When I was 15 my dad committed suicide. When I was 20 my mum was diagnosed with cancer and said she would only have 3 months to live, she died 3 weeks later. I was nearly homeless lost my job. That was two years ago. now I have a job, I have a business I have enough for a mortgage to buy my own property. I'm 24 now, no matter what happeneds in your life you always have a choice and a chance.

As an addict myself, not with weed though, I can see where he's coming from. No. Weed isn't physically addicting. Without it you don't get withdrawal symptoms. But it can be mentally addicting. People can get anxiety, social disorders, and a few other things when they don't have it. But I have a problem with him using the word addiction. He's never laid in bed in the morning sweating, puking, and shaking over weed. Yes, I know I'm the only one to blame for my addiction. I'm not blaming anyone but myself. But when someone uses the word addicted and weed in the same sentence, it offends me. Because weed is not addictive. Pills are addictive. Coke is addictive. Meth is addictive. And before anyone is quick to jump down my throat for being an addict, just know that I'm 3 years clean now. But I still use the term addict. Because using the phrase "recovering addict" makes it not seem as serious. If I use the word addict, it makes me still want to continue to fight to stay sober. If anyone is still here reading this, if you're struggling with an addiction, just know that you can get clean. I was addicted to pills for 6 years. Every day. All day. Now I'm 3 years sober. You can do it too. It's not going to be easy. To this day, it's still the hardest thing I've ever had to do. You will fight urges every single day. You'll want to go and get fucked up. But you have to fight all those urges. You have to stand up to your addiction! If you're struggling with an addiction, just know that it does get better.
Thank you and congrats on your 3 years sobriety! I just finished a 30 day impatient for oxys and just can't seem to stay clean for any significant period of time. t's caused so much pain and suffering not only to myself, but to my family as well. Like you said...it's by far one of the hardest thing someone can go through. My addiction spiraled out of control all stemming from getting my wisdom teeth pulled...and that was 4-5 years ago. I'm not sure i'll ever be able to break this vicious cycle, but I know I have no chance of living a happy and successful life until I do so. But I feel the same way you do in that calling weed "his drug addiction'' is just ludicrous (pun intended) and offensive. He doesn't know the first thing about addiction or how it re-wires ones brain....and I personally hope he never has to find out the hard way. No one should.

Just wanna say one thing here. "Mentally physical?" Good post, texts like that can give the hopeless that little bit of hope they need to start getting their lives back.
Addiction is the only prison where the locks are on the inside. As a superhero in training, I know first hand that there is no chemical solution to a spiritual problem. Steer clear of the distractions and find something productive that you love to do to fill that void. Have a good one, boys & girls.

You can't physically get addicted to weed, although, you can begin to have a mental dependency on it. So, it's not actually an "addiction", but that's what some people call it.

BaeLeaf Mental addiction, psychological addiction/ craving is very much a real addiction. People dont instantly become physically dependant on heroin it starts with a craving for the drug. Same with cocaine although i would argue that cocaine is about as physically addicting as cannabis (neither real cause physical dependancy in a withdrawl sense) but either way that is how all addictions start before pysical dependancy kicks in. It is very real and very powerful.
they made a lot of sense actually. A physical addiction will cause illness if you go through withdrawal. But some people get a "mental dependency" as BaeLeaf said, so they will feel like they need it to cope and go through the daily grind.

Although, what most people would consider an "addiction" is not what you receive before the actual addiction begins. It still takes a bit to get to that point. The pre-affects before an addiction are bearable to an extent, while the actual addiction can't be bearable at all.

Weed helps with my axienty and depression, I used to be addicted to the pills I was presribed as a teen and it made me feel like a zombie when I was on those pills as they kept increasing the dosage of my anti depressant and axienty pills 10mg to 20mg and so on.. it just keep increasing as months went by, and ever since I switch to weed (as a self-medication drug) I felt way better than those chemically made pharmaceutical pills.

at 16 years old I knew where I wanted to be but my influences around didn't let me get to my goal at the time. I changed some of my influences and habits and now at 19 years old I'm able to say I meet my goal and other goals I had on my list, when some of those goals I gave myself 7 years to achieve. I learned from the old folks. God bless everyone. If you can't reach your goal reflect on it and come at it another way.

