This is a film about struggling with alcoholism and it’s incredible that they manage to not even mention alcohol in this trailer
But the whole movie is not JUST simply about alcoholism. So no.. The trailer wouldn't include two alcoholics figuring out life and getting sober lol because thats not it

This movie was entirely different from what I expected. It was far darker and the message concerning alcoholism was very well done. I could not have predicted the outcome of this movie considering how it began. That's rare for me.
And it was honestly a good movie. I really enjoyed it.

I would be more concerned with the magical and invisible force that uses a person's depression to promote destruction in a territory on the other side of the world.

Tuwana High It supposedly came out Friday, but it isn't playing anywhere. The main studios don't pick up fun, middle of the road movies anymore. The lack of a wide release certainly won't help sales.

Its not really a fun film. Its a really good film but the trailer is totally misleading which I think it is on purpose but it mind fucks you hard and is kinda hard to watch at certain parts

I've seen the movie and it was great!! I just love the twist they made at climax of the story and of the course the end. I just dont like how it ends. I dont know for you guys after you've seen the movie but yeah it just left me hanging and wait for a part 2 ? 👍🏻👍🏻 ill rate it 9/10 (because of the ending)
A monster movie where Anne Hathaway is controlling the monster... that's a different angle on the monster movie format that I'm aware of. I guess they didn't want to just flat out make Anne the monster, so they have the monster be her emotions and all that Jazz. At least that's what I'm getting from the trailers, so I'm not quite sure how to feel about this.

After watching this film, I must say that this trailer was very misleading.
Yes, ALL trailers are misleading, but it was a huge mistake trying to market this movie as a syfy comedy, because it is NOT! it is a drama with syfy elements, but mostly it deals with self-destruction and bad relationships. Characters change their entire persona in one scene, and you keep asking yourself: where is the plot??

Agree. Just watched this movie, and i had to look for the trailer, cause no idea how you market this. The tone is all over the place, i wasnt sure if i was supposed to cheer or laugh or be scared.
@@FernandoGastelo Exactly! I never knew what I should be rooting for. I know the story itself is implausible, but there were times when I was shouting, "just go home" or "shot him". Like if she really felt bad or wanted to stop him, it would be easy to do so.

In last decade only 3 movies remain memorable to me - Everything Everywhere All at once, Spiderman Across the spiderverse and Colossal. I loved this movie's originality and simplicity. I hope more original movies like this come out of hollywood

If i found out i was controlling a monster; i would first lead it away from innocent civilians; go to where Isis is hiding and crush them; then i do the victory dance. I know it is a little demented but i hope this character at least leads the monster out of the city.

Pardon Me if you crush the banks all money would lose value. The world would devolve into a Mad Max like dwelling. No jobs no friends no places to just kick it and relax. Everyone would be at each others throats trying to kill over something as simple as a can of food. The people who don't know how to grow food would die first. Then those who don't know how to fight. Then those who rely on others to do the fighting. Then there are the nukes. Crushing a nuke could set it off depending on the type. So by doing that you'll be setting a large portion of the world on fire. The amount of ash would make it impossible to drink water and grow food. Those who hunt and grow their own food would die. The extinction of the human race would have finally succeeded in killing off all humans. Once that happens everything we built would shut down without our guidance. The world would blow up again because of nuclear factories and such. The animals would also die as the level of radiation from all the explosions would definitely kill them. The planet would go from how it is now to one that's as hot as Mercury. All because of your actions.

It's really two films, fighting to be two different films. What the trailer does NOT show, is the other HALF of the movie which takes a dark depressing turn into domestic violence, abusive relationships, alcoholism and addiction. I wish it was a romantic comedy instead, but it is not. Although, a unique challenging film about a woman rising above her terrible reality who becomes her own hero.

After my 2nd Viewing of Colossal... the build-up to the climactic cines where still Entertaining to watch : ), like Firework cine. I notice this time around that, They did try to make it comical when Oscar is digging for the firework... Hopefully, it does well enough in the Box office to make a sequel! It would be could to see a low flying water cine with trees on the horizon; where, out of the corner of your eye... Oscar comes whipping threw--- Skipping across the water a few times--- Before, washing up on shore... xD
(and also, to keep to the alcoholic theme: which, probably could of been pledge'd from an AA handbook.: / Spoiler Nitpicks: It would of be more of a comedy if... 1) the cine: When they are trying to leave the living room, to race to the playground, seem to much of like a Brawl--- and wasn't her just tripping him up & trying to beat him with Any & everything she could get her hands on as he's trying to leave... 2) Oscar anger wasn't really explained & needed something; other then, using alcoholism as an Escape Goat, in the story line and more believable... 3) 2 of the cines in the ending, with people running away, would of been better use in the introduction & wouldn't really of had people in the "would be", evacuated zone?!? and kind of Flashed through good clips of what the both Colossus looked like... in they're intros. it was still worth watch it again... : ) 7/10 + 1 for watching anne, kick'n ass... and the epic ending.

The trailer makes this movie look and sound a lot funnier than it is. This is the story of two alcoholics who were once childhood friends. It goes to some dark, and decidedly unfunny, and rather uncomfortable places. Not that this is a bad movie - just not a particularly "funny" movie. This is a drama - and the trailer is very misleading

This was actually a really good movie!
I feel sooooooo frigging cheated by this movie. Do not go see this movie if you are expecting a quirky action comedy with anne hathaway somehow controlling a kaiju monster, as instead I got a drama/thriller about the dangers of alcoholism and domestic violence and crap (No, I'm really not kidding about that either. It's literally about alcoholism). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it has merits AS a drama/thriller, but it should be presented as such. I did not get what I paid for, and that's a shitty thing for the advertisers to do.
