes aside both of you will remember and laugh about!
From an ex mechanic it's awesome to see Demi getting in amongst it and working on her car. She'll learn so much, appreciate it so much more, and will be able to help you when you get yourself in the 💩 Cause we know you only stand behind the camera and don't get your hands dirty . . . Lol (Jokes) 👍 🤣 Great work Demi !!! Keep it up 👍👏
😆😆ONE OF BEST EPISODE YET!! The Mrs witty sarcastic comments, swearing, and the 'hit me up' for tools, mechanical work, bearings greased etc etc.. then TTs cracks at the Mrs (month later) and Nick's comments thrown in on top was best laugh ever...BTW, mate saw you the other day, he said all could notice was one shiny mirror..one old mirror... 😆
Nice hints how to grease the bearings... had mine out today on the troopy to readjust them... gave them a nice cleanup and fresh grease😊👍🏼thx, looking forward for the next part
Great content as usual. Nick is an awesome addition with his wit and knowledge. Good to see Demi having a go but starting to become not family friendly 😢
Agreed. It wouldn’t have been easy for her to step up and have a go, especially on camera. She’s a brave girl and the banter between her and Nick was good for a laugh.
I once used a set of heavy duty avm hubs to save myself some cash and i regretted it big time as they let water in like you wouldn't believe. ended up having to rebuild both sides with in a couple years including new cvs. wasn't happy to say the least. I'll never use anything but aisin now. hopefully this won't be the case for you.
Loving the new car and its sweet retro stripes, great watching you both working things out how they come apart (with a bit of help😂). You may have a new T-shirt at 15:15 Mechanic things Cruiser in the background mum covered in grease😊.
On ya Demi, good to see you having a crack . Nothing better than having that achievement that u done it ur self. A good tip when working on 4x4 , hair ties 😅Great work Tyler on the camera . Great job to u both
I 'upgraded' to the GU box on my 105 hoping for lighter steering in the bush and unfortunately I have had nothing but troubles. Doesn't leak though and yes, the sector shaft is a bit thicker, so credit there I guess. Also best thing I ever did was get a ball joint and tie rod end separating tool...
A great informative and hilarious episode 👍 i think if you do all your own mechanical work yourself helps you diagnose and fix problems when stuck, out in the bush. Why didn't we demi greasing the drivers spindle? Oh that's right, family show😂😂😂👍👍
We all love dirty girls!! Nah, great that you're having a crack Demi. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you learning as you go & you're a riot with your savage quips. Hey! Zeph is walking!!!
Toyota fanboi and nissan fanboi has been fighting for ages but their fight from different houses...and..tyler take it to another level toyota and nissan fanboi fighting lived in the same house 😂
Oh Demi, going to have her own channel soon - great work and getting down and dirty. Hourly rate was a kak mate- depend whether I have clothes on 😂😂😂🥳🥳🥳🤣🤣🤣🎉🎉🎉
That mechanic is a real character, can we have him as a regular? 😂
Love watching Nick with his witty comments. Feature him in more episodes. He is a character.
This is becoming a Sunday morning routine pancakes bacon and coffee and a Tyler video. Love it
Enjoying durian on my sunday morning cheers bois 🤘🏻
almost any sunday routine with pancakes, bacon and coffee is almost as good as it gets anyway
Same, when I wake up each Sunday morning, I make breakfast, coffee, then sit down with my 5yr old son and together we watch Tyler Thompson & Ronny Dahl’s new videos back to back. Great way to start the day. Something I look forward to.
Love how Demi has a go at anything! Great way to learn about fixing things too!

I have only one word for Demi. " LEGEND "
Good video Tyler & Demi. getting amongst it is where it's at. Nick and Demi work well together and it a good dynamic.

I love how Demi is having a go a fixing things. I know you don't cook hahaha classic
When you do wheel bearings etc buy ya self a box of sergical gloves makes life easier 👍
I wear them whenever I service things on my 4wd. Take them off afterward and the hands are clean. I hate trying to wash oil & grease off the hands.
Killer title & killer vid 🎉🎉

Demi when my 79 needs it's swivel hubs and bearings done i will give you a call

Gee Tyler your Toyota mechanic is better looking than mine great episode guys 😁 cheers legends

"please do not take this as an instruction video, this is just us trying to get it out" 😂😂😂

Great vid guys, loved it.. I reckon it won't be long before Demi is the preeminent expert in Team Thompson..
Don't bag the zooks bro. They're heaps of fun. 😁
So are fat chicks but you don't let your mates see you in one😂

Great vid...have to get some Merch... 🙂
Block of wood on spindle, hit that
Good work team.
A great informative and hilarious episode 👍 i think if you do all your own mechanical work yourself helps you diagnose and fix problems when stuck, out in the bush. Why didn't we demi greasing the drivers spindle? Oh that's right, family show😂😂😂👍👍

Great work guys (Demi) like this type of build videos where you are more hands on
Forgot to put stone guards back on ??
Is there a reason why the backing plates didn't go back on with the spindle bolts 🙄
Nick must be nearly full time on the payroll!
Great video mate