I've got nothing against weed, I occasionally smoke sometimes. But I was exposed to the drug at 15 years old, at such a young age and no responsibility I started smoking everyday. The truth is its not going to ruin your life, but it makes you feel okay with being bored, and its when you are bored you should be learning a new skill or discovering something and being creative and when you grow up you might find that you're not good at anything. It's important to remember that weed should be taking for the right reasons and not for the wrong.

Big respects homie!! I'm dealing with depression and anxiety. I was taking medication but decided that I wanted to be strong enough to deal with it in my own. I do have some rough days but I fight it with the thought that there is a bright light at the end of this. I'm a photographer on the side of my regular work. I'm also trying to learn about film making. I was starting to second guess my goals. Feeling unmotivated about my passion. I was starting to think to my self that maybe this is what I was meant to do and work 9 to 5 and support my family doing something I didn't LOVE doing. Although I get paid good enough to get by. Still wasn't happy doing what I was doing. I love photography and really want to learn about film making. There is a lot of people that needed to hear your message! I know I did! You just ignited my fire! Thanks brotha! 🙏🏽
Fernando Fernández510 Same here. A lot of people be like, take meds, don't do or go to places that trigger your anxiety... basically don't fight against it. Its been 3 years, and I have been coping with it myself. Exercising, eating healthy, sleeping better, keeping a balanced life... I used to have panic attacks every day, then they happened once in a week... Now it happens once in three months or so, and know how to control it, lasting only 5 to 1 min.
Meds can stop making you depressed, but they don't make you happy either. People I know that took these, became so indifferent about everything, so they stopped.
Keep fighting people, you can do it!

When I was a kid, I always loved watching RUclips videos from OGs like Ryan Higa and Kevjumba. Over time, I discovered your channel and a few others that I admired so much. As a kid, I always wanted to make videos just so I could make people laugh but then I came across vlogging and vlogs in general. Channels like yours and Casey's inspired me so incredibly much to the point where I decided to finally pick up my phone and start talking to it. I can't daily vlog because of college, but just creating in general makes me so happy. As long as I'm improving, that's what makes me happiest. You most likely won't see this but thanks so much Jesse, for helping to introduce me to a passion I never thought I'd have. Even though I'm no where near as great as actual vloggers, it's an incredible source of happiness for me, so thank you again. Thank you so much!

I'm with you 100%. My mom died as a result of alcoholism. I, myself, am an alcoholic and an addict. I have 7 years sober off of EVERYTHING except for weed and coffee. The only thing is one is allowed by the state while the other may be illegal if the person doesn't have the proper permits or is in a state where marijuana is still illegal. Chemically and functionally they are identical. CBD oil however is different as it lacks all TCH which is the psychoactive component of marijuana.

Just to clarify 5:57, your brain actually produces LESS endorphins in order to maintain homeostasis against the pain killers (i.e: fentanyl or other opioid derivatives) since they are already packed with endorphins. So how does this cause withdrawal symptoms? Well, when the effects of the drug wears off, you are left with lower amount of your natural endorphins which not only is painful, but also in order to maintain the former euphoric state, you would have to take more pain killers than you initially did.

Hi Dani Cat, I'm so sorry to hear that you're taking all of that medication. I once had a patient who had neurologic pain after an accident, and she too was prescribed a bunch of pain pills. She would still be writhing in pain after taking them and it was an endless cycle of downing pills. We got her medical marijuana as a last resort, and it worked like a charm. She couldn't even ambulate before and now she walks into the office without a care in the world. I have never smoked weed or anything else my entire life, but I have seen weed help patients to a great degree. Ask your doc if he/she can get you medical marijuana. All the best.

Freshman year of high school I smoked weed everyday and I would just come home and sleep and not worry about nothing and just ignore my grades, so I just decided to not do that and change just because I was tired of what I was doing. Now I'm doing really good in life and enjoying everything. But still when there dark times I go to it just like you and I think that is fine. But with that said my goal is too be a director. I've been into that since I was little and I'm learning little by little. By the way your my inspiration.🙏🏼

CHS is new to the weed community and sends most people to the hospital, just trying to spread awareness. I smoked weed for years and loved it but once i experienced CHS, smoking weed wasn't worth it. I lost 30lbs and couldn't eat without smoking and I was constantly throwing up. It took me almost 2 weeks without smoking for my symptoms to go away.
