I've recently made the discovery that I'm a lazy bair falco, but i think rather than laziness it's a lack of confidence in my combo extensions. that being said the information you presented here really clicked with my brain, so thank you for that, gonna go grind it out now.
good analogy, it happens to me plenty of times where i get a combo starter/extension that I wasnt confident in so i just end it quickly with a bair instead of extending the combo. Its much easier said than done to change this habit but its probably one of the most important things for improving melee players to focus on
Falco up-air is the most underutilized combo starter in his kit. It's so good to just go in with it and see how most people don't know what to do when they get hit by it.
This was definitiely helpful. I only wishy u explained different combo routes for different characters on different stages cuz I find myself ending my combos early with back air just like you said
*taco commercial with the little girl* Why not both?! But really this video took a lot of work. I worked on a previous one for four hours then just scrapped it. So these will be gatekept by sub goals probably. Highlights aren't as taxing on me since I just have all the clips already and don't have to make a script and learn it.
V nice video bro! Im a lazy early bair falco main lol. Liked the runway idea and will pay attention to these setups next time. Maybe I’ll gold ranked :b
Oh wow did not expect a logos tutorial when I woke up today! This runway concept actually helps a lot. By the way, I noticed Logos had a donation goal for a platform tech chasing and marth pillaring guide, but in recent videos the goal is gone. I’m guessing he never met it? (I don’t have twitch lol)
I just started grinding falco after years of playing marth. Have you thought about doing some lessons on metafy? You seem like you would be a chill and helpful teacher. The scheduling is completely up to your availability. I would be willing to try one if you do. Cheers.
Can you make a more detailed video on the topic of falco's combo game overall? I dont think theres an actually good comprehensive guide to it out there. I know its complicated but still
Great video. Quick question. I struggle with wavelanding onto a platform after shining opponent. It's easiest to shine waveland on top plat, but shine waveland onto sid plats (ESPECIALLY FOD) is impossible for me, like maybe every 1/15 I'll get. I get stuck in shine or am not inputting the waveland fast enough so I end up airdodging onto the plat. How can I get better at this?
@@LogosLFTG let me correct myself. I meant jump --> shine --> waveland, like you do in the video. I get stuck in shine in midair, or cannot jump out of shine fast enough to get a crisp waveland
Wait platforms are seen as obstacles? By who? Anyone who plays at a decent level knows using them is crucial whenever possible. Not a criticism of the vid btw, just amazed how some people think about the game.
@@LogosLFTG I get that slide off has changed the platform game, fair point, but I feel like a lot of characters, falco in particular, need them to fully utilise their combo tools.

That showcase of the runway is soooo helpful, never thought about it that way before at all. Thanks for the great content Logos!!!!
That stuff about the early bair is so true! I noticed I often end combos too early by doing that, almost cost me a set in my monthly

It should be the same as long as you double jump, Waveland is harder if you only full hop

They still are at high level, slide off is a huge threat. Thats why punish game is always leveled up on fd by every character
