I've been work with EKX & ELX - without sub they are not so powerfull in low frequencies, that's why I use ekx 15sp. But If you need to be mobile the deference in sound between ELX200 12p & EKX 12p is minimal for middle hears, but the weight is real - almost 6 kg when pair in use. So in everyday stage mode EKX more beautiful and clear, but ELX has lower weight. And what about ETX - if you have extra money and need extra power with clear sound - it's your choice. In conclusion all versions are good as all. Thank you, very much for attention))))
It was hard to tell because of the speaker on my computer, but the ETX had a richer sound with more depth. I own a pair of ETX12p's and a pair of EKX12p's and I love them. The ETX might have sounded better to me, so I could justify the extra money I paid for them! All kidding a side, I love the sound I get from the speakers. I have worked with the ZLX's and they also sound very good! In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any of them.
@ 0 db The ELX200 sounded neutral but @ +5db the ELX sound similar to the ETX @ 0 db. ETX has more more depth at any db in my opinion and it may have more to do with ETX larger wood enclosure. Next lets get the EKX 18SP vs the ELX200 18SP comparison.
To my ears the ETX had a tighter bass, and the ELX bass sounded a bit muddy compared to ETX. I'm not sure if its worth $600 difference in price, especially if you go with 2, then $1200. They both sounded good though.
elx vs etx up to 5db sounded pretty good with the etx offering a more balanced fuller sound and the elx giving a brighter sound, but not bad sounding either, it was when you pushed the elx to 10db I heard unpleasant distortion of the high mids and highs and the etx remained balanced and full with no audible distortion. I would wait and save up for the higher end speaker knowing this. Buy right once and you don't have to buy again and that will save you some money in the long run. I gotta hear the etx vs ekx now to hear which one offers more bang for the buck.
Saludos
etx did sound much cleaner with more volume or more extended sound kind of like using a bb821 turning it off or on. great speakers great sound either way
The audio from the ELX is not as crisp and clear from the ETX, but the average person listening wouldn't notice unless they were side by side like you are doing in the video.
Haha. For all intents and purposes, these two sound the same. With comments saying one sounds better than the other, I call bs. At the end of the day, people will be happily bobbing their heads to either of these models cause EV makes a great speaker. 99.9% of the people won’t know the difference.
I don't hear much of a difference, I think the pluck of the bass is more defined on the elx believe it or not but I am sure the etx has better overall range and spl. I haven't looked at any of the specs but for a 12 giving mid bass i think they both do a good job.
All lacked tight ass bass!! Flat and plain sound. I have been to the best clubs in japan and germany and these sound like me desktop speakers!! You need to play some " Exit Light " by Metallica to get a true sound check !!! These monitors need to be amped up like an old school JBL monitor with the DBX EQ UP to the max! Then i would consider buying one of these if no others can keep up......

What's the best settings for optimal bass and and tops settings for indoor/outdoor events venues etc?

There is a lot off difference between the two ETX n EKX. I own a pair of EKX15p

Could you please do a comparison video between the ElectroVoice ETX35P, QSC KW153, & the JBL’s SRX835P & PRX835W? Thanks.

Si ya los probaste dejame saber q tanta es la diferencia entre el ELX y el EKX por favor, gracias!

@@pedromoreno1772 tengo un bajo ELX200 de 18", entonces me quedo como estoy, gracias por el dato. Saludos!
My take:
If i want to rely on TOPS to be full range with some "Punch" to it, I'd go ETX
If I want to rely on TOPS to just provide mid /hi I'd go ELX.

so the ETX 10p there is more BASS than the 12 p ZLX?
Guitar is so pronounced in ETX, it’s worth the extra bucks
ETX alot warmer, bass more pronounced highs are not as bright..definitely sounds more commanding at higher volumes
The audio from the ELX is not as crisp and clear from the ETX, but the average person listening wouldn't notice unless they were side by side like you are doing in the video.
Was that the 200-12P?
Do a clip light comparison
to me they sound the same. End of the line will be the etx have more power for bass and volume when turned right up be much more clear at high volumes

I hear more low midrange in the ETX. Could get similar results using EQ on the ELX. The biggest difference is ETXs horsepower.
Etx amazing 👏
Save your money stay with elx12p
Much cleaner sound coming from the ETX.

the guitar cuts and sounds better on the elx
My ev sxa250 are better then all of these 😄🔊
my zxa5s would smoke those 🔥
