Nitpick: the time taken to re-earn the skill point(s) that you lose when you respecc a skill, is a function of your current level. The lower your level, the longer it takes to re-earn each point. Example: very early game, around level 20 say, it'll take hours to re-earn a skill point; while at level 100 it takes seconds.
@@dylanstanfill2897 I meant to re-level an unspeced skill sorry. I measured it. At level 30, I had Fireball at level 10. I wanted to try Lightning Bolt so I respeced. It took 1.5 hours to get LB to level 10, then I decided to spec back to FB and it took just under 1.5 hours to get back to level 10 again. So 3 hour turnaround just to experiment with one skill over another. Terrible. Early game is where the player wants to experiment most with skills.
@@ghostlightx9005 Early game is really easy, the campaign is not difficult at all, especially after your first playthrough and you've gotten some leveling uniques. Plus you unlock mastery slots as you go through that which gives you that room to experiment with different skills. Just because it took you that long doesn't mean it takes that long. I've cleared the campaign in 4 hours before. My first playthrough only took me like 8, and that's slow compared to a lot of people. Once you get to monoliths, there are methods to make respeccing into a new skill you've never used much faster as well. So any experimentation you didn't get to in the campaign can be expedited here. As you level up, the minimum skill level goes up, and this makes it super easy to experiment more because you'll be able to put 10/20 points into that skill immediately to really give you a good feel for if you're going to like it or not. If you find a skill you like, but you're not sure it will give you more dps, you can then take it into monos where you'll be able to level it up to 20 much faster than in campaign and make sure to take all the XP tome nodes you see, because they not only give your character XP, but they also give a huge boost to your skill XP. So I'd argue that it's relatively easy to experiment at any point in the game without much time investment if you are taking advantage of the systems offered to you. I concede that most people won't know the optimal way to do it when they first start the game, but that's not the games fault. I'm confident the majority of players have never even looked at the game guide that is built into the game. @CarySmith87 What acolyte mastery? I'm running a warlock. I recommend checking out a build guide for your mastery on either maxroll or icyveins. Both sites go over all aspects of how to spec and gear to look for. I find it very helpful, then after I understand more of what I'm doing plan to tweak the build to experiment. I am much lower lvl than you but so far their build I'm using seems very powerful and fun.
@beckyp867 I went with the necromancer. I've tried maxroll etc but those guides all seem to be geared to level 100 players. I don't have that many points. Only 71 to spend.
Once you figure it out it’s super fun! Check out some builds for Acolyte and hang In there. Getting the right affixes on your gear is super important to be able to doing damage
Another huge thing about crafting is to shatter weapons you won't be using or have no use for anymore. You're gonna wish you had some of those shards later on
It amazes me how so many RUclipsrs don't know how to simply explain crafting lol. They always over complicate. This guy doesn't seem to know that each mono has 12 possible blessings.
@@CreativeGamingRUclips No worries dude! Great video regardless. Been playing this game since 2020 and totally agree with all your points. Just had to throw a warning in there for other headphone users since my ears were dying. 🤣
Dude, your stash looks so neat. Could you do a short vid or a description link on how you organize it? I would sit down and try to maximize the most ideal set up but it would be great if we could share just one setup throughout the community as a "starting point" or the ideal setup.
Be careful when it comes to resists. It really depends on the build you're running. For example, my Rogue doesn't need to have physical as high as the others, as I have over 100% crit avoidance and 70% dodge chance, so it's more important for me to max the others first. Just food for thought.
I disagree with #2. Since completing the story only gets you about 70 levels (if you don't rush, so possibly even less), so doing all the timelines is a nice few levels. Still won't get you to a 100 before you reach empowered tho
When you say "Craft early" how early are we talking? I just finished the campaign and started monoliths. I feel like crafting is just a waste because I replace each piece of gear so fast I feel like I'm just wasting good shards.
Remember you can shatter gears or remove affixes (requires potential) using runes when you found a replacement. So you don’t really waste them completely because you can recycle old gears. On my first play-through I started crafting at around level 25.
Craft early as soon as possible through the campaign. Just get in the habit of doing it coz affix shards are not that hard to come by even early on. And you'll just get faster at doing it to the point is not really as waste of time. Just capping out your Phys Res or adding DMG to a good base you find along the way helps clearing content faster without randomly getting destroyed.
Don t wanna be that kind of guy but u never name the mistakes in the video, my man... I didn t click to get the mechanics explained, i cliked for mistakes
IDEA: the shoulder mounted camera could be for a mission. You call it down and after that you now have to kill bugs/bits and face stratagems going off. This would be recording promotional material to bolster morale in the citizens, essential giving "morale points" to a certain goal. But the catch is dying or facing another player dying loses "morale points" so you have to be perfect or turn around if someone is gonna die. Fun propaganda angle but also kinda a funny sounding mission type.
