Good evening man. I’m a few projects away from a sauna but would like a slightly bigger one and we will get there. One thing u do need for the sauna is a water bucket to humidify the air a little and the even more important thing is a wee felt cap or Sunna hat for you head. Look into that one

Yep, I have water in there for the lava rocks. I've seen those felt caps...will need to read up on them.

Thanks for the in depth detail. It looks like it was a successful build.

Sauna is very high on our list, though we likely won't try to build it (in addition to being short on tools, skills, and free time, I have shoulder surgery coming up soon). We plan to take advantage of our solar panels and go electric. Looking forward to sitting in a hot box!

Pace yourself esp. with that shoulder! It took me almost 15 years to commit to my sauna build here!

I love this idea. Do you feel that the sauna has health benefits? Have you noticed any?

Do you think insulation within the pallet air gap would make sense? Thinking about heat up time mostly

In the process I researched a lot of Scandinavian builds and many of those aren't insulated either. In the long run insulation is usually for long term heat storage. Going without also saves on expense.
