Hrmmm. Didn't think either of these companies made motocrossers. Just enduro/offroad racers. Quite frankly both of these companies probably sell more trials bikes alone in Europe than they sell bikes period in the US. Only non-austrian euro mx bike i can think of is Fanatic and TM. Maybe some other boutiques.
If you were comparing in a woods setting I have no doubt you would give the point for maneuverability to Sherco. The turning radius in tight single track is the Beta's weakest point. As far as suspension, stock for stock the Sherco has a KYB shock and Beta has Sachs, no contest there. Valving on an enduro bike is going to be a lot different than an mx bike as well.
I think most of us really enjoyed the video and hope these promising young men take the constructive criticism in the comment section to heart. You guys create great content, this was just not a great choice for a comparison. You'll learn from it and impress us again soon. Keep teaching, someday I want to ride like the Knights (I'm 45 so hurry!).
Thanks guys...great stuff! One of the best compare vids out there. The crew at MotoXperts dialed in my 990 and I wish I had taken it there years ago. Thanks for your content.
Thanks for making this video but it's totally pointless. One a 250, the other a 300. One Enduro, the other motocross based, not the same wheel size. Non standard suspension, non standard ergonomics. Tyres not the same as far as I can tell. This wouldn't help someone go and buy a Sherco off the floor. So much as been changed it's not even the same bike anymore. Trying not to sound all negative on this but it has to be relevant. On a positive note I like the editing and you boys know how to ride plus eloquent 👍 I'd just like to see two OEM bikes of the same category and same capacity back to back as I'm sure many others would also.
I Have a Sherco 300 SE factory and have been very happy with it the KYB forks and shock feel great engine has great lug it has help my riding so much !
hello, Beta RR 300 or Sherco se factory 300, which is more powerful, more aggressive, more brutal, more reliable, faster in the forest on difficult trails and difficult climbs thanks!🤝🏻
Another thing to consider on the sherco is the electric power valve which lets you program the mapping the way you want if you have the right cable. The software for the sherco’s mapping is also free and easy to use. If you prefer a harder hit and better top end power at the sacrifice of low end power you can change the bike to be more like the beta.
As a BETA owner gotta say ,,ALFAs ride BETAs,,but always love those Shercos,,gr8 vid ,,except for the lack of real tight stuff ,,kinda left that out and thats the whole bike
It's important to also take into consideration suspension set up and type of tires. I know that stock tires could be better on the Betas. And brakes work better on the Betas if you change to a different fluid. Stock fluid not the best. The Sherco is a premium bike but still lacks a good selection of aftermarket parts, etc.
I dont get the review here.. the correct way to do it should have been to take same capacity bikes 300cc, stock suspension and with all stock settings. Change to new tires of the same brand and modell on both bikes. Only then can you compare the actual difference of the two brands of bikes
kinda not comparing apples to apples betas down falls come at the point you using a motocross version. might as well call it motocross vs enduro bike comparisons
Ive had a beta 300 and am currently on a sherco 250. Im surprised that you guys felt like the beta was more maneuverable. In the single track stuff i mainly ride, i feel the sherco is way more nimbal. It's easier to turn, and maneuver over the beta.
i keep watching all these videos to find out which two stroke would be the best, in idaho tough single track and the price of a YZX is almost a no brainer, but from everything everyone is saying a european two stroke would be much better, have you done tough single track on a YZX with a flywheel weight? would i regret it?
@@madMX96 the Beta doesn't hold up to the racing you think? Our Betas are abused where I live through some pretty tough mountain use and they hold up quite well.
Gee the 300 has more power... and is also the Motocross version. Great channel, good quality but comparing a mx bike vs a trail bike in the desert..with little real trails.meh.
Many thanks for the video guys, Could you let me know which one is fit for short and slim man? I am 173cm 74kg weight. I am a amateur rider 35 years old man. I rode 2018 Beta 250rr for 1 year. Zf black painted Standart forks was a bit hard for me. I did some clicks on forks. It did not work for me. It was still hard.
So you do a wash on suspension because the Sherco has had suspension work but don't give an equals on motor performance between a 250 and 300. Either compare same CC bikes or don't compare power as much. Does the Beta still have a Radiator hose that will get cut by the pipe.