So I’ve been told and I read a loading tip that says enemies all gain resist penetration at a rate of 1% per level up to 75. So at level 75 all enemies penetrate 75% resistance, so you actually want to aim for 150% resistance or higher so you are actually at 75% resistance. So it would look like 75%(max)-75%(enemy level)=0% resistance But if you have 150%(75 effective max)-75%(enemy level)=75% resistance
its my understanding that penetrating resistance isnt the same as shredding, so your resistance is unchanged when enemies are penetrating it. if they were shredding your resistance by 75% then yes, they are lowering your resistance, but as it stands they penetrate your resistance, which is 75% at cap. if that were the case every player who pushes high corruption wouldnt be capping at 75 they would be doing what you're saying and pumping res way over cap.
@@darknight602 nah, he said you want to aim for 150% res but you want to just hit cap at 75%. penetration doesnt lower your resistance so gaining 150% res does nothing.
See, this is what I don't get. Everyone is suggesting I push to get to empowered monoliths right? So I get there at level 75 or 80 and the mobs are level 100. So I get xp super slowly, kill enemies super slowly, die a lot, etc. I wish there was a more efficient way to get to character level 100 so empowered monoliths are more reasonable in difficulty.
You have such a clean Northern/Midwestern accent - but why do you pronounce "affix" in the way you do - a-fix? Dictionary puts the accent on the A - for ah-fex.
@@CreativeGamingRUclips No problem at all, I am still learning English so it's fun to listen to various creators and learn! Good luck love your videos!
quite a nice timing for me. i was just about to start farming corruption in a monolith that an item i wanted drops in. but going to the end first is gonna be way faster to speed it up!
Do unique items have dedicated drops? Do unique items, like humming bee sword, have different level versions? Like I have level 6 humming bee sword can I fond 1 at level 50? And last question is when you runes to create a unique item from any kind of item, do ypu only get unique the same level you are or can it be anything? For example if I'm level 20 and do it can roll a unique level 70 or will only be level 20 or lower?
Are you able to clarify one thing about resistance because I've been having a hard time finding a solid answer. The cap is 75%, res shreds can take this down but can be negated by res over the cap. So what is the "perfect" percent of resistance accounting for shred? Some say 100% others say as high as 150%
#2 - I feel was missing the "what if you already did the bad thing you shouldn't do then do this." I yolo'ed and my blessings are wrong. I now have to Google what to do, lol. Or if I can swap them? No clue. Need to Google still.
Run the Monolith Boss again. Just like Affixes; the blessings have high and low rolls. Its encouraged to do several boss kills to not only get the blessing you want but to get a high roll for that blessing. The purple circle that is around the blessing you are using is indicative of how good the roll you got was. For instance the Increased Unique drop chance Blessing from the first empowered monolith can roll between 11-22%.
crafting early is a WASTE OF TIME 1. you don't have enough glyphs and runes to take out runes you want. ie rune of removal. so fkn rare and targets random affixes, so you have to use multiples 2. most items have such a low ass forge potential that that by the time u add or remove an affix you spent all that potential. and that's even using the 25% no resource scroll.
You're showing level 87 items on screen when telling us to craft early... What levels qualify as "craft early"? . Also, isn't it pronounced "AF-ix" not "a-FIX"? I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I'm asking so I don't mispronounce it lol.
While yes its technically a waste of time to go for corruption before level 100, a lot of people reach it without being able to clear level 100 100 corruption. I speak from experience. Level 82 and cant survive for shit 😂
6. choosing CoF over Merchants unless you want to GRIND for the items you want/need, I'd HIGHLY recommend the Merchants, just buy what you need, might take some time to farm up gold but it is guaranteed + no losing time rerolling prophecies (which then might force you into arena or dungeons...)

I'm really trying to love it as it's a breath of fresh air coming from this.... other popular arpg (lol) but I have a level 58 acolyte and I can't seem to do any damage lol I've spent about 100,000 gold re speccing and I'm on the verge of deleting the character and calling it a day.
Bro I am running around with warlock holding the spoon in my hand melting mono bosses. Tanky too.
Once you figure it out it’s super fun! Check out some builds for Acolyte and hang In there. Getting the right affixes on your gear is super important to be able to doing damage
Just take builds from maxroll webpage if you don't have any experience. You will learn to do them yourself by playing
These tips are very helpful. Loving how easy the crafting system is.
Another huge thing about crafting is to shatter weapons you won't be using or have no use for anymore. You're gonna wish you had some of those shards later on
The emphasis is on the short A (as in apple) in Affix, not the fix. A-fix not a-FIX.
