Some of todays so called groups should be made to listen to this. From a bygone time when bands could play instruments!(quite a few were classically or jazz trained)
Leicester lad.... we all went to see "our" band when they toured, they always played at Leicester's DeMontfort Hall.... they were a great live band. They were often seen on terraces at Filbert Street.
Family are a fabulous group..completely unique, Chapman and Whitney loved the blues, but they managed to subvert it and bring to the party jazz, pop, psych rock and a crazy eccentricity that stood them apart from other contemporaries.
I think it translates as, any of you lot know enough German to compare a pop music show. Bonney says, I'll give it a crack, how hard can it be? Himmel!
his voice was always an acquired taste- me,i loved it
That voice is completely unique.
Oh the memories. Surely one of the best vocalists ever?
Chapman's voice was so unique, brilliant and lovely. The band was always amazing, no matter which formation...
Always loved Rogers unique excellent voice
Bleating like a goat!
So many years later and family and Rogers are still amazing love the band and great memories too thank you 🎉

That drummer is really giving his all....
My absolute favourite band...right up there with the best!
I bought this record in 1971 when I was 17.
Family looking good on German tv...
Chappo Poli Whitney + Wetton too ...nice...love it

Takes me back to 1971 on a camping holiday with a couple of work mates and having my 18th birthday in Weymouth HAPPY DAYS
First saw them at Cella Club in South Shields, then I went out and got a Great album music in a doll's House.
Great album.
I bought it 10 years ago. Still listening.
I looked at the link and thought when was that.I was out by two years.
Great to see them
Love this band!
Magic
Haven't heard this song in yonks.
Saw them a couple of times in Harrogate
Chappo, Plant, Rodgers - British vocalists are the best !
Oh yeah.....Bang on mate...
Cocker & Marriott weren’t too shabby either!
Very true - good call !@@stwads
Still is!
Loved them live. Beware of flying tambourines.
Pride of Leicester
the eletric goat
Bleating like a goat.
He sounds like a lost goat calling out for help 🥺
My German is quite good but I'm struggling with "der beste Eengleesh heavy-band". Can anyone assist?
It translates to ill never forgive you for beatimg us.twice in war once in world Cup
Motorhead had arrived on the scene back then. Imagine the audience reaction if that had happened!!!!!!!!!!
I think it translates as, any of you lot know enough German to compare a pop music show. Bonney says, I'll give it a crack, how hard can it be? Himmel!
@@petejones879 You should take into consideration that the show's host is certainly not German.
He lives the love of someone who died. Lost but never forgot
Justamente hoy escuchaba el Músic in a doll's house otra joya de está banda.subvalorada
Chappo - peerless
1970 was the beginning and the end
Excellent voice, he's lost it now, a shame.
He is 81
John Wetton on bass there
ヘビーバンドと呼ばれていますが、ファミリーは静かな曲も良いですよね。これはストリートウォーカーズにも言えることですが。
Who is the drummer in this performance ; doesn't look like Rob ?
He can't even be bothered to mime properly.
What does Roger shout at the begining ? Is it something in German ?
"Pauli ate ice cream slowly. That's because he had sensitive teeth. He ate a lot of sweets as a child."
What does he shout out at the beginning?
vocal live with backing track?
Seems that way, though the vibes seem more to the fore too.
No !
Yep, considering he said something on the mic after the first fanfare. If it was totally mimed he would have had a dead mic.
@@garyrasberryjr.552 it was kinda obvius i dont know why i asked this
too bad the group is miming to the studio recording, only Chappo is really 'live' - this is the equiv to TOTP
No drugs.
Who's on drums?
I don't think it's Rob - nice try with the dark glasses though! he must have been unavailable and they got a stand-in for this shoot.
Townsend was absent form a "Beat-Club" taping two weeks earlier. I think he'd been bitten by a dog, or so Uschi Nerke explained on "Beat-Club."
Rob Townsend
Sounds as if I am wrong - sorry!
I prefer the Charles Aznevoir cover version.
tour de force from the lyrical Chapman ….
I wonder who the winsome girl with guitar is who's waiting to follow that!
looks at Chapman and Co. with eyes full of admiration ))) damn cute. plus, a guitar player
Olivia Molina
No Drugs....😂
Is that one of the roadies on drums .....rubbish mimer ....definitely not Rob Townshend.....
One of rocks truly great voices. Up there with Joe Cocker.
Ummmmm looks like a TOTP mime event.
No, that's not mimed. Just listen to the album track and compare.
Roger Chapman was a very distinctive singer, but he did sometimes make noises like an electrocuted goat.
that had to be mortifying - playing on a crap show like this - miming .... at least nobody got up to dance
The vibrato gets old quickly.
