Great breakdown, I like the Flame Ward tech too. For FC it might be worth taking the crit chance -> freeze multi for more ward per cast since it applies to indirect casts too
True, given how much crit we have, it should be a good chunk! I should test how much exactly :D I still think it's funny we landed with almost the exact same build while approaching it from 2 different sides Respect to @chunkypapa as well for showcasing super early on in the season how much single target dmg Static Orb can be!
Hello. Thank you for the great build! I used it to create my own alternate version with "Dragorath's Claw" as a main weapon. After you invest in "Lighting Aegis" on the skill tree - it is activated whole the time, giving you great defense + dmg boost constantly. Additionally "Final Spark" skill detonation perfectly speed up the cleaning regular mobs during farming.
@@TheCurseBG yea :) unfortunately after some tests I see the Lighting Aegis bonus is not as well as described, so finally I switched back to Wrongwarp. But I have something... "Static" is much better in DPS/mana cost than "Static Orb". In that config: Surge + Kickstart + Overcharge. You can hold both skill buttons for Frost Claw and Static - it will cast both, very good for bosses and really mana efficient. Maybe I will switch/test to Static Orb if I have 1400-1500 mana, but now for my current ~1000 mana this skill is unefficient, but the "Static" is working great (it has also awesome ward generation).
Your build gave me my first Aberroth kill and thank you very much for sharing this build :) While I am still building it (can't find a T7 helmet, my gloves are a bit generic, wand has only mana to ward+mana, etc), I dropped a quite decent rolled Nihilis. I put Nihilis to an egg, gave me 1LP and slam! managed to add a T7 mana, so I use your "cheaper" with Nihilis.
Try this one but make sure to review it! I filter out many items when I'm leveling and that might not be what you want :) drive.google.com/file/d/11KJTqLJR73Udwz4sVePUgDaUV9F1RWyo/view?usp=drive_link
Thanks a lot for the guide, Curse! Between you and Frozen I'm learning a lot for my Sorc. Could you please offer advice for my recent upgrade.. I managed to drop an Arcane Visage with perfect implicits and almost perfect affix rolls - T7 static orb, T5 mana spent gained as ward (could not seal and get int), T5 armour % and T5 armour + reduced damage from crits. Do you think it's still worth slamming into a 1LP gaze? (have not got 2LP yet). The extra armour, mana and ward from this Visage seems more valuable than gaze when I have base crit from rings + crystal skull.
omg that is a nice one :D It depends how much you value the defense vs offense. I think T7 SO + T5 hybrid armor is quite nice so I could see myself waiting for a 2LP. I would look for a trashy T7 SO for a 1LP slam. 2LP gaze is not an easy farm though so keep that in mind as well!
Cool thanks yeah I'm thinking the same regarding 1LP. I'm not even sure if I'd use it on a 2LP. Depends if I'll need the defenses when pushing higher. I'm still on fairly budget gear so I was stoked to find this!
I havent leveled any sorc this patch yet but i wanted to try a meme-y meteor build myself too while using the Vilatria 2-piece set and meteor belt while stacking max mana and int as usual, you take all the huge increased mana cost nodes and you proc it off mana strike for the easy guaranteed crit chance and mana you get back but that's just theorycrafting lol
i just put something together in the planner for fun because i want to start playing it and so far the LET's calculator is around 7.9M dps which seems pretty good
@@TheCurseBG i was able to reach about 32M sheet dps on LET but i havent been able to put most of it together myself yet bc i couldnt play much, still trying to figure out how to play it too like which skills to use and if i hardcast meteor or actually proc them, i dont think i can put the build planner link in here though it would probably get deleted lol
Do you remember your old idea to use a unique mace with 350-400 armor shred + t7 armor shred and all other frostbite setup? It's a good option for a next sorc build
I noticed having a wand any higher than -3 to spell cost brings frost claw mana cost below 40. Does this mean a -4 or -5 cost wrongwarp is useless because it will disable lost knowledge and spark charges for frost claw casts?
You need simply to adjust the frost clow skill tree. If you notice on the right side there is a node that gives you -2 mana cost. So you can remove it and the other node on the right to gain again a 40 mama cost frost clow . Then invest that points on the left side for more crit chance ecc..
@@TheCurseBG one question. I have a lot of wrongwarp. But if i want to use one with -4 mana and a scale of eterra for the boss fight how can i do? . If i want to avoid the -2 mana node frost claw still a ice skill right?
