    Love my 2022 Beta 300rr. Oil injection and I didn’t need to do anything to make it Colorado street legal. I put on a FMF muffler/ spark arrester, Fastway pegs, Kobel link, skid plate, disk gaurds, Seat concepts wide seat, Bark Busters and mounts. Now I have a perfect bike for this 61 year old 5 ft 6 intermediate rider. The carb works perfect from 8k to 13k foot mountains too.

    I have the 2021 Beta 300RR and I love it, also since they aren't moving nearly as many bikes as the big brands, it is fully plateable with the addition of blinkers. Having grown up on 2 strokes with several chases on the street under my belt in the late 90s it is truly and awesome feeling ripping past law enforcement on a fully legal 2 stroke

    My advice is to buy what your riding buddies have, and buy from a manufacturer that has spare parts in your area that are usually available. That way you can all build up a spare parts inventory and share it amongst each other when stuff breaks. What they didnt talk about is seat heights. If you are short the Beta has a lower seat height. They also didnt mention the KTM group suspension is subpar out of the box and will cost money to get it working properly.

      I'd say buy what you can afford and what you're comfortable with. Do your research and get the right bike for you. KTM suspension has gotten much better over the years, but is still prefer kyb. Most riders will revalve and spring to suit anyhow so I wouldn't give the edge to anyone.

    Disclosure that I own a 2022 GasGas EC250. The whole BrakTec vs Brembo being better is something I've sampled (my buddy has a 2022 GasGas EX300 with Brembos. I've raced my bike a lot over the last year, and never felt any fault from BrakTec components. It is a real world non-issue. No fading, good modulation. These brakes aren't inferior to anything.

    I have the 21 GasGas. Which is practically the same as the 23! In my riding group I get to ride the Husky and KTM variants often and had 8 KTM 300's myself. KTM gets a lot of flack for selling 3 different bikes that are basically the same thing. In practice they all feel very different. I chose the GG because the ergonomics fit me best and its the most playful to ride with a perky motor. Complaints on the brakes are valid, they could be better. At the end of the day I bought the one that suited my riding best and was the best fit out the box. My thinking on the less premium bits was I upgrade suspension on every bike I buy and spend money on bike protection regardless. So why not buy the cheapest one? Looks mint too...something about red.

    I chose the Gasgas EC 300 over the others. It's attributes such as linkage sway arm, spring forks, silver wheels (which most don't like but I do) and it costs less. Came close to the beta 300 but part available worried me. I love the bike, it pulls so well down low but has plenty of high power. Definitely a tractor and you can be quite lazy of a rider or go all out with a few changes to the PV spring. Even the green spring has almost too much power and I find the bike to be way more than I need. Either way it's amazing on trails in stock form, best mods is a lower cut seat, skid plate, hand guards, etc. Really amazing and yes I am somewhat of a new rider but this bike is forgiving compared to older two strokes

  • @Lefevreremodeling
    @Lefevreremodeling Год назад +3

    My gas gas ec 300 is perfect. Could use a lil more power. But I'm happy with it. The brakes are not an issue for me. They work just as good as my 250sx. At the end of the day you can't go wrong with any of these smokers

    You didn't mention Beta's 6mo warranty compared to 1 or 2mo for the others. Also looks like y'all avoided the muddy and wet conditions. KTM and Husky have been plagued with exposed sensor issues in these conditions. Very important details, in my book.

      @Jonny Humphreys KTM give a 30 day warranty, and it's not worth the paper it's written on. having owned one I found dealer help and care to be awful.
      I recently visited a bike shop here in Australia where the owner told me a guy brought a Beta in with a broken crank case which is seriously expensive to replace.
      he was the 3rd owner of the bike, it was a few years old and it had over 250 hours on it. they enquired with Beta and they sent out a pair of crank cases free of charge under warranty. that's seriously impressive in today's industry

      @@jonnyhumphreys9133 that's the difference aye. I had a issue with my tpi that was electrical. my local ktm wouldn't even plug the diagnostics in for me because I didn't buy the bike new from them, even when I had the bike in the van outside the shop. they also played stupid when I mentioned al the sensor faults and common issues, just acted like no one had ever mentioned it before. great support hey!?
      A friend of mine also had a 300tpi sieze at 12 hours old, KTM wouldn't even cover it under warranty. after a lot of back and forth between him, the mechanic and KTM all they offered was a small discount on the parts he'd need for a rebuild. still had to pay for them and fork out for the labour.
      as much as I liked my KTM they really do let themselves in the dealer department. KTM don't care about their customers

The KTM XC 250 and 300 TBI bikes are right there and are the best straight out racing bike on the market. Whether you'd like to admit it or not, the proof is everywhere, period! They sell 100 to 1 bikes compared to all other manufacturers and they still have the least amount of repairs or failures, and consistently win more races hands down. It's hard to be on the top because everyone wants to knock you off.

      From what I remember, it had nice a nice lugging bottom end, at the expense of top end(our rm250 was much quicker). Very smooth bike, and low maintenance costs.
      The biggest con for me was I got a NASTY head shake a couple times on that bike. Scared the poop out of me.
      I also used to ride that bike on a track before I could even touch the ground. It was much easier for me to clear the jumps compared to my yz80.
      Of course, it's one of the bikes that I wish was still in the family. Fortunately, I have a 1996 KX250 that I've refreshed. It's an absolute joy to ride.

    ‘Old School PDS’ HaHa you have that backwards kids. KTM developed PDS as an evolution to linkage, by replacing the rising rate linkage with a position sensitive shock they were able to save weight, gain ground clearance and simplify the motorcycle.

    • @cyclenews
      @cyclenews  Год назад +3

      Correct, it's their way of having no link but technically linkage is newer "tech" than non-linkage (PDS)

    • @nicktuttle9483
      @nicktuttle9483 Год назад +1

      @@cyclenews Yes but since The PDS System was an evolution of the linkage system, (Ktm had linkage before PDS) and is vastly different than the actual Old School non linked dual shock setups from the 70’s that you are comparing it to, so calling it old school is misleading at best. Whether or not it was a step forward is be debatable, as it obviously has some disadvantages for closed course racing…

    Glade to see someone testing the 2 strokes, they have always been better for off road riding. But dam 10 grand? Only the rich can afford them, but I guess that is off road has become. Only for the rich. You know it was us working class kids and the poor that started this. It wasn't you rich kids. But as usual we get pushed out by the cost going sky high, then you rich don't get shown up by the working class, because we don't have anything to lose.

      I just bought a new 2023 Beta 300RR. I’ve had four WR 450’s over the last seven years and still have one. I was looking for something lighter and two stroke. I agonized over buying the YZ 250x for some time as it was thousands of $ cheaper but…no six speed, no starter, no battery, no counterbalancer etc,etc. The Japanese manufacturers are, or should I say, DID, miss out on the HUGE enduro market. Unfortunately it’s - 29 here in Kingston Ontario this February morning making riding season seem very far away at the moment.