It amazes me how so many RUclipsrs don't know how to simply explain crafting lol. They always over complicate. This guy doesn't seem to know that each mono has 12 possible blessings.
Great video! Started playing around a week ago and this video answer's a lot of questions, quick and to the point but detailed thank you!
Sometimes exalted items have more than 1 purple stat as well. It's not super common but I wouldn't say it's especially rare either.
Tip #2 is a good one. Even as a "good" ladder player I didnt skip the left side. Always more to learn eh
15:42 guys increase your Critical strike avoidance, I am getting my ass beated just because I have 0 in this defense lol
This! Haha
Or you could gain ward as much as you can.. it works miraculously. Thank me later.
The gold to respec isn't the issue, it's having to regrind spell levels for specialized spells. Punishes you for wanting to experiment.
HEADPHONE WARNING: Subscription prompt is EXTREMELY loud compared to the rest of the video.
Yeah my bad on that one. Missed the volume on that track!
@@CreativeGamingRUclips No worries dude! Great video regardless. Been playing this game since 2020 and totally agree with all your points. Just had to throw a warning in there for other headphone users since my ears were dying. 🤣
@@TheFirstArsynyc 😂
The main reason you choose the timelines to the right is the path is shorter so you get to empowered monoliths sooner.
And everyone that attacks as a melee most of the time should put leech on their gear etc. it helps alot
Agreed! Just started running that with my pally!
u actually can get skills past the chains from a locked mastery
by just putting enough points into it. the skills from the bottom.
I actually thought I’d see something new and helpful here.
I disagree with #2. Since completing the story only gets you about 70 levels (if you don't rush, so possibly even less), so doing all the timelines is a nice few levels. Still won't get you to a 100 before you reach empowered tho
I think crafting is super easy, but the monolith tip was really helpful since it's very poorly explained in game.
Craft right away...
haven't made any of them ever... though I haven't gotten a chance to play yet, still, haven't made them ..
good video, had to watch on mute with subtitles due to how you pronounce afix but good vid none the less
lol I feel that, a-ffix not uh-fix
0:08 that was some clever wordplay, "A-void" these mistakes. As you're fighting void like creatures, haha.
LOL
This was super informational, tyvm
Thank you!!
Fun propaganda angle but also kinda a funny sounding mission type.
wrong game buddy
@@iCanHasRandomness yeah my queue continued while i was writing the comment and posted it on this video, lmao
I was so confused..
So I’ve been told and I read a loading tip that says enemies all gain resist penetration at a rate of 1% per level up to 75.
So at level 75 all enemies penetrate 75% resistance, so you actually want to aim for 150% resistance or higher so you are actually at 75% resistance.
So it would look like
75%(max)-75%(enemy level)=0% resistance
But if you have 150%(75 effective max)-75%(enemy level)=75% resistance
its my understanding that penetrating resistance isnt the same as shredding, so your resistance is unchanged when enemies are penetrating it. if they were shredding your resistance by 75% then yes, they are lowering your resistance, but as it stands they penetrate your resistance, which is 75% at cap. if that were the case every player who pushes high corruption wouldnt be capping at 75 they would be doing what you're saying and pumping res way over cap.
@@officialdabaws5228mhm, that's how it works and what the dude said before you already, you just said the same thing LOL
@@darknight602 nah, he said you want to aim for 150% res but you want to just hit cap at 75%. penetration doesnt lower your resistance so gaining 150% res does nothing.
TLDR: just get 75% cap, dont aim for 150%.
loved the vid. the way you said affix hurt my soul though haha
Lol me too. I have been flamed so hard
you really ought to put the "pressure" on the a of affix, not the f sound.. youre turning the verb into a noun and it sounds really bad
Yeah, ah-fixed it in the newer vids!
Thanks alot didnt know about some runes and how they work.
Learned a thing gave a thumbs up.
Thanks for the explanations. Appreciate it.
My pleasure!
Excellent video. Liked and subscribed! Thanks for the solid work.
Much appreciated!
Whats better? Crit avoidance or crit damage reduction?
Crit avoidance. If Crit avoidance is at 100% means you avoid all crit so by default you don’t need any crit DR.
Exalted items can have any number of affixes
Some people have found 1 affix exalted items
I had an exalt drop today with 1 affix on it xD
See, this is what I don't get. Everyone is suggesting I push to get to empowered monoliths right? So I get there at level 75 or 80 and the mobs are level 100. So I get xp super slowly, kill enemies super slowly, die a lot, etc. I wish there was a more efficient way to get to character level 100 so empowered monoliths are more reasonable in difficulty.
Great, straight to the point guide
Thank you!
when is the good lvl/time to start running Monolith? After competing Campaign or as soon as you get to lvl 50-55?
