      Liam McMars Britain’s a country with 67,000,000 people and massive regional differences there is some great food there, in my opinion both British and Irish food is underrated and If a lot of the dishes had a French name they would be much more popular

    I heard that Cornish Pasties were made to withstand being dropped down a mine shaft. That way, if that happened, the miner would still have a fairly intact meal and not be hungry or anything when they had time to eat. I LOVE Cornish Pasties. So good.

  • @heatherpearce6205
    @heatherpearce6205 4 года назад +2

    I made cornish pasties for the first time a few years back and used a quite old recipe that called for rutabagas instead of mashed potatoes. I come from a family of farmers and have NEVER really liked rutabagas, but in the pasties I made they TOTALLY became DELICIOUS! I've tried them since in split pea soup and some other recipes and in the right recipe they're pretty great.

      So Ireland invaded Scotland for about 800 years and divided the country to this day and imposed shit like Act for the Settlement of Ireland(change that to Scotland if it#ll make you feel better) 1652 and the Papists Act 1778. and the Penal Laws and the Famine etc etc?
      Comparing the Gaels taking over the kingdom of the Picts in around 1013 AD to English rule in Ireland is not only a false equivalency but just really fucking stupid. You're also ignoring that Scotland tried to invade Ireland at the same time (around the 1300s), because it was kind of a common trend back then.
      Eitherway, Scotland is not divided like Ireland is today, the negative impact is nill. And you're full of shit.

They know they generate the most hits on their videos when those videos are about American things, because the US is English speaking, and has 320 million people who are always online. It's not a merit thing why they do so many American segments, it's a population thing. I'm sure Americans make up a huge percentage of total youtube visitors. A lot of browsing Americans on youtube willing to check videos out when those videos seem to be referencing the US. Facts is just playing to that big market, trying to cheaply build their brand up. They'll move away as they continue to grow.

      +NinjaGamingAssasin Yeah, but seeing as america is the centre of the universe, that's not surprising. Everyone everywhere gets a ton of american entertainment, but it does not work the other way round. So most countries have a good solid understanding of the states, but those in the US often do not know much of other countries. I mean I live in canada, which is pretty freaking close to the US, and I have spoken to plenty of americans who know jack shit about it. now, I'm not saying that EVERY american is ignorant of things outside of the US, because I am sure plenty do, but there is a good chunk of the population that cares not about things not inside their country.
      I mean really, how hard is it to know if the neighboring country has a president or a P.M? Or that it's NOT covered in snow all year round? Or that we do actually have our own flag, and not just the "england flag".
      And If I get told we should "throw off the shackles of the tyrannical monarchy" one more time I will crack.

      ***** Well I live in Canada and don't watch canadian TV. Because there isn't any. One of the most popular ones was in the eighties, which was the beachcombers, and I shit you not, it was a show about these guys who collected driftwood. And their rival tried to take their driftwood. Yeah, THAT was what we got. So if we get lucky, we get mentioned or filmed in by US TV. I would have to pick Alaska. But probably because that one's closest. I would assume TV, and moviewise, you are in a similar situation with England? Because at least from where I'm standing, they make a LOT of TV, and so would probably be flooding your stations with it.

      stoney71 I may not be full Irish but it's just Geography get over it most Irish just want people to know they're independent. Since obviously there can be confusion between R. Ireland and N. Ireland but no one really cares about geography people in Alaska don't care they're closer to Canada they just care about being Americans

      All of these foods are delicious! One is Cornish, another Scottish. And pork crackling is not unique to Britain.
