I watching the back catalog of your videos, started with the Astra and working up to where I started with your chanenl around a year and a half back. These older videos are superb, the detail in the builds is great.
Glad you use wellseal and it is still available. Always remember going into a local auto shop and asking for a tube. "You don't want to use that stuff, it's old fashioned now, people use Hylomar" thrusting a tube in my face. Hylomar is OK but not really in the same league. Something about the smell as well, takes me back to rebuilding Mini gearboxes. Looking forward to the next episode, as I can gloat over the chassis corrosion as my 5 year old Puma is still relatively rust free.
Tony Packe Wellseal is the best! I’ve used hylomar previously however I find they’re limited to their uses and just don’t have the same longevity! I have fond memories in my old mini and have equal love for the other British icon! Thank you for your support 💛
Fantastic series of videos; watched them from beginning to end. Excellent job - and now I need to get on with my NAS 1970 LHD Series 2A 88" restoration and build. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great video again and really pleased you've got the sound balance right. Not only makes the vid more enjoyable but means you're listening to feedback 😉. Looking forward to the next one
Super cool for you to share so much! Working on my own Landy rebuild, thankfully the engine is all good because I don't have that level of knowledge! Keep up the good work!
Another great video. We had a pulley mounted into the wall of our work shop, so just one man could winch a non runner into the shop. I'm sure, you'll make a stunning LR out of this project.
paul sehstedt ahhh the dream!! I’ve wanted a pulley on the wall and to use the winch to pull dead cars in... but not long now till we’re in the new shop!
This is really touching, am not sure what's with me and these vehicles but every time I see them be it a series model, my blood runs even faster. I don't know how but my dream is to own a Td5 one day, the sound a good Td5 engine makes is really gorgeous 🤗🤗. Can't wait for this one to fire up 😊😊. Pressing the 🛎 now
great new project for you a trusty TD5 I have a 02 TD5 myself and its great (most the time) looking forward to see where this project goes and what awesome ness you add to it!!! its great you take so much pride in your work with making sure all is top shape and will last. keep it up
I'm really looking forward to this build, it's nice to see you do a proper job in waiting for new parts rather than rushing and using suspect original parts. Do you have a rough estimate in time as to how long this build will take? Keep up the good work and thanks for posting this video! 😀
Man after my own heart I always used to use welseal all the head gaskets on all the rally and race engine's that I used to build up never had any problems. Like your videos have binge watched them all . Cheers Ty
Watching your vids inspired me to start my own automotive insulation business. Working out of my home garage now but we’ll see where it goes from here.
If you were going to take off the head again how would you line it up TDC and secure the timing chain differently if you don’t have the pin. Taking the head off scares😬. I loved watching what you are doing
Just a thought have you considered building some spec lift type spoons for fork lift . I’ve seen them in action ideal for one person vehicle moment and very handy for any stubborn ones
Hi great video I also had a blown head gasket on my td5 90 been lockdown in africa.quick question is it possible to use loctite shellack on the head gasket and cam carrier thanks great work
just curious do you have a 110 flat roof and sides for a 110 i am busy doing ,ive got a double cab tub for sale need to buy a 110 county tub let me know
Some fab cars at that workshop...a few I might have spotted...corrections welcomed jag coupe, not sure what. Lotus Elan Riley 1.5 not sure. MX5 import. Racing Mini with oil cooler. MGF Austin A40 Rover sterling? Another Jag
that paint-on gasket sealer seems inefficient in terms of effort. Permatex makes a spray-on product that works great. dunno if it's distributed in europe
Anything below 200 000 km is reliable to a certain extent, rather get a 2001 td5 since they have the most reliable engine. If you're in the city you might wanna get a puma for speed or accelerating. But overall a TDI is the best for 4x4
Cornwall's Answer it rolls fine, there’s just a steep incline into the shop, it looks deceiving but it takes roughly 5 men to push a defender into this shop
Good work.
I appreciate your approach to DOING IT RIGHT, not just getting it done.
Cheers!

