Sherco SE 250 Factory 250+ Hour Long Term Review

- After two years of riding the Sherco SE250 Factory and racing with it at the Erzberg Rode in Austria. I think I am very competent to talk about this bike.
The Sherco comes with KYB suspension and right from the factory is good for enduro, but for hard enduro it’s a little too hard so I had to do revalve to soften them. But also stock the suspension is very good for 75-85kg riders and can be ridden in hard enduro but if you are 67kg guy like me, you will find it a bit hard for you.
Fouling plugs with sherco 2 stroke in know issue with stock jetting if you follow book. But i never had that problem because i used less rich jetting, By book i needed to use 42 and 172 but at end i used 38, 170 and n8re needle !
The clutch pull for some riders is hard, you can fix it easy by removing two springs from clutch basket or just cutting them in half. Also second way to make the clutch pull lighter on sherco is to get 9mm cylinder master it will make your pull lighter for 20% it same works for ktm and husqvarna also.
I am very happy to have spent my last two years riding Sherco. I can say that it is a very good bike and very agile in difficult terrain. In extreme situations i like more sherco than ktm. But for me KTM TPI is better for long wide-open uphills because its more agressive. Sherco is simply a winner when it comes to tough terrain, its so easy to control it with smooth power delivery.
There was a problem with the clutch plates on the 2018 and 2019 models but after 2020 this problem is fixed. The new clutch plates design solved the problem, and the clutch plates are much better lubricated with oil now.

Thanks for the review lots of good info. Great job
Very nice video. I like your accent and understand it perfectly. Very honest review. Keep going with the great videos.
Nice channel! Sherco, this is an amazing bike. My next bike but four stroke! Support from France.👍🇫🇷
Thanks! 👍
My dream bike is a 2021 Sherco 300 SE Factory 😊
Good vidéo 👍👍👍
Nice video!
Thanks for the visit
I have also 250h and never changed the wheel bearings. It's a good bike and much cheaper than KTM in Switzerland.
Would it be worth it to pick up a 2017 factory with 69 hours on it?
Excelente video
Nice video mate! So what clutch kit can you buy aftermarket? Honda crf? Does 2021 clutch plates fits in 2018?
Not a direct answer to your question, but apparantly the "clake one light clutch" solves the tight clutch. Maybe look into it?
I really like your videos. Great work.
One question, if I remove the two bolts that you told to remove water will I loose the oil also?
Thank you
you oil will be in gearbox still,
@@TheDirtbikeRider Thank you for the fast response. I'm doing some water tomorrow (small river) and it's being useful if I drown the bike.
Что насчёт риеху? What about Rieju?
2020 model how macho su $?
Excellent video
i dont know the prices
I have a sherco 300 se r 2016 and the electric powervalve is not working and not hearing the motor wind when i turn ok the ignition can someone help me with this please ?
it's a known problem with them, the powervalve probably failed
What's your elevation? and jetting? and which needle?
38,170, n8re second clip. about 350meters
@@TheDirtbikeRider Thank you
@@TheDirtbikeRider isn't the n8re for the 300?
@@Andretco in manual yes, but you can use it for 250 also,
@@TheDirtbikeRider thanks for the reply! I am having constant pipe bang. Have you ever experienced it? I am 42 on pilot, so I guess it's too rich. I will go down to 38 to try out...
How does the 250 compare to the 300 in handling ?
Almost identical, but the 250 is somehow more agile
Which model year is this?
2019
bleed the forks before every ride? sounds like some other fix is needed.
yes i bleed them after ride too... ;)
Standard to do after every ride
Why did you go with the 250 over the 300??
I’m wondering the same thing. I’m coming off a Yz250x and looking for a change. Sherco and Beta are what I’m interested in.
It feels like the 250 is a lighter bike, but it’s not its just a feeling while riding it. Also i have just 65kg so for me 250 has good bottom end power.
@@chadrides914 same here! Im currently in a 350 excf but the 250 sherco is looking like excellent value for money
@@TheDirtbikeRider awesome thanks for getting back to me! Love the content by the way
@@chadrides914ever make the switch? I was looking at a yz250x, but then I saw a 2017 sherco se 250 factory for a good deal that I’m thinking about getting
When is the new one coming?
The 2022 Models were released about 2/3 months ago
Yep, 2022 are released already to public
@@TheDirtbikeRider i have the 2022 300 sherco factory 2 stroke. i have before 2 stroke and 4 stroke ktm and i love the sherco much more. kayaba and the factory parts for this price. i got the new bike for 9000 euro
