I love when you say that their approach is refreshing, and it's music from over 25 years ago. My issue with most popular music now is that it's anything but refreshing. They just narrow every song down to a hook or two and a bit of fluff around it. Some might say it's been distilled down its essence, but I'd say it's been juiced: run through a press and robbed of all the fiber and substance, leaving you with over sugary, yet somehow bland waste. Like you said, every song is so different, and not just hinging on one hook.
Also, your first pronunciation of Lucretia was right. And it is also one of my favorites by Megadeth, so good! \m/

That's because a majority of recent pop hits were written by THE SAME 2 GUYS.
But that's just the popular music industry's modus operandi: if 1 song like this is super popular, 500 would be even better! And, of course, Autotune is all over them... Who needs talent? or the ability to play your instrument or sing? We'll just fix it in post-production! All they care about is "The look" they can train them to dance, use studio musicians, overdub, etc.

I consider this album the best metal album of all time and one of the greatest albums ever written. The song structures are so intricate, no verse chorus verse shit. They mix multiple riffs, rhythms, and change up each song while keeping it all together and flowing. I’ve been listening to this album since the day it came out and it still never gets old. Absolute perfection. It’s a lesion in how music should sound. It will never be topped. Looking forward to reading Mustaine’s book on the album coming out in September.

Its honestly refreshing seeing somebody’s first reaction to Rust in Peace. Now I realize how truly innovative Megadeth are. Ive been a huge fan of theirs for a while but for some reason RIP never stuck with me. I never liked “Poison Was the Cure” and “Take no Prisoners” and thought the album was incomplete because of those songs.
However, seeing your reactions to this album for the first time not only made me really like both of those songs but made me love this entire album as a whole by seeing your joy at hearing it for the first time.
Also I love how there’s finally someone that appreciates Mustaine’s vocals. Ive always thought his voice fit perfect for Megadeth. People say Dave sucks but literally no vocalist can do Megadeth better than he can. Even then I think his vocals today sound incredible in the most recent albums.

Dave being spurned fueled his creative rage. He channeled it into his albums. It shows. Metallica had nothing left to bitch about after Master of Puppets became a thing. The energy wasn't there anymore. I love everything Metallica touches, and i like em more, but Megadeth and Dave has a pure unadulterated anger behind it that just makes it better. I may listen to Metallica more often and more lyrics memorized, but when Megadeth comes on, it's an experience.

Alex, every time you upload a new video another wave of excitement becomes set to permeate the atoms in my body. There's nothing I love more than seeing newcomers introduced to the greatest that entertainment has to offer; from TV shows to films, and of course music. I was first exposed to metal in high school 12 years ago when Apocalyptica performed in my home country of Lebanon, and this was followed by a binge of Pantera and Metallica albums which permanently sealed my entry into the realms of metal and rock for all eternity. Metal saved my life and made me the person I am today so watching you revel in the nourishing auditory goodness precipitated by metal and rock really speaks to me on a personal level. Moreover, your unwavering energy and upbeat personality totally generate this aura that just draws in fans by the motherload and I'm really glad to be one of them. Cheers from Mesa, Arizona, Alex!

I really don't know where I'd be without music bro. At the Papa Roach show I attended at the Mesa Amphitheater all 5,000 fans were buoyantly jumping in unison during one of the songs and at that moment all of my grievances with this piece-of-shit world were alleviated, at least for the time being, because it was at that moment I felt everyone from different walks of life were united. Metal and rock truly are a godsend and it's great seeing similar sentiments being broadcast globally.

Oh yeah! If you’re gonna do a whole heavy metal album, this IS THE ONE! And I’m not even a Megadeth fan. Rust In Peace is like Macchu Pichu or the Egyptian pyramids: you look at it and go “was this made by aliens?” 👽 The cover, therefore, is very appropriate. Now, unfortunately, I think everything else that Megadeth did besides this record was a long list of hits and misses.