Your channel popped up as a suggestion, glad it did ,always liked Landies ,not many TD5 engine rebuilds done on you tube ...
Fantastic series of videos; watched them from beginning to end. Excellent job - and now I need to get on with my NAS 1970 LHD Series 2A 88" restoration and build. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very professional working on the floor
Nice Sanderson sb55 mate I have the very same at home. It’s cool to see these still in action. Great forklift
Great video again and really pleased you've got the sound balance right. Not only makes the vid more enjoyable but means you're listening to feedback 😉. Looking forward to the next one
So glad to see you keeping that original 6 cylinder!! Just a Solid platform, smooth operating unit.
Keep it up Buddy!🔧🔩⚙🗜
Must have lost one, can only see 5 😁
So satisfying to watch I would love to have the mechanical knowledge to do this sort of stuff to my defender!
Thank you for your support! It’s taken years to get to a competent level however it’s not unachievable if your passionate! 💛
Juice Motors quick question my passenger door is really difficult to shut unless it’s warm is this normal?
scottlaaa 1984 sounds like the grease inside the lock has dried up, lubricate, adjust accordingly and retest
Juice Motors cheers will try that
Marcus Bruce i have replaced my door seals but it was doing it prior to this. Any advice is always helpful cheers.
Well, the mud flaps and the spare wheel cover look fine 😀
😂
So pleased another video has dropped, looking forward to this one. Have you considered doing a live video where we can ask questions etc?
I certainly would do a live video if I thought it’d be popular enough?! Thank you for your support 💛
That's a cool little Ute!
I love your videos. I am going to go to the Netherlands and buy a 130 when the Epidemic is over. I am thinking about doing a full registration.
Super cool for you to share so much! Working on my own Landy rebuild, thankfully the engine is all good because I don't have that level of knowledge! Keep up the good work!
Good job looking forward to the rest 👍
Land Rovers are top choice in English snowy winters. With that come salted roads. Not a problem here in Australia thank God.
Haven't a mechanical bone in my body but I'd absolutely love to refurb a Defender, they're such cool looking machines.
Love what your doing planing on getting are defender
Great to watch over a should and learn
This old bus....That is a stunning Landy..
The chassis haha. Nice to see the head gasket getting some luv
great video guys looking forward to more!

Like your hard work !
Looking forward to this
Very interesting. Great channel 👍😎

Keep up the good work and thanks for posting this video! 😀
JUST PUSH IT IN!!!! also... cool series man love these cars
Serious job, broke out the 'builders bum' there. Keep em coming.
Ste Gŕadon 😂 you know it’s going to be a tough one!! Thanks for the support!
Another great vid, great to see builds like this, looking forward to the next installment
Gaz Cheers this ones going to a fun one!! Nothing too fancy but lots of muscle! 💪🏻
brill matey really enjoying the builds !
Cosmic Car Works thanks bud! I appreciate your support! 💛
This is an awesome channel and I think it deserves an awesome new logo
Man after my own heart I always used to use welseal all the head gaskets on all the rally and race engine's that I used to build up never had any problems. Like your videos have binge watched them all . Cheers Ty
After torque the head bolts what was that about angles ? Id love to learn to overhaul my discovery 2
Any advice on straightening a tacit chassis drivers side is pushed back around 20mm
Is there a reason it couldn’t just be pushed in by a couple of guys?
Exactly 🤦🏽♂️
Steep slope into the workshop, come and try for yourself 😂
Juice Motors lol, maybe it’s steeper than it looks
Nice video and project! :)
Another assume video sound quality much better thank you... wish the parts where so cheap here in South Africa as well...
Great video - keep up the good work. Cant wait to see what you do to this rusty bugger.
Scho Fueled ahh this ones going to be a fine vessel indeed, with plenty of muscle too! 💪🏻 thank you for the support!! 💛
Great video, keep them coming Im really enjoyimg them. You really are living the dream. And have inspired me to work towards doing what you do someday
great video... loving your work
Rizla--King thank you! Let’s hope it runs well 😂
Watching your vids inspired me to start my own automotive insulation business. Working out of my home garage now but we’ll see where it goes from here.
Great vid agree with you on if not sure about parts replace
Hey , nice video you have done.
Keep the paint, it looks to be in good nick
Lovely car! Just the one I’d have if I had the spaxe
Again, top job 👌🏻... Keep the vids the vids coming and cannot wait for you reach your millionth subscriber 😜👍🏻
jan mallia azzopardi that’s very kind! Thank you so much for the support! 💛
This Defender will last for ever, if your done with it 👍
27:05 Btw are those the Bosch "PD-Pumpe-Duse" - "Unit Injectors"?
If you were going to take off the head again how would you line it up TDC and secure the timing chain differently if you don’t have the pin. Taking the head off scares😬. I loved watching what you are doing
What kit did you use for the exhaust manifold bolts.... where can one purchase one??
Just a thought have you considered building some spec lift type spoons for fork lift . I’ve seen them in action ideal for one person vehicle moment and very handy for any stubborn ones
Great content! Rebuilding a 95 RRC. What app are you using for all the torque numbers? Cheers and thanks.
Its the details of the build in the video that makes this unmissable
Hope you got it cheap looks like it could get expensive but will make great viewing
Excellent work, great job with the filming as well, detailed when it needs to be and speeded up when repeating the same processes. 😎👍🏼
Really enjoying the videos, so therapeutic watching you rebuild the head, is this yours to sell on or a customers keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻
rowzers keep an eye on this series, all will become clear at the end 🙏🏻🔥
Juice Motors now I’m excited 😆
Hi great video I also had a blown head gasket on my td5 90 been lockdown in africa.quick question is it possible to use loctite shellack on the head gasket and cam carrier thanks great work
How long ago was it's last mot for the rear cross member to be that bad.
You must have massive balls. Mad respect for buying a car with a disassembled engine.
Hi pal great video yet again like always love watching them I've got a td5 engine for sale
US eBay listing: 1991 Defender just imported from the south of France. Needs some TLC. Nice solid truck with minimal rust.$17,500😉
Rover Ron 😂
Link to the machine shop?