I think the comparison is not fair. if you exclude the brakes, the brembos were stronger, ok. in anything else since the cherco is set up with ohlins shock absorbers. no other comparison was to be made. three things play a role, the chassis, the shock absorbers, and the tires. so for me it was not an objective comparison of two companies, just two motorcycles that you happen to have in your possession. anyone who knows about machines will agree with me.
So you're comparing a 250 vs 300. An MX vs Enduro bike.... And one with aftermarket suspension just to mix it up a bit. Pointless is an understatement. Sorry. Sherco for the win all day.
Pointless making the comparison when you aren't comparing the same size engines. You lost me at rating a 300 vs 250 on engine strength. Credibility lost instantly. Can't finish the video.
I expect Harley guys to comment in almost every motorcycle vid “ the Pan-head is the best and all I need” or something to that effect, I didn’t know that the same type existed in the dirt world.
The title listerally says "which bike is better"? But then you say the purpose is not to say which bike is better? Smh. The bike doesn't have feelings. Feel free to hurt them and let us know which one is better.
You talked about power delivery a lot and kept saying the beta is more blah blah. Errrr ye it’s a 300cc not a 250cc now get a 300cc sherco and do it all again.
Ok the 300 rx is rare and an mx bike. The Sherco is a 250. It’s lame to try to compare so closely. The rx has a 19” rear wheel and the Sherco has an 18”. You should have at least compared the same 250 or 300 size motor. There should have been 18” rear wheels. It’s bs with tricked out ohlins onSherco. . I can’t finish watching this. It’s lame.
Agree that it was a strange comparison. Both very different. But these guys are great. I know you’re not a hater HawaiianDirtRider. You warned me a long time ago about the chat haters on thumper talk. Always appreciated that. 🤙🏽
I'm not even thinking of these bikes and watched the whole thing because you made it so interesting. I learned a ton as well. Thanks guys!
Apples to oranges review. Comparing an Enduro to an MX, of 2 different capacities. But yes like you said, comparing characteristics...

Although it is a little disappointing that both bikes weren’t in stock form, I think you guys did a great job. Loved the straight forward format.
Very nice video giving some good points to think about.
Glad you enjoyed it
Put a deposit down on a 2022 beta 300 race edition. I’m going Beta but you can’t go wrong with either bike they are both so good!

I thought the same thing. Soon as I found a difference in size, I immediatly dismissed the comparison
I was hoping it would be a beta 200 RR, but I’m in the same boat as you as soon as I saw it it was a 300 I moved on

Why don’t Ktm use this on their TPI bikes??
@@vinceking7878
They will on their 2023 model XCs. Not sure about their XC-Ws yet.
Without stock suspension, half of the categories are a waste of time!!
These two bikes aren't in the same category. The Beta 300 RX is supposed to be a motocross bike.
Thanks! This was super useful for me!
Quality job! Congratulations!
“Lead example by ktm..”? No, that lead example belong to the original gasgas in 1997 which featured the vibration reduction in their endurobikes.

the sherco factory model is fitted with some of the best parts on the market, so why would you want loads of aftermarket parts
The beta version is the motocross one also lol
I’d actually like to hear the comparison between the 500’s from anybody that’s spent time on both!

With obvious height difference between the two of you, did you prefer one over the other.

Great video.

Sherco is basically the closest we’ll ever get to a Modern Day Bultaco.
Detonating at idle? Cmon now. And anyone using the term "pre-detonation" is hard to take serious from a technical side.
Who do you think you are? Cody Webb’s mechanic?

Because every Sherco 300 we’ve brought in all year has been pre sold before it hits our showroom floor.
