I have an ongoing fight with my washing machine! I have never given it as much attention as I started recently and all because of smelly clothes. I realised that you are supposed to clean under the rubber seal after 5 years (!), but by the time I checked it already had a black stain from the mold which doesn't come out. I cleaned it thoroughly, but the stain is still there, and no matter that after each wash I sanitise under the seal, even wipe by drum sometimes and air out my clothes, there seems to be still this lingering smell left behind! The last resort is to replace the rubber band, but for that you need a professional to do according to Clean My Space. Aargh!
Oh nooo! what a horrible thing to have! but at least you know the source of your issue with your washer. I would definitely also recommend a professional to replace the rubber band. Good luck!
I personally wipe the flippy flap dry after every cycle. mainly because it's so easy for it to build up mold and that's something i do my best to avoid. you got it!
