    When you go back to install the dual fuel please put a different disconnect on. That is absolutely horrible. Especially when it was just the breaker. I just can’t let stuff like that slide on my conscience. I’m a little OCD tho too 😂 Love you Mike ❤️

      @PipeDoctor I agree. That new disconnect looked like caca in that space. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original disconnect. You could have saved yourself the work and from making it look like dog doodie by just swapping out the breaker.
      Have you ever thought about hiring a semi retired guy as a helper who could run around to the supply houses for you to pick up things like breakers, filters or other material to help support the crews you have on service calls? You could also use them as an extra body when needed when you are doing full replacements.
      You could pay this person less than a full blown tech but having them support your 3 or 4 crews each day would help make those crews more productive.
      Just a thought.

      He said he did not have the breaker on the truck so to get them cooling git was cheaper to replace the disconnect VS having to drive to buy breaker and drive back and install it. His time cost more than the parts. I keep breakers on the truck but I've had to do exactly what he did and replace the disconnect before as well.

  • @chuckq54

    Good idea to keep some white PVC board on the truck that can be cut to size in this case as a backer board for the disconnect 👍

    Pipe Doctor POV: create a problem by replacing a perfectly function disconnect box with an undersized one and they criticize the homeowner not to be cheap and spend extra money when doing siding.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 12 дней назад

      really, the siding company either ripped them off or they were too cheap to have siding blocks/pads placed, which generally requires a licensed electrician to disconnect and reconnect everything, including the meter and meter box, which now may involve utility company doing a disconnect and reconnect(depending on the local code and utility company).
      that could mean hours to days without power, a/c and whatever else is outside. technically if there phone/cable/fiber services, they should all be called to move their own equipment too, yeah rarely ever happens and the siding guys just butcher and hack job around everything.
