    I have 2 Everse 8s and 1 Everse 12. Which setup would be best for a solo musician playing guitar vocals with backing tracks?

    Great video! Thanks for having the meter reading dBC (as it should be). Performance between the two systems was closer than I would have guessed, both in dB and power draw. Good info for sure.

    Great job! Stacking subs is very important for a free dB boost! Do you think 2 of the 12 inch subs would equal or outperform a single 18" ELX200-18SP?

    • @discjockeynews

      Great question! One 12" sub has the surface area of ~113 square inches (X2 =226 square inches for 2 12" subs). A single 18" sub has the surface area of ~254 square inches. So, the single 18" sub would move more air than 2 12" subs. However, the 2 12" subs would have the equivalent surface area a 17" sub. Hope this helps!

      Yes, I did a test and two stacked 12 inch subs sounded as good as the single 18

    Thank you very much for the video, it speaks to me because I have the Evolve 50 and ELX200 10P tops. I have four ELX200 10P tops, and I ordered yesterday 2 EKX 15SP to match to ELX200 10P tops. You are saying like other DJs that it's more efficient to stack the subs apart from the tops. I have a 2 person band for folk music, sometimes 3. When I play alone in restaurants I take the Evolve 50 which are more than enough. For bigger venues I add the four ELX200 10P but we lack bass. Now with the 2 EKX 15SP in the middle and two tops each side of the stage that will be enough. And I can always add the Evolve 50 for more sound. Do I have to stack the subs or can I have them side by side in the middle ? Someone told me that if I stack them or put them side by side I would get 3 db more, is that true ? What do you think about the 4 ELX200 10P in combination with the EKX 15 SP ?
    Thank you from Brussels and have a wonderful 2024 year ☺

      Thanks for the feedback! Stacking the subs or placing them side by side results are the same. The subs are then coupled and they do achieve the 3db boost from the coupling. The two EKX 15SP subs would move ~3X the amount of air as the single Evolv 50 12" sub (~1.5X more than two Evolv 50s). Also, the 4 ELX200 10P tops with 2 EKX 15 SP subs could be a great setup! Depending on placement (if you place the tops next to each other with spread or separately around the room) you could cover a big space! Hope this helps!

      I don't have the Evolve 50 but have the sam then you @skiizo 4 tops Elx 200-10p + 2 subs Ekx 15sp ans it rocks a lot... it's a great combination !

      @@djsevenways3045 Oh thank you for the feedback ! I'm so glad that this combination seem to work. Thanks a lot and have a wonderful 2024 year 😀 I have a fork for putting two tops close one to each other like the K&M 24105. Will you get also a 3db boost when coupling the tops ? How do you place your tops and EKX 15Sp ?

    When you stack em on top of each other, do both subs have to be at cardiod? Or only one should be in cardiod mode and which sub should be? Top or bottom?

    • @discjockeynews
      @discjockeynews  8 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! Neither sub needs to be in cardioid mode to accomplish the louder effect. Just the placement of coupling the subs together (stacked or side by side) will achieve the louder effect. Hope this helps!

    I do a one man band and need to occasionally mic my bass drum. Not often. I use the everse 8 a lot. I have the evolve 50 but use it so rarely it’s a hassle to bring out. I’m curious to replace it with a ZLX or ELX speaker. Any thoughts if a 12 or 15 could handle some bass drum?

    Interesting comment about stacking the subs! So not side by side? I have 2 ELX118P's.

    • @discjockeynews

      either way works equally well. as long as they are tight together.. I just like the stack since it make less of a footprint.

    Evolve might have clarity vs for ELX200. Evolve lacks long throw highs and lows. Evolve is light weight compact speaker. Evolve great small venue. Add the sub for medium size. For larger events I use Bassboss DV12s and BB15.

    I need an honest tech question. No opinions, only FACTS Please. I have 2 EV50's (they need more low end), so My question is: Would adding 2 more EV50's Column Arrays, or adding two (2) more (subs) ELX200's 12SP be more beneficial for the low end (keeping cost in mind too). Now, the 3rd option is: Replace the EV 50's and add two (2) Maui LD 44 G2's? Fact answer's only, please only answer if you have experience with this equipment (Please don't answer if you only read the manual).

    • @13bcoffee
      @13bcoffee Месяц назад

      You can get two 12SP subs and stack them together. This gives you a nice kick similar to an 18 inch sub. Subs can hit lower and move more air than a regular woofer. So yes you could add more bass with two more EV50s but the bass added would not hit as low as subs would. Your other option with the Maui will just add cost that you don't need to add.
      In my case, I added a single RCF 15 inch sub to my Evox and things sound great!

      @@13bcoffee Thank you. I've been carrying an extra EKX18SP. I was wondering which option would be more beneficial with feedback based off actual use. My vision would be stacking the EV 50 atop the 12SP White. Hoping this would give a nice clean bass, without clipping peak on the 50's .
