seen family many times in and around london, and in my home own of dagenham at the roundhouse village club. always joyed up, got a battered tambourine one time bless roger and all members of family..
dgrichmondbc it was the BEST gig I've ever seen them do, and thats saying something. I wish I'd taken my 1971 Chappo tambourine (rescued from the Bristol Colston Hall gig that autumn) I had it in my car boot as well! I've never felt so much love from an audience - the Leicester boys and girls did Family proud - many I spoke to felt it should have been at the De Montfort Hall - Lets do that next year Family and fill the place - Double Diamond on draught in the bar once again!!!
Neil Griffin Thanks - now I REALLY wished I'd been there! I've never seen them as they never played Canada, at least as far as I can remember. So great and so underrated and so glad a buddy of mine turned me onto them around 1971.
Why don’t you have❤ a photo taken outside 40 Lots Rd. I still live there. Tony “Plum” Gourvish who I played football with for years had fond memories of it & was upset when it was renovated. Unfortunately Tony died last year & no one from his music & football history attended the funeral
What kind of fucking interview is that??? One fucker talking and the geniouses sitting there and thinking: what is this fucking chicken gagging about......Should we have the bugger for dinner! Don't mess With what is Perfect and don't fucking try to squezze a penny out of what is priceless! When I was living in London I was cheeky enough to fake my way into Meeting Roger Cahapman (My biggest idol and my favourite singer) and he turned out to be this wonderful likeable person, With a fantastic sense of humour, when I told him I was a fake! There will never be another Group that will move me as much as Family did, in my youth in Iceland, when hardly anybody knew about them. Well...up to this day, some 40-50 years later I play them every day...and my children and grandchildren love them....My youngest grandson starts headbanging when he hears them. God bless and thanks for countless of good times.
Great band, great musicians all, some of the most important albums in Rock, ... just age has not been kind. Sorry, chaps. Change your diet, lay off the drink, jog now and then.
That's *outrageous* Rog... John is NOT "well into his seventies"... He's younger than you...you were always the oldest! He's 68; one year older than me; or, to quote himself, '2 years during the 3mnths between his b/day & mine'! ;)
Fabulous drummer Rob Townsend....👍
I brought the book. Family changed my life in music. I play a song every day. from Dolls House to street walkers and every thing in between.
One of the greatest bands ever, and the most underrated band of all time.
These guys have worked so hard, given their all 🌞

Family in Leicester tonight - should bring a big smile to my face! My fave band of all time.
I would have killed to have been there. Would love to hear more about it if you have a few moments. Cheers!

👍👍👍👍👍👍
My Local Citys best. Great band Chappo a one off.
Rob seems in good fettle. What were the health problems that prevented him being involved in the reunion (apart from the first gigs)?
Rolling and Tumbling.... like to hear a brass section version trombone etc with those weird chords and off beat ...)
any new gigs how much is the set
I don't even recognise Roger here
13 floor elevators cup on the table given my bad eyes even

Does the interviewer breathe through his ears??. . . . . . . he barely stops to draw breath.
Gills 🤔😳🐟🐟🐟🐟🐠🐠

White balance....
The interviewer talks too much!
What an awful interview!
This band 'Family' seeded the roots of prog rock. Electric violin (Jobson), sax, vibraphone et al.