just curious do you have a 110 flat roof and sides for a 110 i am busy doing ,ive got a double cab tub for sale need to buy a 110 county tub let me know

jag coupe, not sure what.
Lotus Elan
Riley 1.5 not sure.

Racing Mini with oil cooler.
MGF
Austin A40
Rover sterling?
Another Jag
that paint-on gasket sealer seems inefficient in terms of effort. Permatex makes a spray-on product that works great. dunno if it's distributed in europe
Im looking at a defender and is 80000miles good for a 2009 defender because i dont know and what would you class as a low mileage defender
Anything below 200 000 km is reliable to a certain extent, rather get a 2001 td5 since they have the most reliable engine. If you're in the city you might wanna get a puma for speed or accelerating. But overall a TDI is the best for 4x4
Joshua Mitchell thank you so much i had no idea ill be on the lookout for a 2001 td5 then
Next time, please use Permatex cooper spray (101MA 80697) .
For the new workshop, place a winch at the end of it ;-)
Jeremy MAGNE agreed! Will certainly make dead cars a breeze!
Nice job dude, oil pump bolt?! Any history on it ?
I wish I could do that much work myself in my defender... Or someone taught me how to 😢
two or three pallets stacked on the forks work well as a pusher, MUCH better than the forks.
Subscribe from South Korea. Always enjoying your contents mate. Have a lovely weekend:)
shops ? do they sell bread and milk?
Does anyone know what torque wrench he is using
Sykes Pickavant
what do you do with these builds once you are finished with them? do you sell them on or are they already commissioned?
i observed that you work on and have a number of Defenders. do you like that model or is it just numerous in England?
Great vid again mate. Screenshotted a couple of things for my engine rebuild. Where was the machine shop? Nearby?
It’s over in uckfield, Southern Rebore is the company name, always here to help 👍🏻
Juice Motors good man thanks 👍🏻 can’t wait for the next instalment
i want a land rover defender 90 black when im older
Have you done all this on lockdown?
I like the idea of using that gasket compound. My Tdci rebuild would benefit from that I think.. the block face is as rough as a badgers ass..
Next do the forklift😉
Great vid, if anyone can do it you can! Look forward to following this journey. ATB
The North-face Wanderer thank you for your support!! 💛
Hi mate, what’s the pricing do you charge for these restorations/modifications? I have an Defender 2015 :)
got brilliant tires on it for a none runner.
Simon Evans it certainly does!
Hi how can I reach you
Is this a full time gig or you farm aswell
This is my full time business, I just happen to be on a farm! I couldn’t drive a tractor to save my life! A Defender is agricultural enough for me! 😂
Juice Motors cool would think much nicer than a shop in the city
Rory Mundy agreed! Something about the countryside... seems fitting for these machines
Recently rebuilt a td5 also with a cracked head, both cams were also horrible and followers, both pitted badly, not my favorite engine haha
Someone’s seen goonzquad before haven’t they....🤦🏼♂️
Jack Jane Literally where I came to this video from🤣🤣🤣
04:55 British engineering at its finest!
it has severe neglected look at the rust
Go have a look round cck next door mate you can spend hours in there looking at the old race cars
Greg Conboy I was there for hours looking at all things past my generation! Seriously cool
You should out copper slip
what was wrong with pushing it its a landrover
Why can’t it roll in? Transfer in neutral and push it.
Cornwall's Answer it rolls fine, there’s just a steep incline into the shop, it looks deceiving but it takes roughly 5 men to push a defender into this shop