Honestly just around Level 50 or so. Once you get all your passives and idol unlocks.
@@CreativeGamingRUclips thank you!!
You have such a clean Northern/Midwestern accent - but why do you pronounce "affix" in the way you do - a-fix? Dictionary puts the accent on the A - for ah-fex.
Yep, apparently there is a noun and verb. I was using the wrong one lol
@@CreativeGamingRUclips No problem at all, I am still learning English so it's fun to listen to various creators and learn! Good luck love your videos!
Wow. That was a load of useful information. Thanks
I should have known from the extreme clickbait thumbnail this was going to be a useless video but i guess it worked, i clicked on it...
Alot of people are new and dont know some of this info even if its basic. Glad the thumbnail was okay though
I cant get behind someone who pronounces it "A fix". Its "AFFix" lol
It’s okay, in the new videos AF-fixed it
Thx for your time with this video.
Take a sub.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
Thanks for the video! Very informative
Glad it helped!
quite a nice timing for me. i was just about to start farming corruption in a monolith that an item i wanted drops in. but going to the end first is gonna be way faster to speed it up!
Thank you for this, huge help. You gained a sub!
Thanks for the sub!
very good and quick explanation of crafting...thanks and subbed!
Thanks!!
You forgot to say item bases matter when using Rune of Ascendance :)
Good video. Now if only the game didn't keep disconnecting.
Are you able to clarify one thing about resistance because I've been having a hard time finding a solid answer. The cap is 75%, res shreds can take this down but can be negated by res over the cap. So what is the "perfect" percent of resistance accounting for shred? Some say 100% others say as high as 150%
to know that youd have to know what % of your resistances are being shredded...which would assumedly vary by each enemy.
@@GrandmasterHobbyistduh LOL
great video 🙂
Thanks!
For instance the Increased Unique drop chance Blessing from the first empowered monolith can roll between 11-22%.
crafting early is a WASTE OF TIME
1. you don't have enough glyphs and runes to take out runes you want. ie rune of removal. so fkn rare and targets random affixes, so you have to use multiples
2. most items have such a low ass forge potential that that by the time u add or remove an affix you spent all that potential.
and that's even using the 25% no resource scroll.
Fair, but then when you make your second character, OP
@@CreativeGamingRUclips
the other thing with the runes that create uniques is that it more often then ever, creates uniques you'd never use
You're showing level 87 items on screen when telling us to craft early... What levels qualify as "craft early"? . Also, isn't it pronounced "AF-ix" not "a-FIX"? I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I'm asking so I don't mispronounce it lol.
Awesome video man!
Thanks!!
Great video !
Great tips. Thx for taking the time to run thru these!
Glad it could help!
What build are you running in this particular vid?
Running a Paladin
And Warlock...
good video, not so much mistakes as understanding game mechanics tho ^.^
How are they going to misspell judgment?!
I’ve gotten a rare with T6 on it
Really nice guide for beginners! thank you
You got it!!
Hi there :) Rune of ascendancy cannot proc boss specific uniques
Correct should have mentioned that specifically!
You forgot to mention experimental affixes/items.
great video. thanks
Thank you!
Well should of watch this before I hit 60 cause I just keep dying
Great video , thx !
You forgot to mention buying runes of shatter every opportunity you get
at 2k per? nah that's unreasonable
In this economy?!
Inflation..
Do i have to do all three monolith quests to continue to the next monolith? Im stuck in monolith lagon
I think you just have to do the three to the left or 3 to the right
yeah, to unlock the connected monoliths, you gotta defeat the boss in each one. when you go to empowered monoliths, they are all unlocked.
RIP anyone wearing headphones when that bell went off
Crafting, intimidating? Hah * laughs in Path of Exile*
I have an item that says "Experimental item" and its gold and purple.
Is the mini map always in the center of the screen or is that a setting?
That's called an overlay map, it's a toggle-able setting.
Click Tab button to toggle the minimap
While yes its technically a waste of time to go for corruption before level 100, a lot of people reach it without being able to clear level 100 100 corruption.
I speak from experience. Level 82 and cant survive for shit 😂
lol Fair enough
exalted can be a 1mod item doesnt have to be 3-4.
6. choosing CoF over Merchants
unless you want to GRIND for the items you want/need, I'd HIGHLY recommend the Merchants, just buy what you need, might take some time to farm up gold but it is guaranteed + no losing time rerolling prophecies (which then might force you into arena or dungeons...)
Such an amazing guide and all people care about is how he is pronoucning affix? SMH XD
Wonderful guide, thank you!
lol a guide from someone that doesn’t get the game. RUclips at its best
oh I get it.. uh-fix
