@@renzsadiwa just curious, has your battery health gone down any. I’ve had mine about 8 months and it’s down to 95%. I have done some hefty video editing on it, but I was surprised to see the drop already.

Great video. I believe the Mac Mini speaker is an accessibility feature. The Mini is just the computer, no camera, no keyboard, mouse or real speakers. Glad to hear the base model is fine for average consumer use.

RAM upgrade > Storage upgrade (for longevity)
Hi Renz and everyone here! I need some advice.
I am picking up the 8/256 M2 Mac Mini (the very base model, due to tight budget) for workflow like: multiple chrome tabs + background apps (Spotify, Notion, etc.), and will do 1080p video editing of screen recording with occasional motion titles, with the free version of DaVinci Resolve. Will probably keep the tabs to the minimum during editing, and close all other apps during exporting.
Do you guys thing this very base model will do me good?
I recommend if you can to spend extra on the unified memory to at least 16gb just in case. 256gb is adequate you can also use external drives to save a bit on memory.
I just picked up the Mac mini M2 pro base model. It’s good for editing. Handled 4K footage with ease.

@@renzsadiwa it’s nice! I’m going to return it after I’m done with this project because I only have the base. 16gb with 512ssd. The M2 pro chip is nice but I wanted 32gb. I had to wait until March. Don’t have that time when a project is do. But in my 15 yrs of editing experience I’m surprised at this machine. Mac Mini Pro base is good enough for both the amateur and experienced. But I still would bump up the Gpu in any machine. Good video man!
Would you recommend going for 32gb ram or upgrading to the higher config m2 pro chip with more GPU cores? Doing LR / Photoshop and 4k davinci edits... Thanks for your insight!

If I use multiple layers in video editing, animations, effects, and browse web with keeping 5-10 tabs opened then which configuration of mac mini will be good enough for the next few years? Kindly suggest. You can also do a comparison between mac m1 mini and m2 mini
I highly recommend spending a bit extra on ram on the base models. You can get away with editing on an external drive like a Samsung T7 or Sandisk Extreme.If you want to future proof and want this machine to last for years you can't go wrong with the M2 Pro.