P.S. the way i farm LA is as follows: 1.) farm uniques or exalts but not the same in one run. Too much loot to sort. For unique farming at LA I do this; Get one chest of glyphs and runes Then select the duplicate chest and triplicate chest mods Also select 2-3 unique in every chest mods And 4-6 duplicate all uniques mods You’ll end up with 6 chests full of runes and glyphs you can just auto pickup and auto sort. Then you have 12-24 different uniques and 4-6 copies of each one. Rinse and repeat til you get your gear. For farming exalts I select one chest of exalted help, chest, gloves, boots mod Then I select a add a catalyst to each chest mod Then a duplicate and triplicate that one chest And all my other mods will be add 20 or add 50% chance to duplicate all items on chest. I end up with all the exalts I need to slam and equip. Boom
Had insane luck with a Scales of Eterra today.. Cold/Fire, 6% flat crit chance, 13 intelligence implicit. Without LP. Then got an LP with a Nemesis, and hit almost max rolled T7 mana on it 😄 Thanks for the guide, love your explanations, though I was already building Frozen Sentinel's version.
"Cheaper Aspirational Build"???! Are you fucking for real? CHEAPER??! - 2LP Blood of the Exile is the cheapest, starts at 500 Mil on MG. - 2LP Unstable Core with shittiest rolls starts at 1.5 Bil. gold on MG. - 3LP Wrongwarp. 3LP Phantom Grasp, 2 LP Testament are literally SO RARE, that they aren't even traded on MG. May be high-end CoF has better chances at acquiring such items, but it's still gonna take literal months and I don't see how it differs from "giga_end-game" build in that sense. I know that this build is good (and that it's the only viable build on Sorc right now), but why not just import your current gear and show it in the guide?!
I couldn't agree more. So tired of these "build guides" showing just massive, mostly unobtainable gear for the average player. Most people don't care about the 'mega end game" builds, sure, some do, but I can assure you the vast majority of players wont play that long. No issue in showing the gear for that build, but come on, show people what they need as they level/gear up, since this is where a VAST majority of players are at, not only that, but those are the type of players actually looking up build guides. If I had the time to ever get close to the end game version, I likely wouldn't need a build guide.
You are totally right.I have over 2k hours spent in season 1 and 2 combined and everyday i see people starting this build and quitting it after a few days because they are frustrated of how nearly impossible it is to get those items...this build is the most hardest to run the build more or less out of all of them. I just skip this season on this mage even if i am probably able to get pretty close to this :)
It’s the Meta build of 1.1 so MG items will be very difficult to find. I had a lvl 84 mage and was able to obtain all these items in one week by sorta taking advantage of the Uber inflated market. Here’s how. I have 1200 hours in and I’ve always found it impossible to get the meta items but I was able to land a few of these uniques thru lightless arbor since gold was plentiful. I also farmed multiple duplicate exalted helmets catalysts and relics thru Lightless Arbor and managed to successfully slam a few pieces since I had duplicate exalted (as many as 5 duped +3 static orb helms for example) I barely used the MG but I did have plenty of favor and gold when I needed to. In 1.0 and prior I maxed out CoF and never played MG. In 1.1 I played MG specifically so I could make tons of gold to run Lightless Arbors. Took me a week but I got most of the build and I’m nearly one shoting T4 Julra. The key for me was robbing the market and running Lightless Arbir for an entire week to land multiple dupes of all the gear I needed to hit my slams since rng just doesn’t work with regular farming. Don’t do CoF, imo, cuz I ran 800 hours on CoF and 400 on MG and it was way better in MG. I had plenty of gold to buy stash tabs for one and with CoF if I want to hoard gear for all my classes and alts I run outta gold for stash tabs. It’s terrible. MG much better. I won’t bother trying to run the reset cycle I’ll just blast along in Legacy with my stashed filled to the brim with gear farmed thru LA. Thank you busted economy! Side benefit is Mountain Gear for days
Also your complaint about not having leveling guide for this build is misplaced. This is a strictly end game build and Curse doesn’t really make leveling guides that I’m aware of. He makes absolute distrusting builds tho, props to Curse. I leveled using maxroll glacier level guide. Notice I said I had a lvl 84 mage cuz you can’t start out with this kinda meta build silly. Plus his version of cheap aspirational is still aspirational, a term that generally means it’s for 1%ers. So to speak. Anyway I did it. I’m a week. Having already leveled 3 other classes this 1.1 season. New mage in a week, I managed it, it can be done. And the only other build I was able to easily clear 400+ corruption monos was Curse DoT Earthquake Primalist. Again, props to Curse, his builds are always tanks and smooth as butter if you can hit even one or two slams
