How complicated this whole story is... It fascinates me how great roger waters is at storytelling. This whole opera came out of Roger's life experiences and he twisted it into a movie and best selling album. Absolutely great.
@@uhtredragnarson8087 the whole concept for the wall was when Roger was performing live the audience was being roudy and noisy and when he told them to stop they didnt so he told the band to stop and got off stage ( sorry kind of a bad explanation ) then he was told to go see a psychologist and he explained that he just wanted to build a wall between himself and everyone else ( also yes i am aware that this comment is from 3 years ago )
I’m positive it’s a no vocals track played over the loudspeakers in the auditorium. I’m pretty sure they used voiceovers and song tracks for Vera, Bring The Boys Back Home and this. But yes, this must have been a lot of fun to perform live
Yes, and there were actually other animations in the concert that weren't featured in the movie such as the "Is There Anybody Out There?" sequence from Bring the Boys Back Home which features Gerald Scarfe's artwork from Wish You Were Here and Animals. ruclips.net/video/E5VAsi0IShg/видео.html
Agreed. But Waters has lost his voice. I guess because forced his voice to sing in high tones closed to his voice limits, over the years lost his highs. I remember when he sang in Pink Floyd's reunion for live 8, the Comfortably Numb, he barely could sing. But Waters' performance in this song will be remembered forever.
it's because he almost lost his hearing back in 90's (cmiiw), he still can sing in his new album but not live...i guess he needs more concentration and stamina to do so. It's hard to even talk when you couldn't hear.
I love how roger waters sing, its so deep and crazy, it fits the album really well. He writes the best songs and i think The Wall is the best peice of art made by Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands to ever grace this Earth. Have you ever heard music that can make you visualize so much? This song is no exception; it is a true masterpiece.
I just wish they would release these animations again in their original format because they are some of the best pieces of animation to ever exist. I’m hoping they will finally deliver with the 50th anniversary box set in 2029

I really want to see this version uploaded in HD somewhere. As far as I can find, this is the only video that has the deleted (at least from the movie) animation where the one crowd member screams "Go on Judge, shit on him!" (timestamp is 4:28), as well as the second shot of Pink in the wall before the Judge delivers his verdict (timestamp is 4:41). There's a lot of changes, and, most likely, a few extra seconds of animation missing, from this to the movie, and you can probably spend hours picking apart the live preformance version of this compaired to the movie. I love the old, grungy look this has, but its a shame that the band or their label hasn't uploaded another version of this somewhere.
youtube is being lame and all the comments are screwed up! luckily it was pretty obvious what comment this was replying to. yeah i really wanna see the wall. it sounds cool! plus all the story and metaphorical stuff behind this album is really interesting, and it would probably make the concert videos make much more sense.
